I think you need to layoff the crack for a while.

Ninja theory is inhouse studio, unlike the recent closed studios, which were part of Bethesda. MS won't close them, unless the next project fails.

Hellblade 2 was a huge failure (as expected), but I doubt Microsoft will close them.

One difference between Ninja Theory and Arkane Austin is that Microsoft have chosen to buy Ninja Theory. They bought Arkane and Tango, but imo they were more interested by Bethesda Games Studio and its IP.

Yup, MS only wanted fallout and elder scrolls IPs. The rest are expandable for them.

They bought them for the same reason they bought Bethesda... Lots of content for GamePass. Arkane and Tango were there to generate content, same as Ninja Theory. Well, NT just spent 5 years making a 5 hour game that isn't going to move the needle on GP at all, and sell barely any copies. Is MS going to sign up for another $150+ million to let them make another game that is, most likely, going to be the same?

That is not the question. The question is, now that HB2 has proven to be a critically acclaimed game, will NT be able to maintain that leven now that Antoniades is not there?

they should fire whoever created the annoying puzzles for this gamethey should fire whoever created the annoying puzzles for this game

IDK, its not like you can will it into existence no matter much you want mate.

After the recent 4 studios that were cut by MS, most notably Tanga and Arkane Austin, I don't know what makes you think Ninja Theory isn't next on the chopping block. Their latest 2 games bombed hard. Bleeding Edge and Hellblade 2.

Or do you prefer to bury your head in the sand and not face reality?

Ninja Theory's Motion Capture studio is the biggest reason why they won't get shut down. It is no doubt amazing tech that all of Microsoft's studios have access too. I do think their days of being a "traditional" game developer may be over, though

edit- Crazy that Microsoft paid 117mil to acquire them, that is nuts

81 is critically acclaimed?
Take away the paid 10's it received and it be lucky to have a 70 average.

I voted 2025. With June 9 conference so close, they will not dare to make a move now. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and accept the rumors of Ninja Theory having another game to work on, and maybe a port to PS5. But next year Xbox will be looking for studios to kill for accouting purposes again, unless they somehow have a better year than the last, with no game as big as Starfield in the works, and COD don't count as it is unlikely to have way better sales than previous ones.

Santa monica change their leadership each time they ship a game. Even Nintendo have a story of finding different directors when needed. I don't fear for them in that regard, save for the fact that Microsoft may ask for someone able to follow budgets more than someone that will be in for the art.

Moving them to a Call of Duty support studio would be proof that Activision is in charge now

Dude, i know Bleeding edge bombed hard and HB2 is doing poorly, i said so myself in the review thread, they are probably the most in danger, but making a poll like this is a bit unhinged.

This is a gaming forum where we discuss everything from games to sales and studio closer. Feel free to ignore the thread if you don't like it.

It's nothing personal.
