Many people love COD. If it really becomes a Xbox console exlusive in 2023, you can bet that a few million casuals switch to Xbox or buy a Xbox instead of a PS just because of that series.

It is not BS, anyone with an ounce of thought would recognise why it’s not sustainable, at least not for Sony
In order to get a subscription service up and running, you have to basically commit multiple billions and a decade to see any sort of return. There are detailed study on Netflix, and other streaming companies on how expensive it is. Gamepass is nothing but a huge money sink as of now, money sink which Microsoft can continue to pour money for years and decades before it starts to turn green. They can afford it because they’re stupidly rich, Sony can’t. No company can.
There’s a reason Xbox financial reports are summed up in one para, with no breakdown or details in regards to running cost. Because, it’s deep in red. And, that’s fine. Because, that’s the cost involved in growing a sub service. And, if you think 15m Forza players justify the cost of $70B deal to put CoD Day 1 on GP, then I have a bridge to sell you.
Microsoft ultimate dream in the pie, is a successful cloud based gaming across every device, so they can penetrate billion gamers. That billion gamer dream is funding this spending spree, not that Forza moved few million copies.
Sony, on the other hand. Don’t have the amount of manpower at studios, not the same resources. They specialise in Single-player experiences, which are one and done, and don’t have live service elements or MTX. The budget on their games are ridiculous, and marketing cost exceeds the budget for most tent poles. Them committing to putting everything Day 1 on service for $10 would be akin to PS3 days with spending $2B on cell, and continue to lose billions on it throughout the gen while chasing the dream it was the future. It’s simply not sustainable for current Sony, that model. Unless, of course they change the content they create, and transition towards GaaS so it can be monetised heavily via service. The other option would be to get absorbed by a bigger conglomerate like Apple, Google or Amazon and have them write a blank check for next decade like Microsoft is doing for Xbox.
Folks want everything for $10 Day 1, without realising costs are always passed down to consumers, and second content itself would be changed heavily for a service. So yeah, a pretty ignorant take out of you.

Well I don't think I was very wrong, and if it's as you say the path Sony can take at this point is just ... investing more in what it does and becoming in the long run. a niche console / service.
The era of exclusives as we have associated them has practically come to an end. And if Sony fails to switch models, well it will simply lag behind especially if it enters a content war that sees it in great economic difficulty compared to its direct rival and already (as you said) at a clear and evident disadvantage as first party studios manpower. Starfield although it is a big project for Bethesda being a new IP it has not hit the masses (yet) but it is inevitable that famous games like Skyrim, Doom, Cod and all the others as soon as they come out they will do it and think that two games in the generation of naughty dogs (albeit for me still the best developers in the world) do not change things much at this point. If you add the number of content that Ms can actually develop to date ... from hellblade to fable from Forza to Wolfenstein from avowed to Skyrim from Doom to halo from crash Bandicoot to COD from flight sim to gears of war and I probably haven't written half of it I have my doubts that at this point not even a few "Hollywood" productions can change the course of things.

At this point Sony will need to act big before MS will eat the entire industry. I was one of those saying Sony doesn't need to aquire big publishers, but at this point they should, buy Capcom, buy Square, Konami, Bamco and Sega, and even Take 2 if possible.

I really wouldn't worry about CoD, because unless they radically change their business model for it, it simply doesn't work as part of Gamepass.
Look at this way:
To play CoD on a console you have two options; Warzone, which is F2P already (i.e. no benefit from GP, so lets forget it), or one of the paid upfront instalments.
If you're in the latter group there are 3 strands of appeal; SP campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies. The funny thing about this is that although the SP is an expensive to produce element, its almost certainly got the most limited appeal. Noone talks about CoD campaigns anymore! That they are still made at all has always struck me as a sort of loss leader to help people over the hump of a $60 buy-in.
Its one-and-done, and nobody gives a shit really (especially casuals), so even though offering it day#1 on GP is a big saving, I don't see it as being more than a filler release.
The real meat of the offering is the MP suite, and its Zombies "side-car" both of which require paid online access on console, regular additional payments for season passes, and a shitload of smaller micro-transactions. All things that need to be paid irrespective of it being part of Gamepass and where the overwhelming majority of the revenue is generated over the entire annual cycle. Which in turn resets every new entry.
Basically my thinking is that were you to dump this "as-is" on GP its going to be fucking catastrophic for revenue. People only wanting the SP are getting a good deal, but its brief and not such a big deal. They might have a quick look at MP, but I doubt they'll investigate it too much or be so compelled to buy season passes and mtx because they haven't had to commit to any specific buy-in.
The regular CoD/Zombies competitive and Co-op players -who are the definition of casuals, because its their "only" game- basically don't get anything out of this at all. In fact what they'll find is that especially if they got it as part of GP, they'll be constantly distracted by other FPS options that they are also offered as part of the service, often with less exploitative monetization models.
Revenue will fall off a cliff, in my honest opinion, unless they radically change the model. Which is a pretty risky thing as this model also applies on PC, where even more alternatives are available and there's no recurrent charge for network access.
