"Where are all the E3 leaks!?!" asks local man standing knee deep in water

I really thought this was a parody thread before I opened it because we have this exact same thread every year and always we get leaks. Actually we've gotten some already.

Keep it that way. Last two or three E3's have been spoiled due to leaks. Also, the E3 threads, due to leaks, had certain expectations set (needed surprises, which ended being zero), and as such turned the threads into shit.

I hope this years stays leak free. The only leaks should be the intended leaks (teasers).

EDIT: For the record, Nintendo's E3 has already been messed with with the full leak of Mario + Rabbids. Regardless of believing the rumor or not, it sucks some the fun out of E3, as it is one game I already know about. The element of surprise is gone for that game. It is just a matter of how it plays now.

As far as I understand, Ubisoft leaked Far Cry 5 already themselves, because they thought screw it after Rabbids X Mario was leaked I guess.

We will see some leaks happen in the next week, many Developers will leak stuff a week before E3 hits to gather more attention as it will be hard for many games to be relevant in the bombardement of new titles that are announced during E3.

Essentially only MS, Sony and Nintendo can really afford to keep quiet and show new stuff at their shows, as the whole world waits for them to drop the Megatons(though Megaton is now exclusive to Nintendos ARMS I guess ^^)

Thought this thread had been bumped from last year.

The majority of leaks will come a few hours before each conference, like always.

Leaks suck. The people who leak them suck. Gonna try and avoid them at all costs this year.

Leaks are no fun. What about there joy of seeing a trailer for the first time at a show?

Kidding, I need to know who is in MvC Infinite like, yesterday.

I like it when the big new reveals are saved for the show, however as to why there's been no leaks, I'd say it's mainly because many of our good insiders have moved on -

Shinobi
DemonNite
Verendus (debatable)
Cboat

Probably more I'm forgetting. We just don't seem to have as many forum folk hinting at or leaking stuff any more. Got a few newer ones, but without Bish to verify I'm not sure I can trust them yet.

Happy answer: Leakers have decided not to ruin the announcements this year
Sad answer: There's nothing worth leaking

To be honest, I hope nothing leaks. The entire freaking show is based around hype and pageantry. Losing that surprise factor hurts quite a lot.

Why do you want leaks? The best part of E3 is the surprise announcements, leaks always ruin the surprise and makes E3 even more pointless than it already is. I love having an event to watch and just see a bunch of unexpected game announcements to hype up with people on the internet, not a bunch of things I know already and being elaborated on.

I don't like leaks but the lack of leaks makes me concerned that there won't be any big announcements. I'd like to hear leaks about potential leaks.

Leaks make E3 better for me. I don't see how they ruin the show when they haven't been confirmed by the company. It's fun to watch and see if they are actually true. I also think in some cases companies probably intentionally leak things to test the reaction.

Good. I want to see the surprises during the E3 conferences and not at 3am on a wednesday 2-3 weeks before.

Even so, they´ll probably start dropping a day or two before E3 like always.

This tradition is so ironclad it's like a yearly holiday!

Yep, its gamer Christmas. There is the other tradition which tends to mainly be NintendoGAF but can apply to other fanbases which is the hype cycle :
1) OMG OMG OMG e3/Nintendo Direct, this time we will definitely get F-Zero, Metroid, Mother 3 and a new IP from Retro
2) event happens
3) hype deflates as these titles aren't announced but some wacky zany thing such as Splatoon or Arms is, Nintendo suck, why dont they listen to their fanbase?
4) Man Arms/Splatoon/Mario Kart/ Mario Odyssey are fricking awesome isnt Nintendo great
5) Nintendo direct announced

continue cycle....

Leaks come from people within the E3 event, usually during stage rehearsals and such, which won't occur until later. Leaks don't just materialize out of thin air, there has to be people in the know leaking this stuff when it starts getting discussed more openly, and that's going to happen about a week to a few days in advance of E3.

As a side note, never understood why people hate leaks. You're learning new info regardless of when it is, I don't see how it's spoiled other than there's less fanfare surrounding a leak then an actual showroom reveal. But either way, you get new info, you get hype, you move on. I'm not going to say no to a handy just because I wanted a suck.
