Which game franchises saw direct (numbered?) sequels 10+ years after the last entry?

Not remakes, re-imaginings or spiritual sequels, but direct, maybe-numbered (you pick) sequels released 10 or more years after the last entry. And was the new entry good or bad, in your opinion?

Without using google, I can think of 3 off the top of my head:

Streets of Rage 4 - Excellent, imho. One of the best-playing beat 'em ups in the last several years

Shenmue 3 - Disappointing. I know it was always supposed to adhere to the mechanics/graphics of its prequels, so I was okay with that, but I was shocked they didn't use their golden opportunity to tie up the story.

Baldur's Gate 3 - Amazing. The first two are amongst my top 10 RPGs of all time, and this one joined them up there, feeling like an amazing evolution of the series while still playing pretty dissimilarly.

Beyond the ice palace 2, but really i don't know why they choosed that name, as it is a Castlevania spin off to me

Dragon's Dogma, 12 or so years.

Good game, but very bad sequel.

Beyond Good and Evil 2.

Sarcastic George Costanza GIF

Make me think of Duke Nukem Forever. I think with the whole development he'll, it was more than 10years.
And Duke Nukem forever really fall flat.

Dragon's Dogma 2.

Despite having a bigger budget and more development time and tons of feedback and suggestions from the community over the years, somehow turned out to be a worse game than the original.

What made it worse? I haven't played it yet.

  • Abysmal story, and I say that as someone who actually enjoyed the oft-ridiculed plot/writing in DD1/DA.
  • Every vocation except Warrior lost two active skill slots (down from 6 to 4).
  • Clothing/armor system was dumbed down.
  • Less depth to pawn system. Remember being able to rate hired pawns and provide feedback/praise to their masters? Yeah, that's gone.
  • The titular dragon has practically no screen time or dialogue. Sounds like a nitpick, and maybe it is, but Grigori in DD1 was a big part of what endeared me to the first game. His imposing entrance in the intro followed by him testing you and willing you forward throughout the game, then his tragic end -- he felt like a key part of your journey, and he absolutely stole the show every time he showed up. His counterpart in DD2 feels like a complete afterthought by comparison.
  • Less enemy variety.
Don't get me wrong, there are some improvements and neat additions here and there - I especially loved the camping mechanic, for example - but when the game director tells you "Yes, this is the game I had envisioned and wanted to make twelve years ago if I had the budget that Capcom is giving us now" and what you actually get is a sequel/remake/re-envisioning?? that not only fails to meaningfully progress the franchise in any way but actually takes a lot of steps backwards from its predecessor, it's hard not to feel disappointed. Then you factor in Bitterblack Isle and DD2 simply gets blown out of the water.

Pretty sure that the 'Forever' title was intended to be a play on words of '4-ever', just like how 3D was the third game in the series and the first to be in 3D. 3D ---> 4E.
Yeah, you could be right, the game wasn't good though, so the focus wasn't on that i suppose.

Space Marine 2

My boy Titus returned from the dead in all its majesty. This sequel was something no one expected, some devs even decided to told the original planed story for Space Marine 2 and 3 some years ago because It was impossible to get it back again.

26 years between Garou: Mark of the Wolves and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and it was worth the wait. Best modern fighter by leaps and bounds.

No More Heroes 3 was 11 years after NMH2 on the Wii iirc.

Counter-Strike 2 released about 23 years after the original.

And Star-Craft to Star-Craft 2 was 12 years I think.

Dragon Quest XI to XII is getting there.

Visions of Mana. No main entrey in 10+ years.

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, when this releases, it will have been 10+ years from the last main entry.

Wasteland to Wasteland 2 was 26 years.

No "real" Fallout sequel in 10+ years. Fallout 4 was in 2015.

Unlimited SaGa was the last game in the series for 14 years, until SaGa Scarlet Grace was released.

The Bard's Tale is another series that had a pause, not once, but twice.
