I agree, on two conditions:
- Get a good, talented studio on the project.
- Obtain some level of involvement from the original studio, so that the new game is consistent with the previous games in story, tone, character development, and just plain overall quality.
This formula was followed with many of the PSP/Vita entries of established PS2/PS3 franchises. Some notable successes include:
- Ready at Dawn's work on Daxter (working with Naughty Dog)
- Ready at Dawn's work on God of War: Chains of Olympus and God of War Ghost of Sparta (working with Santa Monica Studio)
- BigBig's work on MotorStorm: Arctic Edge (working with Evolution)
- Bend Studio's work on Resistance: Retribution (working with Insomniac)
- Bend Studio's work on Uncharted: Golden Abyss (working with Naughty Dog)
- Sanzaru's work on Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (working with Sucker Punch)
If another studio were given the task of crafting a new inFamous game, then I hope that some of Sucker Punch's veterans will get involved. Judging from Nate Fox's comments in the interview, it seems like he'd be willing to lend a hand if the opportunity became available.
