Insomoniac is a 5-team studio (according to Colin Moriarty). Sucker Punch is a one-team studio. They had 80 people as of a couple years ago. They are not a big studio in terms of AAA development.
Can you disclose which Insomniac team works on this?
Our teams don't really work like that.
The large majority of Insomniac is working on it
Its barely been 2 years since Second Son shipped. And they are probably working in a new inFAMOUS game.
Making a Marvel game that isn't Spider-Man.
In fact, you're supposed to.I was under the impression that you could refer to a company or entity in singular.
Where are Sucker Punch, not is.
You're right. Give me a new IP or a much more fleshed out inFamous sequel involving Cole & Delsin. I honestly think they will be shown at PGW. Gives them a few extra months of time to make a demo since they're slightly behind Sony Bend in development, and they have more free space to shine. So wasting their time huh. Spider Man is the only Marvel super hero that matters. They'd be better off making another inFamous game then.
They were rumored to be developing Spiderman, Insomniac is the developer and they also made in the same period:
Sunset Overdrive (XBO)
Ratchet and Clank (PS4)
Song of the Deep (Multi)
Edge of Nowhere (VR / Oculus)
Spiderman - brand like Rockstady's Batman not just one game (PS4)
what is Sucker Punch doing?
Edit:
I'm not comparing between the studios but just giving a perspective of the period.

A new IP. It takes time
Maybe PSX?
? it's only been a trilogy, the franchise has a lot of potentialI hope they work on a new IP, it's time to give Infamous a rest.
Delsin put me off another Infamous if hes the main character - Id be ok with a new IP that has similar ideas as Infamous though. I:SS just wasnt fleshed out enough and very much felt a launch window game...? it's only been a trilogy, the franchise has a lot of potential

ps3ud0 8)
They've been doing inFAMOUS since 2009, 4 games + DLC in 7 years.. I think that's enough. Not to mention, as a open world game it never delivered in terms of content and variety and the same applies to the bad / good system. Traversal, powers and graphics keep improving but that's pretty much all of it.
I'd like them to try something else now.
I think 3 games and 2 expansions spread out within 2 generations is enough... Especially when there's only one really good game out of the bunch (2nd) and the others are OK.? it's only been a trilogy, the franchise has a lot of potential
Why are people being so petty about grammar or whether or not First Light was DLC? Who cares?
Anyways, I suspect Sucker Punch could have had something ready for e3 but Sony didn't need them.
I think they will either open or close psx this year.
The Infamous 1 and 2 (+ DLC) HD remasters won't make themselves.
Actually I wouldn't mind to see sequel for Infamous Festival of Blood. Or, at least, remaster on ISS engine.
Let's hope it doesn't involve zombies.
They seem to use generations as a point to give devs a chance to explore the capabilities of the hardware and new IP - just look at what they were working on before/after PS3 launched.Probably a new IP if its taking this long to be announced. Looks like Sony gave most of their studios a shot at a new IP this gen.
Sony allowed an AAA game with Robot Dinosaurs and primitive humans, be creative Sucker Punch.
"enough" in what sense of the word? there are video game franchises with over 10 installments.I think 3 games and 2 expansions spread out within 2 generations is enough...
...well that's subjective. i think the only really good title was the original, and the others were okay to good. but i first said that this franchise has a lot of potential.Especially when there's only one really good game out of the bunch (2nd) and the others are OK.
i think it would be fine if they started working on something new but i would also totally be warm to the idea of another infamous game. that'd be worth it just as much.It would help them to work on something fresh IMO (like when they left Sly, like ND working on TLOU, Guerilla working on Horizon, Insomniac working on non-R&C games etc). Then, if they go back to it, it will deliver again (see UC4, R&C).
yeah i wasn't too fond of delsin and his game had a few other issues but it overall was still a good to okay game, in my opinion. the infamous series has the potential to be great in my opinion, it has not reached its full potential like some would argue uncharted or halo has.Delsin put me off another Infamous if hes the main character - Id be ok with a new IP that has similar ideas as Infamous though. I:SS just wasnt fleshed out enough and very much felt a launch window game...

when you say enough, what exactly do you mean? there are video game franchises with much, much longer lifespans. and it's true that it never fully delivered as much as other open world games, but it can. i think the infamous franchise can go much higher if sucker punch decided to do it again and put a lot more into it.They've been doing inFAMOUS since 2009, 4 games + DLC in 7 years.. I think that's enough. Not to mention, as a open world game it never delivered in terms of content and variety and the same applies to the bad / good system.
