Curse you XS+ ! The 80s was the best decade EVER! Best bands, best cartoons, best fashion, best movies, best trends, and just an all around "feel good" era. Hell, even radio was good back then.
Well maybe my beef shouldn't be specifically classified as control problems.. anyway let's take Space Invaders for instance. The engine or whatever only allowed you to fire one laser shot onscreen, which makes for an uninteresting timing issue. And I recall Donkey Kong having questionable collision problems with barrells, making for more-precise-than-necessary ladder climbs and jumps. I dunno whether to place the blame directly on control, but I just hate how damn restricting some of the gameplay was at that time. I don't have any problems with most games from the latter half of the 80s though.
