Wii Screen Shot Thread (56k no)

I found this interesting. Maybe you will too.

Gamecube version of Cars:

Wii version:

Definitely a noticeable difference.

Why?
There are a few shots like that of many games.
Its only because of people comparing Wii to 360 and PS3 that it looks bad.

It doesn't look that good in the THQ kids video on IGN - source. But yeah, lets wait and see, I don't see why Wii shouldn't be able to do that, I'm just not expecting much of THQ's launch lineup.

I still don't like how the (d-pad) and the weapon info layout take so much space :(

Its as if they're supporting 16x9 but the HUD items are still placed as if the screen was 4x3...

Actually, I think you're right. That's exactly what it looks like.

Although, I don't think it will bother me too much. That kinda stuff (HUD) has a way of disappearing to the minds eye after about 10 minutes. One's mind naturally blocks that stuff out, like streaks on a windshield, or the way your socks feel in your shoes. I BET YOU JUST NOW WIGGLED YOUR TOES, HUH?

To think that Gamecube could do those type of graphics is amazing and really proves it's superiority in console strength.

Absolutely beautiful. But do you guys think it looks better than RE4?

I'd say they seem on par. Zelda is beautifully designed and very expansive, but RE4 was more detailed. It's going to be amazing, folks.

I actually think it looks pretty shitty compared to RE4 (although textures could get ugly in there too) or Wind waker. There, I said it.

I think it should be fine too. I'm just happy Nintendo is supporting Widescreen for Zelda. Its just going to be awesome to have that panoramic view of Hyrule. It also makes a game feel more epic :D

Will there be a letterbox mode if you want to get a wider view on a 4:3 tv? I'm guessing no, but that would be keen.

I'm almost certain there is. There's a screenie floating around here of the options page and that is one of them. 4:3, Letterbox, Widescreen.

Really? THis game seems to etch out over it it in every direction except lighting. Animation, detail, environments, effects, draw distance?, artstyle

I can't say that you have a lot of credibility when it comes to being unbiased in reference to Nintendo games. Would you like a link to your posting history?

Those are Wii screens, not GameCube.

Kororopina

If this isn't one of those games that has tetris-like appeal (hardcore and non-traditionals), I'm not sure what would be.

That looks sweet. :D

Agreed. That is my favorite shot out of all of them. Honestly, I would love to see a SSX-style (nighttime, neon, fireworks, trance music) treatment to the game. It could be quite enchanting indeed.
