Resetera is planet fitness. They pretend to be this place that’s inclusive for everyone and then end up pulling the lunk alarm on people acting normal or doing anything. Leaving them as kind of a joke, not really a gym at all just a place people eat pizza every Monday

Trump is just a narcissist. When you take away all the headlines, scare mongering and bullshit, things have been pretty good under him.
The only failure was that he was meant to be a hand grenade into the establiahment to make them realize that people were sick of their crazy loony ways and beliefs. Unfortunately they just doubled down on the crazy.

I chill out in the PC and NHL Era Discords. It's a great group of people, many of which who were disbarred from Era. Plenty of rational critique of the site as well. Plus, we got aBan Puncher .

Stuff like that is not rare on resetera, I quit going there a long time ago but recently (I think in this thread) a poster mentioned their thread on lenin and out of curiosity I visited and god it was beyond revolting. One posted a picture of the romanovs and under it "RIP to some good people" or something like that. And no it wasn't genuine, it was the OP who started the lenin thread - he was celebrating the death of the romanov children with glee and mocking them. Vile creatures.

GAF is for people who disagree but can do so the right way. There's plenty of tardos over in PolGaf that act a fool but you leave that shit over there. Letting politics infect other areas of a board is exactly where era started to lose its way. Can't take anything personally or bring ire into every thread otherwise a place starts to be over policed like era is while they try to put out fires with dish towels.

I joined GAF many years ago for gaming specifically. Atm, Era just seems to be more active in terms of gaming related content. I also tend to not get myself involved with politics related threads.
Interestingly though, I find myself back in GAF from time to time just to check out the politics section lol

I joined resetera first before this place, but never posted anything or visited the forum often. I don't like the pastel purple logo and the combination of grey-purple and black-purple accent interface there, not easy on my eyes, also at that time the threads is moving like crazy there, too many posts at one time and I'm too lazy to scroll all of them... I never know the nature of that community until I read the resetera thread in the community section
then I see this place, the interface seems a bit nicer and the number of stream of post is more manageable, so I'm here, but lately the console war become so jarring here that I rarely motivated to discuss things on gaming section anymore, so I resort to the meme world of reddit for my free timesl

I tend to assume everyone on Resetera are former GAFers. So I’m curious, what made you sign up there? How did you come across it? And then what brought you here?

It has been long enough that there are genuine newcomers to both. Ree is still ahead in traffic, so when I google "gaming forum" it's the second hit after PC Gamer and GAF is 5th. Pretty sure the rankings are based on traffic. That said, the absolute value of traffic at any particular point in time isn't what's important -- the rate of change is. GAF is growing while Reeeeeeee is shrinking, so it's nothing but good times ahead.

I acknowledge neogaf from long time ago but as we have local active gaming forum in my country at that time, I couldn't care enough to join other discussion board, but it is died now
then I stumbled on resetera after searching about switch and octopath traveler, and the first time I browsed there I was impressed by the quality of information they provide, everything especially news about beloved jrpg was very updated, and it seems crowded, so I decided to join to keep in touch with the information, even I hate the purple accent slapped on everything there. then I get so busy with my job that I rarely touch gaming for a while lol, then last year I noticed that my english grammar and writing get worse as the time passed by as I never get the chance to do that, so I decided to join the discussion on gaming forum, resetera and reddit were so fast paced at that time for discussion that I couldn't enjoy, metacouncil have more weirder skin than resetera so I try neogaf instead

Reee does have more activity which means its easy to find there communities about any game, even niche ones. And they have persistence.

You need either a company email, student email, ISP email (not Comcast), or some other form of paid email (like an email for a REAL domain with a REAL website). If you make it on the site good luck being an avid poster and not getting banned.
