Whats the status of your brand new U.S PSP topic. (dead pixels, stuck button, etc...)

Anyone else notice the menu background has flickers of black pixels (on and off) a little bit if you look REALLY close.

I posted earlier about the issues I had with under screen dust on my 1st PSP. I got it at Wal-Mart good thing. So I went to exchange it and the guy behind me in the exchange line had a PSP as well. He said that it was going to be his 2nd exchange. His 1st unit had screen scratches, dust and dead pixels. The 2nd one just had dust and dead pixels. So the guy came from the back and brought a stack of PSP's for us to look at. We used the charaged batteries from the old units and checked out units until we found good ones. He lucked up on the 2nd check, I had to go through 5 units until I got a good one. The people at Wal-Mart were very nice and told us that since midnight they had had many returns/exchanges and that Wal-Mart as a company had reported a huge number of complaints across the board all day. I love my new unit, but the quality of this initial release is very shitty. Went to BB to pickup a case later in the day, and heard similar stories from the guy I always see in the game section, just to a much lesser extent.

My PSP has three dead pixels. Hardly noticeable unless you're searching hard. Everything else seems perfect in that it all works fine.

OUCH @ returns. Sony's going to hurt from this returns business. Especially if Walmart returns the stock.

I don't really know, I can't tell. I'm not going to stare at the screen and look for defaults I'll never notice otherwise. :p I'm also not using a screen protecter and I'm using the given case *gasp*. You people baby this thing too much, it's not that fragile at all.

no dead pixels
no stuck pixels
no faulty buttons
no dust under screen
no fault analog nub (I don't like the nub at all, btw)

all day at work, all my boss did was ask me if i can't wait to get my PSP...

he dropped me off at the atlantic terminal after work and i calmly waalked into gamestop with my bro to get my PSP...

long story short

0 dead pixels
0 stuck pixels

he asked me if he could carry it to school tomorrow :lol :lol :lol

watched a few minutes of the spidey UMD and the demo disk

seriously, people weren't joking, the screen looks like it was made by jesus christ the lord

One dead pixel in the middle, only noticable in the system menu. I don't even see it when I play Lumines or Wipeout Pure

PSP is awesome, awesome is PSP

Out of 4 psp's I and coworkers got today..3 perfect screens and 1 with 3 stuck pixels. So far its been good...really hate the glossy finger print lifter case though. Also, screen should have had faster refresh times...fast scenes in spiderman 2 have the motion blur. Not really noticable, but you can see them.

Couldnt find ridge racer anywhere, picked up darkstalkers and untold legends...legends is cool so far...and we all know how darkstalkers is. Buddy has lumenes or whatever its called..look good. And most likely get ridge racer once stores get more in.

Now all I need is a UMD burner so I can have 1.8 gigs of mp3's and it will be perfect. Not holding my breath though.

Heh, I was the first one to get a PSP in my town, and guess what? No line, waiting, or anything! I just simply walked into my local Wal-Mart about 10 minutes before midnight and I was the only person there waiting for a PSP. As soon as it hit 12 I bought it and went home:)

Oh boy, my fun tonight:

picked up PSP on lunch hour from Target. bitchin.

PSP #1: Turn it on when I get home, 4 dead pixels in the mid-left area of the screen all together.

I take it back.

The next one gets opened at the customer service desk so I don't have to fuck with it.

PSP #2: Nick in the bottom left part of the screen and 2 dead pixels, far apart. I could have dealt with the pixels, but the nick took it over the edge. The go get me more PSPs.

PSP #3: Super big piece of dust in the upper mid-right under the plastic. I almost considered getting it, but decided that since the csr said she was defecting them, Sony be damned, I decided to have my fun. It was ok depending on what color was showing underneath, but it would have gotten annoying pretty quickly.

PSP #4: SCRATCH ACROSS THE ENTIRE FACE OF THE UNIT. They get me another stack of PSPs.

PSP #5: Nothing wrong with it that I can see, I take it home, and profusely thank them for being so cool about it.

TL;DR: I opened 5 PSPs before I got one that was acceptable. Sony is going to take a fucking bath on this launch.

Target on my lunch break as well.

Absolutely perfect.

Love Wipeout pure and Now that I've got an hour or so under my belt for Lumines, It's excellent.

Now all I need is a bigger memcard, but that can wait.

No dead pixels, no scratches. Annoying bump in the plastic on the left side of the screen. It makes a small bubble on my martin fields.

I spoke too soon. Two dead pixels, but in really out of the way, side of the screen places. I had to stare to notice them. I didn't notice it before though, so I don't really care all that much.

four or five dead pixels on mine, 3 of them in a clump in the lower left right of the screen, back to walmart we go ho hum :)

just picked up mine at walmart with wipeout pure. they had quite a few.

left trigger button is sticky...DAMN. screen looks perfect though. i will probably return this one tomorrow after i play with it a bit.
:D

Ugh. Just when I played with my first PSP this morning and I decided I had to go buy one right now, you guys all go and be special cases (or just anal) and convince me to wait for word of some sort of ratcheting-up of the design/fabbing.

Oh well, this all will give me the self control to hold out at least a week or two before giving in and buying one. Doesn't sound like they'll be in short supply.

2 dead pixels and 1 stuck pixel. I went to exchange it at my gamestop and they told me that since sony says it is not a defect and since it says in the instruction manual that it is not a defect, they would not take it back.

Too bad there wasn't a magazine rack in sight.

A few times after I've inserted Wipeout Pure, the audio is a static belch of noise. I have to pop open the disc tray, and close it again for the audio to stream correctly.

Is this a known issue, or is my system about to explode?

no dead pixels
no stuck pixels
no faulty buttons
no dust under screen
aaand....no PSP either :)

I'm gonna wait a while before getting one.

No dead pixels
No stuck pixels
All of my buttons are working fine
As far as I can tell, the UMD drive door is fine

Perfect on all sides, and I picked up Wipeout Pure when I bought it. The rest of my games are coming through Amazon (bought through GAF, because I'm cool like that). Lumines, Twisted Metal, and Ridge Racers.

No problems here.

No dead or stuck pixels, perfect buttons, and no other obvious defects. Works perfectly.

Arggg I figured Gamestop was going to be stingy with the returns, I bought mine there to and got 4 stuck pixels and 2 specks of dust under the screen..

Congratulations to the people who got perfect PSP's, I'm not a hater.

ENJOY!!! :)

Mine just froze up. I was playing Lumines and didn't quit the game properly I guess (can't remember if I hit home or just hit the eject button and in what order).

Anyway, I got his 'Please Wait...' message so after about a minute or so (seemed like longer) I just decide to power off but that didn't even work. Tried 10-15 times and it still wouldn't turn off.

So finally I have to remove the battery and put it back in.

I guess I have to get used to the new Sony handheld paradigm.

mine is absolutly perfect no dust pixels or stuck buttons. my import had a tiny piece of dust onder the screen. anybody with both systmes notice theat they interchanged the x and o button when responding to questions. it was werid getting used to after messing with the import for 3 months

3 or 4 white pixels in the lower right corner.

It can be pretty distracting.

Also, maybe this is normal, but the memory stick cover likes to come undone a lot. Drives me up a wall.

#1 had three dead pixels, #2 the battery refused to work. #3 is flawless...thank god

Love Lumines. Wipeout is very good. Tiger Woods suffers from the nagging load times (can't believe it loads between shots).

A few hairline scratches that are hard to notice. THey have most likely been there from the beginning.

No dead-pixels/stuck pixels as far as I know.
