Who will have the biggest E3 surprise?

The Last Guardian... coming to a PS5 near you winter 2019.

Actually though, I think the biggest surprise might be how lackluster this E3 ends up.

I think if there are surprises it's going to be Sony with an amazing 1st party title or Microsoft with a huge 3rd party money hat.

I'll say Sony.

It should be Nintendo or Microsoft because I feel they both need it. But who knows? Maybe they'll both underdeliver again. I have no idea what to expect this year.

And calling Nintendo "Ninty" is the worst. I hate that.

A good way to bring a surprise at things like E3 is to tie it to a milestone or achievement. Like a 20th anniversary or something.

I got excited but then I realized this was two years ago and also the ps1s 20th anniversary. Oh shit, didn't mean to bump.

Considering Nintendo has confirmed they have nothing but Zelda, I am going to say one of the third parties will have the biggest surprise most likely ubisoft or EA.

I feel like Sony just blew a huge load last year, and nothing new they show this year will top it. Microsoft, I dunno they might show something really cool, or more of the usual suspects.

...this thread is from 2014.

Probably Sony, but in a way I hope it's Microsoft.Id like them to drop some big bombs....I'm speaking selfishly of course, because I'd like them all to appear on PC as well as there own Xbox One

I'm betting in the option - No One

Sony is pushing on VR and maybe PS4.5 - Both of them are very dangerous minefields and none of them is in my interest
Microsoft is struggling to find its way between XBox brand and PC enviroument. New Xbox doesn't seem to be the solution to regain market. On the software hand they seem to be in the same boat, nothing new seems to be on the way...
Nintendo is showing a 2017 title. Maybe will be a great game but it won't be enough to me

I disagree re: last guardian. It's had its troubles, and that's putting it mildly. But it was part of their big surprise trio last year where they showed the progress they'd made. As a result of that, it should be completely expected to be a part of this year's line up.
It's not happening is it.

Nintendo will show the NX after all

Yeah, the stupid ass me still has hope. You'll never convince me that they'd rather unveil their new system through their shitty directs that - relatively speaking - only nineteen people watch instead of the world's biggest gaming conference. Especially with a March 2017 release.

Sony with The Last Guardian NEO

Fixed. So they can finally move the game as intended.

My most expected reveal was NX, but seeing as we are getting nothing on that camp and I'm going to Blackout as much as possible Zelda so I don't get spoiled, I think I'm pretty open to surprises right now.

Then again, this is Nintendo.

Sony have been brilliant at managing their PR, even when doing things like last year at E3, by announcing games that sound brilliant, but then you see that one megaton was announcing a Kickstarter, a fighting game that ended up released incomplete, a remake of a 20 year old game and a game seemingly so lost in development that it's still not out. In fact, none of the 3 "megatons" were even near ready and aren't even out yet. A year later.

That said, their PR skills have been tested somewhat with the reaction to Neo, which has been decidedly mixed, so on the hardware side, they have a job on their hands.

Software-wise, they'll announce a typical mix of crowd-pleasing remakes(Crash), though it won't release until 2017/18, mixed with some genuinely interesting new IP. They'll drop a big VR game during E3 too, to get a spike in Hype.

MS will really push for some kind of surprise hardware/OS announcement. Not necessarily the rumoured upgrade, but maybe. Even so, I think they'll announce some kind of new OS innovation to try to get the most from their system. They can't beat PS4 on grunt, but they can push functionality as their USP. I imagine that the announced DVR will go live just before E3 as well.

On the software front, MS will have some of the high-end indies announced as "Available today". Possibly Inside or Below. There will be a Titanfall 2 beta on EA Access announced, available or very soon. One new big IP to be announced. Thankfully, most of what MS announce will be playable in 2016.

Nintendo, I have no clue. With NX apparently not playing a role, they really are in Limbo right now.

It has to be MS, considering all Sony ble last year, and Nintendos statements. If not the awesomeness of Zelda will be enough to surprise?

2014 lol

I hope the stuff at E3 is thing we will actually get to play in the near future. Starting to hate the waste of time on games 2 or 3+ years away.
