What's with the cross gen copium??

Do you think PS6 will have a meaningful amount of exclusive/non-cross gen games?

The issue is "dependence". What RT offers, while better, isn't revolutionary in terms of application. So my argument is that it until it allows things that were previously impossible in a broad "product" sense, the reality of business will be to pick strategies that can be applied the most broadly.

You can fake everything offered by RT using older techniques, so there isn't that much of an impetus to phase out legacy methods in the short to mid-term.

What we have right now is sufficiently capable of making great looking titles. I actually wonder how large the market is for better outside of enthusiast circles.

Faking it is still extra effort. I don't think all studios will move to tracing immediately, but there is going to be a shift in development standards and I think there will be a meaningful impact on PS6 exclusives.

I agree, but I feel like the desire to follow market-share will take precedence over shaving an indeterminate amount of time/manpower off of dev-cycles. Especially as AI methods can be broadly applied to achieve the same result.

FF7 rebirth coming to pc in 2days so cant really count it as exclusive anymore, stellar blade comiing to pc in 2025 too so again, soon it wont be exclusive, u wont buy ps5/ps5pr0 for it if u know it will come to pc soon...
spidey2 coming to pc too

Actual games(not some tiny demos) that are true ps5 exclusives not announced on pc are so few even tho console is already over 4 years on the market:
Astro Bot
Destruction allstars(its terrible game, gaas, has terrible reviews so technically u count it but its basically concord w/o servers getting offline, thats how bad it is and so few players it has)
MSB is indie shooter with pc release date planned in 3 days, so cant count that either.
RotR- that one can be actually fully counted, proper ex.
SO:TD- not an ex, its on xbox series and even last gen xbox one
AH:TSM is like PT, 70-90min long demo w/o fighting.
SAT is indie, graphics wise even below most ps4 games erome, and it has "coming soon" on pc steam too...

So tldr, true ps5 exclusives are:
Demons Souls (remake but its such a high quality, and so much improvement over ps3 version that is fucked up tech wise, i will count it)
Rise of the Ronin
Astro Bot
And that is kinda it, we not gonna count demos like astro's playroom or SH demo, nor some indies that look 2gens old that no1 plays, wont count square's concord that no1 plays either.

Now question for myself and ppl who love playstation consoles/games, is ps5/ps5pr0 worth it for 3(!) exclusives, i can only answer myself, it is not, unfortunately, maybe by ps6, that will likely be backwards compatible, amount of exclusives gonna reach 10, so it will be worth it by then hopefully? Thats my pov at least.
thank you for your suggestion

The generations have been suffering from a much more obvious 'staggering' effect ever since Nintendo left the same graphical train track that Sony and MS were on, which one could argue goes back as far as the Wii generation.

People might not like Nintendo taking the blame, but they technically started this entire avalanche with one snowball. So unless Switch 2 is some magical AI-powered graphical beast, expect more games that could potentially run on a PS4 Pro or Series S at best.

The people celebrating the ongoing success of the PS5 may not yet realize what that success means. Games are going to have to run on the PS5 for a very long time.
