Where is Sucker Punch?

They were rumored to be developing Spiderman, Insomniac is the developer and they also made in the same period:

Sunset Overdrive (XBO)
Ratchet and Clank (PS4)
Song of the Deep (Multi)
Edge of Nowhere (VR / Oculus)
Spiderman - brand like Rockstady's Batman not just one game (PS4)

what is Sucker Punch doing?

Edit:

I'm not comparing between the studios but just giving a perspective of the period.

Insomoniac is a 5-team studio (according to Colin Moriarty). Sucker Punch is a one-team studio. They had 80 people as of a couple years ago. They are not a big studio in terms of AAA development.

Sucker Punch are pretty small for an AAA studio if I recall. Its only been 2 years since their last game. Less than that if include first light. I expect they are working on a new IP or another infamous game although I wish it was a new IP. Wont really need another open world hero game once spiderman comes out.

Sucker Punch released their last game ~2 years ago and a bigger DLC a few months later.
Sucher Punch ist even half as big as Insomniac is.

So..... ?????

Most likely working on a new IP that I'm guessing will be announced at E3 2017. And they were never actually rumored to be working on Spider-Man, no insiders teased that it was just the most popular theory after Nerd Leaks found Spider-Man PS4.

Well they have made infamous and first light in the last 2 years, and last i heard they were only a studio of like 110 people or so, these things take time. Will most likely have something to show next e3

Sucker Punch has went on record saying they are a one game studio and like keep their studio size manageable. All the major Sony studios are now approaching 200 people or maybe more and last I remember hearing was Sucker Punch was 100 or lower.

Sucker Punch is also rumored to be working on a new IP using state of the art mocap gear. That's all we know. I'll give then time because they do quality work.

Whatever it is you can expect combat driven, open world, super hero gameplay. They have an incredibly formula.

Games take a while to make. Infamous was only two years ago, with First Light a bit later.

Sucker Punch is a small team, Insomniac is a big multi-platform developer. Give it awhile.

This is the worst math I've ever seen

Apparently they are working on a new IP? I don't know which insider let that slip, but does anyone have a link to that?

If people are making the logical assumption that Sony won't need two open world superhero games with Infamous and Spider-Man, I would agree with you if there wasn't Days Gone and most likely The Last of Us 2 coming out around the same time. (I'm guessing Q1 2018 at earliest for Days Gone and Naughty Dog's next project by 2019). They are still thematically the same.

I would like a new IP from Sucker Punch. Despite 3 games, Infamous never really took off and remained stuck within the confinements of its limited storytelling scope. Sort of like what happened with the Resistance trilogy. Just wasted potential.

Also, Insomniac have over 200 employees with multiple teams. Sucker Punch downsized from 100 employees after the completion of Second Son back in 2014. They aren't comparable.

Best wishes.

Yes, between Infamous: Second Son and the announcement of Spiderman Insomniac has made 4 games from start to finish within that same time period.

5-team studios, 1-team studios, that means nothing, Insomniac is currently doing 5 projects so there are "five teams" accordingly, but if suddenly they decide to make only 3-persons project that doesn't make them a "72 teams studio" :P

Insomniac has released more because they've made also smaller projects. Their output is impressive nonetheless but it's ridiculous to pick a arbitrary time frame and say "look at all those studio x games since then, studio y really is lazy or in trouble amirite".
Just like you count Sunset Overdrive in it just because it released after Second Son, but it's not like all the games you list were produced in the time frame since Second Son came out.

Not to mention that I don't really see the point of pitting two beloved studios "against" each other. That comparison is random and uncalled for.

Differents studios work on different project(s) and also have different team size and focus.
Making new things takes time and if they're only making 1 big projet then they've got nothing else to show before this one is ready to be shown.

I was also hoping for news at e3 but there were none, it's okay.

I think Insominac also has multiple studios, whereas Sucker Punch is just the one.

After Second Sons DLC they laid off a lot of people, so their project probably takes a bit longer, at least that's my guess

I'm not comparing between the studios but just giving a perspective of the period.

SIE Bend Studio released their last game, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, in February 2012.

Only two weeks ago did they announce their new game, Days Gone. That's 4+ years of not knowing what a Sony studio was doing.

I only recently played First Light, took a year long break after Second Son. Aged really well and is still holding up nicely, also super fun to play. Can't wait for their next game.

First Light was not DLC for Second Son

Same City, Characters from the main game, story teased in the main game and smaller, same engine.

Call it additional Content, standalone DLC,, Content based on the main Game, Side Story or whatever, Imo that's not really important

Actually, yes, you are comparing these two studios. Just take a look at your list.

Again:
Sucker Punch is a way smaller, one-game studio.
They released their last game ~2 years ago. Now they are developing a new IP.
So their next game will launch in.... maybe ~2 years.

.

Actually, it does mean something to me. I care more about how many projects they are working on more than how many employees they have.
