This event is being held by EA Sports IIRC so I imagine unlikely we'll get anything else but sports.

EA may think about using that as an example of the U's demographic but the sales of ZombiU, Aliens Colonial Marines and perhaps Assassins Creed 3 and Darksiders 2 will say different. ZombiU alone is going to sell an absolute shitload imo, and Aliens Colonial Marines is, going by what Gearbox have said, going to be better in terms of eye candy and gameplay. At the end of the day eye candy sells games, always has done and always will do.
Bringing late ports to a new console is pretty risky tbh, Arkham City and Mass Effect 3 might not do so well, although it all depends on eye candy and how they implement the GamePad. Certainly going to be interesting to see how they both do.

Absolutely. I mean unlike the Vita, the Wii U GamePad doesn't even have its own processor.
Clicks aren't that bad though. Not like any of us end up buying stuff from ads on those links. I thought the video was quite funny actually. Take this gem for instance.

The best thing is NSMBU and Uncharted 3 have completely different art styles and NSMBU is a sidescroller that isn't even meant for full detail like Uncharted is.
I'll get the black one if I have the option. But I won't complain if it only comes in white. Don't really care too much about the looks as it's just tucked away unless it's in use. I do hope it has some cool neon lights and glowy'ies/lazers though. I'm a sucker for those kinds of things.

Likewise I'll try and get black but if white's all they have I'd rather have the machine.

I'd rather go with black, seems like a white border around the screen would make it look washed-out.

I think I'd be fine with a white Wii U, but I really hope Nintendo puts out both black and white at the start to give some options. I've seen quite a few people on GAF say that they won't even purchase the console if it's not available in black.

It might, those people can say "ok I'll wait to buy it when the Black version releases" so Nintendo better release it in Black.
This is me. If it's not in Black, I won't pick it up. The mistake they made this time is showing the black Wii U all over the place. I even got to hold the black Wii Pad in my hand. So if they don't release it in the beginning, then they're simply doing what they did with the Wii and holding colors to boost sales later. Unfortunately, that will mean they will lose sales to people who know the colors exist and are waiting for the color they want. Doesn't make much sense to hold the colors now. Both of them are shown together on their website, so my guess is that they're gonna have both colors available.

Regardless, Zelda tech demo and UC3 are comparable. NSMB relies on simple, yet pretty, graphics.
While I generally agree, comparing a Zelda demo to UC3 is MUCH more fair than comparing a simple NSMB title to UC3.

Wait, why can't people compare the Zelda tech demo to Uncharted 3? I can totally see how people can say that looks better.
It's a bit of a preference thing isn't it? For instance, I think Mega Man 9, Wind Waker and Trine look better than UC3.
Technically it's apples and oranges, never minding the fact one is a tech demo and another is a on-shelf game.
Strictly speaking, I don't expect EAD teams to be able to compete with Naughty Dog technically overall, at least not for a good while.

FS' has me wondering if Nintendo's modified the cache amounts in the GPU. Considering what GC/Wii had I wonder if they would actually take a step back from 1MB. Xenos had 32KB texture and 8kb(?) of vertex cache. RSX 576KB total L1/L2 texture cache (couldn't verify if it had vertex cache). And focusing strictly on amount that even exceeds the total cache in the 7970 and 680. I wonder how it would be implemented with the GPU and I can see that along with the eDRAM being very important.
Nothing special maybe, but heavily relied upon. And considering Nintendo's efforts to win over 3rd parties, you can't completely rule out the notion. Also I think that initial small boost came from just having actual hardware as I believe the bump happened before the tweaking.

So reading over the hardware gossip via the last few pages am I right in assume the Wii U CPU is clocked at 1GHz and the GPU/RAM can only handle 8-bit textures at 256x256? But has nice blur I guess?

I think GEG's analysis may be more accurate for the CPU. That texture size might be pushing it.

Have you seen nintendo's warchest? It's massive. They can afford 3 of those cpus in each of those Wii ipad controllers. Easily.
