someone should actually tell me what is so great about watching other people play video games through a stream? My nephews are all in on it, and it’s just nauseating to me lol.
I get walkthroughs, or competition, but just watching them play? Huh.

It's just like watching tv. Before streaming became a thing the tv was always running while being on the computer. The tv in my case has been in disuse for over 10 years now. Depending on the streamer and the content it's just background noise on the second or third monitor while doing something else or if the content is good I will stop doing whatever I was doing but that would still just be a few minutes before continuing what I was doing.

You know IRL streamers are a massive draw on the site, right?

Plenty of streamers don't even play games and make major cash.

I honestly don't understand Twitch's appeal at all. But then again I play video games, not watch them.
