Why are you a fanboy? (if you are)

I understand having a preferred platform, I used to love PS1/2 when they were a thing and didn't care for others. Then I moved to PC where I still like to game the most, though I owned X360, 3 PS3s and a PS4 for a little in-between.
Never ever did I feel like belonging to a group, never did I feel superior or inferior to other gamers, even rn when I literally run a 1030, waiting for new GPUs etc, I don't feel small or inferior to people with a 5090 or whatever. Wouldn't that be idiotic? Most importantly, I never felt bad or like loosing when I couldn't play a game on my preferred platform, or jealous PS5 owners get to play GT7 for example (series I love so much) and I can't. I can't yet it doesn't even cross my mind to buy a PS5 for it, it's what it is. Now what is it about the fact that I or someone else can't play GT7 or DeS remake on PC, Xbox or whatever, that makes you happy, and how is that not childish, immature and absurd? If Age of Mythology came out on PS5 or Switch tommorow, am I to throw fits online, crazy? Also isn't it a lot smarter for us to stand neutral in this context, and critically pick whatever suits us best, i.e today I may get Nvidia, tommorrow AMD, then Intel or Sony if that's the best choice for me as a buyer or user? Why the hell would I pick sides for someone who doesn't give a damn for me anyhow? In the end, use what you like to use to game on, why waste time on pointless dickwaving, bashing, derriding others when it's supposed to be about enjoying games primarily? I'd rather we all be gamers first and foremost, and collectivelly demand quality games and products, instead of eating shit, thank you!

Yes, it would be very idiotic.
Fanboys are the most cringy and silly thing in this industry. Only the youtube clowns like dr disrespect are more cringy.

I remember wearing a Sonic the Hedgehog t-shirt while queuing to buy Sonic 3 on launch day as a kid. Yeah those Sonic MegaDrive games were my first gaming love. I’ll agree Sony and Nintendo both did things better, but my heart has always been with Sega.

I did go through a phase of being a bit of an Xbox fanboy in the mid-00s mainly due to my Halo multiplayer addiction, yeah that didn’t last long.

Looking back on my 30 odd years of gaming I’ve probably got the most enjoyment out of Sony and Nintendo’s hardware.

And just think of all of the stuff you win when they make money. It's like being rich and famous without being either of those things.

I’m a Nintendo fanboy because I enjoy playing games on bare minimum power level and with archaic online options!

I am a Sony fanboy because I love the fact they take advantage of their users at every opportunity!

I am XBOX fanboy because I love investing in a directionless company!

I am PC fanboy because I enjoy the excitement of hoping a game will work and jumping through the numerous hoops!

I am a VR fanboy because there is nothing quite like feeling like you have been out in rough seas after playing for 45 minutes!

You know what worse than fanboys? The guy who hates and complains about everything.

PlayStation is my preferred gaming system cause I have spend alot of money on digital games and plus I been with PS since 1995.

But I have also giving Nintendo and Microsoft a chance.

2007 I owned a 360
2022 I owned a Series X

Overall I enjoy the 360 But when I got the Series X it was just hard to start over since I already have all my digital games on PS.

On Nintendo my last Nintendo system was the SNES back in 1994 and since I just haven't care to buy another Nintendo system not cause I dislike them but because none of there franchise interest me.

I typically buy everything. I just have my preferences like everyone else. Love Nintendo, used to love Xbox, used to love PlayStation.

PS5 is the first PlayStation console I've skipped.

Series X is the first Xbox console I barely use.

As soon as PlayStation makes something that speaks to me I'll stop giving them shit.

I am not a fanboy but I do lean more toward Sony. I do not think I started out that way but as more shills tried to pile on PlayStation I found myself defending Sony a lot. In reality, I have, and will probably always own all console and PC. My favorite video game company up to now was Atari, followed by old Nintendo and then Sega. Sony falls behind that. Above all, I am a fan of video games so I want what works best for the health of the market.

I don’t see myself as a fanboy (unless talking about Commodore) but I certainly have a preference. For food, cars, phones, music, guitars, movie genres, women features, and yes game platforms too.

It’s normal. But thinking that everything I don’t prefer is pure shit is not normal and that’s usually how fanboys talk now.

Because I am 10 and can't enjoy life without constant affirmation. Plus my uncle works at Nintendo.

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
Not really a fanboy. Started life pretty much multiplat. My family (older brothers) found a way to get all the systems in the early years. Had some tougher times when we might only have one of the consoles, or have to play stuff at friends houses...

As an adult, I have opinions and preferences. But at the end of the day, don't really give a shit... just want a good experience and not feel like I'm bending over for some dipshit fucking CEO who's ruining the industry, making so much of the hobby miserable, while wearing a golden parachute. Seriously, fuck those motherfuckers.

I used to be a fanboy when I was a kid because I couldn't afford to buy whatever I wanted. Had to justify my choice.

I'm a fanboy of paragraphs and syntax. This post reminds me of trying to converse with the wife after 3 bottles of Oyster Bay.

Not a fanboy. Just a fan. PS has always met my gaming needs and only pissed me off once with the Vita.

Customer service has been good and they fixed HW for me a month out of warranty so I appreciated it.

I've tried everything and have a gaming PC but just a 3080 soon to be upgraded.

Their products work and im.a fan of single player games.

They aren't perfect but I like their ecosystem.

Fanboys are pathetic, but very amusing, especially when they're getting upset over their favourite video game console.

Feel free to direct me to some funny fanboy meltdowns. I enjoy a chuckle

I cherish the moments I’ve had with many of my PlayStations. That’s why I must spread hate towards modern age PlayStation: it must be course corrected to be good again. Fanboys who agree with everything a brand does are not fans of their core roots. They are just picking a side.
