Where's the Kena marketing? Its out in 2 days.

We have a winner. Do people think that marketing and publicity just fall out of the sky? This is an indie game. Where was the marketing for Among Us and Fall Guys when they came out?
It definitely looks like a bigger and more expensive game than your typical indie titles. I don't think it's a good idea in this case since it's very likely most people forgot about it after the previous trailers and they don't even know it's coming out. Relying on reviews and word of mouth may not be enough. Or maybe they've taken EGS money and are satisfied with it.

Looks like it's being sent to die. Probably not a ton of confidence or they hope sales will be organic through word of mouth.

Returnal and Kena sales not being great is not great. I like these unique offerings Sony is investing in and hope they continue.
Returnal has a strong cult following that will grow the more people get their hands on PS5. Game is a technical showcase. I doubt Kena will ever get at the same level.

It's an indie game. I think the graphical quality has tricked some people into thinking it's more than it is. Most indie games don't get a big marketing budget.

I fully expect a short 7/10 game which is totally fine with me for something that looks so pleasing.
The best marketing for an indie game is word of mouth. I didn't see Disco Elysium billboard ads at Champions League games.

Great games usually don't need more than basic level of marketing. Besides, reviews are like ads, anyone that follow gaming news will be reminded. Marketing should only be used in regions that have no idea about the game. Gamers in general already know about kena..

I really need reviews for this game. Cinematics look awesome but gameplay... I have too many doubts.

Not really. People will look back at it a the worst game in the gen when all that "wow graphics" factor wears off as that is the only thing getting people excited about it as you can count exclusive PS5 first party games on one hand including Astro's Playroom which is fantastic by the way.

Great games die because of marketing and Sony is expert in that. The opposite is true as awful games sell well because of marketing.

Returnal is my game of the decade. 🤷🏻‍♂️ It's a wet dream for horror dark-sci-fi fans. Best bosses of the generation. And that soundtrack…

They don't care about the games. It is like Project Eve : good to fill the events with pretty graphics. But that's as far as Sony's interest go. Exactly like the Shenmue 3 announcement. This one was really worth the communication impact it had, at the moment. Or Deep Down. Who cares if it gets released anyway ? Sony wants to sell first party games. As soon as they have enough of them to fill their events, third parties won't exist anymore...

For some reason I was never completely sold on it. But I'm eagerly awaiting reviews to see how it turns out.

Mechwarrior 5 is supposed to drop the same day and they don't even have a store page for it. I only found out from a random article that showed up on a news feed.
lol, I probably would've tried Kena, but I haven't played a Mechwarrior game since 2, I'm kinda hyped to play it.

It's an indie platform, the people that would care already know about it. Why waste the money on ads.

Returnal Sales were good.

I'm glad it's not getting delayed since people are downloading it now.

NGL, I thought CDPR was gonna delay Cyberpunk while I was downloading it.

It's strange, we were offered a code but they didn't send it. Maybe they have a mass mailing or code generation issue.

Yes, hype levels are non-existent for the game. I had no idea it was coming any day now.
Maybe the game is a complete shitshow, explaining why they dumped it on EGS.

Yeah this is just a 2-5 h game max that's boringly easy based on all the gameplay I've seen. I doubt the story is amazing to carry it. How much are they asking for the game again?

it is $15 in my country.. pc version on epic.
I mean the game looks like a standard indie game. It isnt even getting a retail release. How many of those get marketing pushes?

this was featured in like 4 state of plays/conferences. If you werent sold then you arent gonna be sold today.

Just because sony is inexplicably charging $40 for an indie game doesnt mean its more than an indie game. Shouldve been priced like hades. $25.

My spidey sense is saying this game is going to be mediocre. They were originally made a cg films and then moved to making this game so of course the cg trailer is going to look nice. My opinion is that they should combine with another studio who focuses mostly on the game while this studio works on the cg cut scenes.

I'll look back at Returnal as GOTY 2021.

Shame. After they went all out for Deathloop. A MS game. Gave kena the cold shoulder.
Ohh someone sounds spicy on this comment, did Microsoft touch you lol damn you sound salty. I'm not surprised though all types of fanboys are bitter I'm sure their life is better too. I can't imagine being bitter over a stupid company or plastic box.

Pretty pricey for a game that can be clocked in 6 hours. €20-25 would have been sufficient.
