Wow, how many mini-games in that Monkey Ball, is it like the main focus of the game now or what? (not that i'd mind that)

There's 50 minigames, but also 90 stages of traditional monkey action. Definately a must-have for Monkey Ball fans (like me).

No doubt, but I'm pretty sure it will be similar to Rayman RR. As in, the mini-games will be presented in a linear format that you complete over time to ultimately achieve a goal (like free the monkey princess or something).

I would assume that once one has played a mini-game that it would then become accessible from the main menu. Let me look this one up and confirm.

What annoys me is that in order to unlock a minigame in SMB I am forced to play the MAIN game, the one where you have to drive a ball to a finish line, which is something completely different (and less amusing than the mini games, honestly).

I honestly don't like much the main game, I just play the minigames so in the end the previous SMB were like "work first, party after".

If it's like RRR, where you play the mini games right from the start, it would be ok.

you know what? I'd have liked to see Monkey Ball: BB incorporate the Mii's. Since I want SMB: BB, Zelda + Wii Play at launch. Wario Ware can wait till it drops in price.

Edit: and Wii Play looks really nice, can't wait to play Tank + Billiards on that thing, and Laser Hockey too.

Yeah, there's also another practise mode in Wii Tennis, you just have to return about 10 balls from CPU, if you miss 3 or something it ends. The wall practise looks more fun.

Indeed, but does anyone else think these Wii play games would be better suited to the virtual console? I mean, that tank game can't take up too much space and it looks awesome. I don't want to end up paying $30-40 for the Wii Play compilation, when there are really only a few games on it that I want.

Agreed, perhaps they will become available on VC similar to how xbox live arcade games are available on DVD as well as downloads.

Refer to my post that suggested/implied that mini-game compiliations are really just testing ground for new material to be sold as stand-alones at a later date.

I got to play the wii excite truck at ebgames today. The graphics are defintely not next gen but they are very sharp. The controler weighed exactly how it should and had a good response rate overall (sometimes it felt delayed but I dont think this would be an issue if I was really into the game). My current worry with the wii is if the games on the system without the controler gimic would still be fun to play. Excite truck felt like it would be the type of game I would find in the cheap games bin for the xbox1. I'll have to play the system again with another game like zelda or with the boxing wii sports title before I am sold on the system.

Train simulator from Taito. Now will it be more along the lines of Railroad Tycoon (TM), which is a brilliant excercise in business-gaming, empire-building and upgrading/improving/managing the innerworkings of such, or will it be HAY IM IN UR TRAYN DRIVIN UR PASSENGRZ?

Besides the "dur" comment, Fire Emblem Wii used to be a "game looks cool", to a "must have now" after having played thru FE POR in the cube.
