see i was worried this'd be like TP again (where the GC version was clearly superior) but hearing that it doesn't seem to use tablet controls much, switch all the way for me - it's pretty much this + bomberman at launch
Same.

This.
Switch version all the way.
Edit:
There's also a larger difference in hardware between Wii U and Switch than there was between GameCube and Wii --
-- Remember, Twilight Princess had some framerate problems on the Gamecube in Hyrule Field. The Wii used the same CPU/GPU chipset clocked 1.5X faster.
Not true. I bought a Wii on launch date alongside Zelda TP for it and I had a GC.The same people who bought Twilight Princess on the GameCube, I guess.
Honestly seeing the switch trailer and how it ran on the Wii u a few months ago... I think the Wii u might even be superior. The conference unsold me on the Switch.
I will be picking up Zelda on the Wii U. I hope it runs okay.
Yeah i have a feeling that it might actually have better performance on WiiU. Developers switched to completely new architecture( even though it's supposed to be more dev friendly ) from the one they used since GameCube era. This was initially supposed to be a Wii U killer app, aren't there any special uses of the Wii U touch pad? Is the Switch supposed to be notably more powerful? I'm thinking the Wii U might be the better option.
Oh wow, now I'm interested in the Wii U gamepad features. Because the Wii U version could actually turn out to be the definitive version of the game considering the Switch dropped the tablet + TV gaming thing. This was initially supposed to be a Wii U killer app, aren't there any special uses of the Wii U touch pad? Well if you have a friend with a Wii U you cask them to lend you the console for a couple of days so you can rip them. I have Wii U games and I do not have a Wii U, but I will get a Wii U from a friend in a couple of weeks so I can dump them all.great -.- so looks like I have to buy a switch since I dont own a wii u anymore..
You can dump Eshop games as well, you can find instructions in the Wii U homebrew and CEMU threads. Can you dump eShop games too or is it only physical discs? Have a handful of digital games that I'd love to play.
Nice. What type of GPU do you have? Wondering how high I could push my 1080.
I have a 1080 too (clocked at 2 GHz).Nice. What type of GPU do you have? Wondering how high I could push my 1080.
This is true in general, but I'd guess if you want to run a game at 5k it also becomes GPU dependentThe emulator is also more dependable on CPU than GPU.

Still, a 1080 is ~50x as fast as the Wii U GPU, so rendering 16 times as many pixels should be no problem.
Nope. I'll take the version that actually does the art justice.
Then why not... Unplug the console, take it to your room, and have it running in your room? Was thinking about it but the portability is a huge deal for me. WiiU signal doesn't reach my bedroom. Switch version for me.
Yeah I might hold on for Switch until Splatoon 2.
Those prices, paid online, the line-up, it all feels like Wii U 2.
We didn't see any unified library, where are the portable games?
Looks like Nintendo might plan a new portable and Switch is really seen as a home console.
Considering I may never get a Switch, I don't have any other option.
^
Only option right now, really.
