As we are approaching the current Gen of consoles anniversary, i was curious to see how many people in this forum have access to one of the current gen hardware.

And if you do have one or multiple of them what are your thoughts ? Was it worth it to be one of the early adopters ?

Have both PS5 and Series X and couldn't be happier.

I love the big boy Sony exclusives on the PS5 and pretty much everything else on the Series X because I use elite style controllers.

Also have a big boy PC though that option isnt on the poll :)

PS5, but also a PC with a Game Pass sub, so basically both.
 
Prior to this gen I always had every Sony and MS console. Even had a Wii for a while, but this gen I decided to stick with XSX. I play xbox the most anyway, so I can live without a few exclusives that I might want to play. Maybe, just maybe I will get PS5 slim or pro near the end of gen, but we will see. First I have to survive that long.
 
Picked up a PS5 several months back and have a PC that just about exceeds both consoles, so PC GamePass pretty much gives me the Series X experience anyway. Did consider a Series S a few times, but eventually convinced myself it would be a pointless purchase

I own both an Xbox Series X (primary gaming console, timed/full exclusives, third party multi-platform games day one Game Pass games and last generation games via BC including The Division 2, AC Origins and AC Odyssey) and PlayStation 5 Disc Edition (secondary full exclusives only gaming console).

Been super happy and satisfied with the Xbox Series X. Super quiet, ultra fast loading times, 60FPS being the focal point and standard for Microsoft makes me very happy. 30FPS is pretty much done for me. Looking forward to 2022 when DirectML, Velocity and other features start getting implemented.

For PlayStation 5, it's been good. No issues but it's just for exclusives as I won't be playing any other games on it. Miles Morales and Ratchet were great. Next guaranteed game will be Horizon II: Forbidden West with Kena being 50/50 due it to being a timed console exclusive as I would rather buy and play it on Xbox Series X so I'll wait to see how that plays out and if the game is any good to begin with.

2021 has been slow for the most part but that's allowed me to catch up on the launch games since I didn't get the Xbox Series X until January 4th and PlayStation 5 until February 14th. 2021 will easily surpass 2014 for me though. This generation is definitely going better than last generation in the same time frame and I do believe that I will get my personal best year ever in 2022 (barring game delays into 2023 of course) and the best generation ever.

So yeah, excellent generation thus far and will only get better as the months and years progress. :messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy:

Yeah I didnt vote because there isn't an option for "everything except an xbox".

Are you Goro and your wife is Sheeva? Your two kids just have two arms though.
 
The PS5 since its release. Depending on the exclusives that Microsoft will provide i could see myself buying a XSX down the line.
 
PS5 + gaming PC. Will probably buy a Series X when everything settles down as I like rest mode and other console gaming benefits
 
Technically speaking, Switch is a current gen console because its an hybrid that came out at the peak of 8th gen right? lol anyway......

Xbox Series X for mostly everything (Gamepass is elite)

Nintendo Switch for it's exclusives

None atm. Got a pc tho.

will buy Xbox series x ASAP. maybe buy ps5 in 2-3 years when there are games for me to play. No reason for one now except to play my PS4 games But I have a PS4 still so no rush
 
PC and Switch.
The Switch doesn't have the newest hardware, but it's Nintendo's most recent console.
So it's kinda of current gen...

PS5 there is not games that im interesting.... Only Demon souls and Horizon.... FF VII REMAKE... And thats all.

Im gonna wait 6 months more.
 
I have a Switch, a Series X, A PC. Eventually I will get a PS5, but there is just nothing that has released that I have to get the console for this.
 
Fat PS5 and Series X. Two beastly consoles I gotta say. Very happy with them both.
