Perhaps its just pointing out things to use homing attack on. It looks like a cursor but obviously it can't be due to the way the game is controlled.

i think you missed the first screen which clearly shows a pointed chin...the one you're looking at is the rosy-cheeks feature, which does show a rounded head...

First of all, this game looks sweet. These screens (and some artwork on Famitsu) suggest that the balls may have different characteristics. One looks like a marble, while one looks like wood. One looks like there's a man inside of it, while another one looks like a rounded pig. Maybe each ball will play differently. Look close. There's a penguin, and a football too. Hmmm...

Second, check out these environments and how big they look!
