They must be very young then.I've met plenty of non gamers that don't even know what a Playstation is, but know what an Xbox is.

We can only hope that the smattering of new I.P MS revealed is a good indication of the future.
Yep, news of Microsoft's policy changes are starting to trickle out to the mainstream and I've seen more people decide to get an Xbox One because of it.
As anyone in sales worth their salt will tell you: price isn't what sells, it's emotion.
If price is truly what mattered, then Suzuki would be the #1 carmaker and we'd all be playing on Dynex & not-really-Westinghouse TVs.

"Xbox One permits up to six accounts to be signed in simultaneously, with Kinect able to distinguish between those users by the sound of their voice. You can tell the console to display your friends list, for example, and if another player makes the same request moments later, Xbox One is smart enough to know which list should be on screen."
"You can "follow" up to 1,000 friends, but the number of followers you can ultimately tally is limitless. Your favorite multiplayer pals can be pinned to a favorites section to speed up party formation and get you into a game."
"Microsoft is taking advantage of the console's IR blaster in a big way. The Xbox One can control individual components of your living room setup a TV, receiver, etc. recognizing commands like "Xbox, volume up" to make quick changes. The configuration process reportedly resembles that of a Harmony remote; you simply search for a device in your home theater chain rather than dealing with codes or other cumbersome menus."
Xbox 360 launched with some good exclusives. Then as the gen went on they closed the studios down.Quantum Break? Ryse? Sunset Overdrive? Crimson Dragon? D4? Whatever Black Tusk is working on? Below (timed)?
doesn't seem like regression, far from it in fact.
I hate that thinking. MS tried to f over every single gamer, and their path to success is to hope that the mainstream never finds out?
Pretty much exactly how I feel. The 360 also had a very promising launch that had me very tempted with great games like Kameo and Perfect Dark Zero seemed like a very promising title at the time. Not to mention Project Gotham Racing 4 and Condemned. That was a very promising start and shortly after great jRPGs started being announced like Eternal Sonata, Lost Odyssey, Star Ocean the Last Hope and Blue Dragon.
But after the first few years of the console the number of these exclusives greatly reduced and some of their previously exclusive games started making their way to the Playstation 3. After the Kinect Microsoft significantly reduced development of any exclusive titles that didn't have Forza, Fable, Halo or Gears of War in them and focused their efforts on bringing more software to the Kinect at the expense of most other types of games.
I hope their Xbox One launch titles are a good indication of the future, but this might also just be a repetition of the past.
I've been saying this for so long! Who gives a sh*t what Microsoft's launch titles look like in comparison to the PS4's? Did you buy a console to play launch titles? If so, for the most part you could stick with the current machines.
What is the 360 famous for, to this day? Halo, Halo, Halo, Gears of War, Gears of War, Gears of War, and having the largest Call of Duty community.
CONGRATULATIONS, Microsoft! Achievement unlocked: 5GPMediocrity.
I'm sticking with Sony because time and time again they've proven that they will ALWAYS have the best software lineup by the end of a home console generation. Anyone who's ever wanted to play something other than Halo, Gears of War, and Call of Duty ought to be able to understand.
Only 3 months and roughly 3 weeks until NPD for November is released in December ( I hope they don't hold it back).
Gaf will be down until the next day.
Not even remotely close to all of sony studios closing this gen.Xbox 360 launched with some good exclusives. Then as the gen went on they closed the studios down.
Yeah he forgot Fable and ForzaReally? So my library of over 100 360 games is nothing but duplicate copies of Halo, Gears and CoD?
Fuck. Thanks for the heads up, dodged a bullet there.
Doesn't fit their narrative. Not even remotely close to all of sony studios closing this gen.
lol, was it down back in 2006 with the first npd?
Yep which is why the GameCube ended up doing much better than the PS2 since the system had more power and was a cheaper price.

I suppose that backlash was a pent up rage that accompanies being a Microsoft/Nintendo customer on the Gaf.
Yeah he forgot Fable and Forza.
Not able to make a thread.
The games on Xbone are just better at launch. Bigger lineup and more diverse. If there's anything I don't like about Xbone its that they won't be able to launch in my territory till 2014.
Bigger launch lineup? Where?Sony has a bigger launch lineup and more diverse range of games than Xbox one where as Microsoft has a couple more retail exclusives. Games are games no matter how big or small they are. Microsoft still has some work to do considering their console is not as strong as Sony's and is more expensive. I wonder how Microsoft will handle japan this time around?
Bigger launch lineup? Where?
Your opinion. One that I do not share, as my X1 Day One Edition is paid in full, whereas I have no interest in buying a PS4 at all.
You assume that just because the PS4 is $100 less, that it will be the clear winner, but you fail to comprehend that people just may not like Sony as a company. The only Sony exclusive to even catch my eye is Uncharted, and I refuse to purchase another system solely for that franchise, after looking at the dust my Vita gathered until I finally decided to trade it to upgrade my OG 3DS to an XL.
Personally, I'm just done with Sony. Their recent "we care about the gamers" is nothing than pandering, offensive condescension, and stupid gamers are eating it up with a spoon.
As a gaming "enthusiast" (I will own all consoles as I always do, interested in the industry and new technologies, due to real life cannot commit insane amounts of time with gaming) it is frustrating because I can't help but believe that most people who are interested in MS just don't bother posting here anymore.
They never do. But for some reason it's all about the Indie game since yesterday...Hmmm....I wonder what changed. There's plenty of variety on the 360, especially when you take Arcade into account.
Bigger launch lineup? Where?
My case, GAF is not my home anymore, it is frustrating because I really enjoyed the forum.

True, when you stop looking like a clown inviting people into a DRM filled shitbox, people start to take you seriously and see your good points.
It's not just GAF. Eurogamer leads with "whisper it" because the internet felt the burn of MSoft's old policies.
Your obvious bias?

Eurogamers comments read a lot like GAFs as well. Its just too bad because in PS4 threads there is more substantive topical discussions about the OP, .
While true (I know you didn't reply to me) - there is no escaping Microsoft's vision of the future. They want to shape it instead of letting the consumer lead the way. This is typical of them and we should maintain a watchful eye.You understand that a market with only Sony would be fucking terrible right?
Nintendo is pretty much much doa in this race so we need ms and Sony to be neck and neck so consumers will benefit
this
Why do people feel the need to derail threads just because they do not like the company the topic is about?

We need "a" box to compete with Sony - it doesn't have to be an MS box, though. They've hatched so many half-assed ideas and pulled the plug when consumers didn't bend to their will that I could care less about them anymore. I would rather a forward, consumer focused company push up against Sony than MS. If Valve released a box to compete directly in the console realm it would be amazing to watch. The current "whoops, OK, fine - we'll take it back after we said it wasn't possible" isn't consumer focused - its correcting mistakes in post. Not designing with the consumer in mind. Big difference.
Reactionary isn't the way to blaze trails in the console space. Being proactive and forward thinking is.
Bring on another gladiator, I say.
Really? So my library of over 100 360 games is nothing but duplicate copies of Halo, Gears and CoD?
