I'm concerned about the frame rate as well.
BUT, keep in mind that this game was primarily developed for Wii U, and The Switch is very different hardware wise (not just the same architecture with more power ala Wii).
So we'll see how things pan out!

Not true. I bought a Wii on launch date alongside Zelda TP for it and I had a GC.
On the other had I may end up with this Zelda on WiiU since the Switch is not doing it for me.

Yeah, definitely, can't really justify the Switch just for Zelda with so many other games also coming out over the next few months. Hopefully the framerate isn't another Hyrule Warriors on the 3DS situation.

Honestly never thought I'd be saying this today, but I really think I will get the Wii U version now. I was convinced I'd be pre-ordering a Switch this afternoon, but not any more. It's just not worth it just for a prettier version of a game I can already play day one, especially not at that AU price.
Hopefully the Wii U framerate isn't too wretched, but CEMU seems to be coming along nicely.

Man, if Nintendo can't even convince Nintendo fans to buy the Switch for Zelda, the machine is well and truly fucked. Interesting responses in here for sure.
Couldn't agree more, though, really. I don't even have a Wii U and was putting my hopes in the Switch having a decent launch price/lineup so I could bite the bullet for Zelda, but that's one hell of a nope. Maybe after a price drop.

there is no way i'm gonna buy the switch, even though the new REAL 3D mario game looks fucking amazing, but still not gonna buy the switch just for mario

Yeah I'll be picking up the Wii U version for sure. I wouldn't mind a Switch eventually for Mario but it's just too expensive and I'm not a fan of Nintendo charging for online at all. Compared to MS and Sony I think it's actually a major mistake for Nintendo to do this, killing their online enabled games at the first hurdle.
Honestly seeing the switch trailer and how it ran on the Wii u a few months ago... I think the Wii u might even be superior.

Yeah i have a feeling that it might actually have better performance on WiiU. Developers switched to completely new architecture( even though it's supposed to be more dev friendly ) from the one they used since GameCube era.

Oh wow, now I'm interested in the Wii U gamepad features. Because the Wii U version could actually turn out to be the definitive version of the game considering the Switch dropped the tablet + TV gaming thing.
I might. I manage to grab the Master Edition for the Switch version but if that launches after the Switch I might keep my Wii U preorder from when I ordered the game months ago because of the Prime discount. I'll cancel the preorder for the regular Switch version that way I don't end up with two copies. Then I'll play the Wii U version until the Switch version comes.

Me, i'm keeping my WiiU preorder until i can secure a Switch copy and then i'll decide what to do with the WiiU version.
Well if you have a friend with a Wii U you cask them to lend you the console for a couple of days so you can rip them. I have Wii U games and I do not have a Wii U, but I will get a Wii U from a friend in a couple of weeks so I can dump them all.
You can dump Eshop games as well, you can find instructions in the Wii U homebrew and CEMU threads.
The emulator is also more dependable on CPU than GPU.
Yup. Starting cost of console PLUS paid online PLUS cost of accessories PLUS abysmal library and third party support from March to Christmas means Switch looks like the first Nintendo home console I'll be ignoring (unless you count the Virtua Boy, which I'm pretty sure nobody really does). I was always going to be cautious given how often modern Nintendo consoles have taken early price cuts, but the clear, concise reveal trailer from October had me optimistic I'd get one at some point. Unless circumstances take a very strong change (more apologies for lessons not learnt?), no longer.

Amusingly, the Switch conference allowed me to preorder the Wii U Zelda immediately upon its conclusion with no regrets. I'd been wavering with the temptation of a Switch and Zelda, but the conference made me feel that the Switch is not a good investment at this time and I should play Zelda on the console I originally bought it for in the Wii U.
I'm aware emulators are typically more CPU intensive but I would imagine playing at 720p vs 4K wouldn't really change CPU performance?
Speaking of which would an i7 2600k at 4.3Ghz be good enough? Those 60fps games like Bayonetta have me worried.

My thoughts as well. Was pretty hyped but now I´ve calmed down and have remembered that it´s never a good idea to buy a console at launch, thanks to some things that´ve been revealed in the event. Will wait until Switch becomes a finalised product, in the meanwhile I have plenty of WiiU games I still want to play.
