We don't know how far pikmin3 was developed on wii but is it not easier to get the game looks good when elements were already made and later upgrading them than beginning from nothing?

What I want to say is that people act like the game is cursed by beginning on wii, I guess to make it impressive that's more a budget problem than working on upgrading it.
And for what we see, it looks like the heavier has been made graphically, saw some pics in the n-conf thread yesterday, great work.

You should start a thread on about it.

It's the standard price for new 360/PS3 games in mainland Europe. With the recent increase in UK imports some shops have started dropping the price to 45 Euro, but most new games, hell even some year old games cost 69 Euro, Special Editions 79 Euro.
Still doesn't make sense. €45 is probably the most sane figure, given that that's roughly $60 USD. Never understood why game companies are so keen to rip you Europeans off.

If ClovingWhateverHeCallsHimselfNow thinks it's a good idea, it's probably an awful idea.

Well I do appreciate the recommendation. I thought it was pertinent and valuable information so I created a thread for GAF's input and to provide them with the most recent update from Nintendo regarding Call of Duty.

I for one thank you for furthering the already stellar discourse here on neogaf.

You truly are an internet hero.

A thread where 90% of the replies are "lol Nintendo", "Haha they're delusional" "FRIEND CODES RABBLE RABBLE!" and stupid GIFs.

I can't control what other people post. It's valuable information to learn what Nintendo sees regarding COD and the Wii U.

You really are so unbelievably full of shit. You have zero interest in spurring a reasonable discussion, and take the intellectually lazy route of just repeating the article headline, as if it gives you cover.

You are part of the reason the main forum has gone to hell.

I'm sorry you feel that way schuelma.

You could start by having a reasonable assessment of what to post as the title.

You used the same excuse in the Iwata online thread as the CoD one.

Just because a site uses it as a headline doesn't mean it isn't your responsibility to vet it to make sure it matches up the content presented.

An omission by ignorance is still an omission.

God, you people get your panties bunched up all to easily these days.
Nintendo makes a silly statement, and GAF laughs for a bit. Calm down.

Nintendo makes a silly statement, and GAF laughs for a bit. Calm down.

But it isn't a silly statement.

Nintendo isn't saying they will convert the 20 million CoD players.

They are saying, that it is very possible that some would prefer playing CoD on the Wii U. The CoD games on the Wii sold like a million + a piece so he isn't wrong in that some people would prefer it.. or simply transition from the Wii to the Wii U for that franchise.

Penguin,

I appreciate your concern but it's something that we're just going to have to agree to disagree, while still remaining civil and friendly. I don't mean to offend nor hurt my fellow GAFers. I found it very interesting and felt that the rest of GAF would too. Nintendo is a fantastic company and we all hope that they have success this next generation.

That little black stand is cool since you can put it vertically (then aim with Wiimote or use video conference) or 'skywards' (useful for ground view like in Wii Fit jumping)

Some ideas are really cool, but shame that only Zombi U puts them on a complete game ATM.

Hardware is supper well done and finished. HQ product there for sure. Buttons are more like DS and D-pad is super comfortable and great size. Screen responses great to fingers, better than 3DS. Doesn't look fragile. Light and useful pad. LZ and RZ are digital, but feeling is ok.

Bigger and more images inside.

This isn't about Nintendo, oddly enough.

Its a growing concern in the industry.. and on these forums.

I've always disliked the notion of sensationalism. It doesn't add substance and really doesn't help with public discord.

Since most of this thread and the last one, are either 1) Knee-jerk reactions to the thread title 2) People trying to explain or "Damage control" the message or 3) You defending your choice of thread title because someone else used it so you figured it was fine.

Where do you see much discussion about the topic at hand?

Did you notice any of the compression artifacting on the controller? I heard people complaining about that.

I have an idea: Let's speculate about stuff instead of not speculating about stuff:

Old timers (and true retro freaks) Name me a pre-NES franchise that had not seen an entry in the last decade that you think could benefit from any of the features which the Wii U sports. Or just name such a game that you'd like to see again, and how you think it will be evolved for current times.

For me? "U Combat", a sequel to the hit pack-in which helped put Atari on the map. Instead of just tanks and planes, other forms of vehicle are represented, including boats and bikes. In addition to the returning multiplayer modes, a new battle type pits the GamePad-holding player, who can (in Missile Command fashion, edit: albeit overhead) fire bombs, with a transit delay, at points in the screen in an attempt to take out all Combatants or defend a fort area or whatnot.

pre-edit: Ah, I see people are doing controller porn now. It's much better than the weird clashing that was going on. Nonetheless, my challenge above stands!

I still want StarTropics, but know it won't come back.. the idea of using the gamepad to pilot the Sub-C, with all sorts of upgrades, scanners, and on-board weapons seems like it'd be interesting.

I'd also like a return to Atari's Haunted House, where the gamepad acts as a nightscope or some sort of spectre-detector. :p

Not gonna happen, 'cause 13-year-olds think Nintendo is for kids.
I just wanted to say.. I laughed at this response in the Call of Duty thread heartily. Good show, old bean!

And Schuelma, don't lament the main forum's state; we have the power to make this a great place to discuss all things Nintendo! (*laughs*)

I know analog triggers are a must but losing them won't really matter much. Like I said, PC didn't have any problems without them.
Keyboards also don't have analog sticks or accelerometers or d-pads or yada yada yada. There are things controllers do a lot better.

Yay, great to now.
Can I ask you if also "your" Gamepad was so light?
If it had both battery and rumble inside, I'm really impressed about how light it is...
it seems a Wii Ccpro for its weight :\

i didn't really have a problem with it until i had to start one-handing it. the ninja star mini-game in nintendoland was probably the least comfortable.

and yeah, i'm talking about rumble in the gamepad, not the ccpro. i don't remember if there is any in the ccpro or not.

Not pre-NES, but I'd love to see a modern revival of "Kung Fu." There's alot of potential there for asymmetric gameplay w/ 2 players on Wii Remotes playing as the heroes and one person on the Gamepad acting as the floor boss. The floor boss could plant cronies strategically w/ an overhead perspective of the floors (now in full 3D), and even take direct control to duke it out w/ the heroes whenever need be. There would be a variety of options for the baddies - swords, stars, knives, nunchucks - all the standards.

Keep the gameplay simple, maybe add in some motion controls, offer a variety of floors/buildings (create your own?), and I think it could be a blast to play w/ friends.

Dammit Skies you crazy Falcons fan, look at what your thread turned into.

I thought it was pertinent and valuable information so I created a thread for GAF's input and to provide them with the most recent update from Crytek on the WiiU's power.
:p

Seriously though, I figured someone was going to eventually make a thread about it; why not me?

EA should fund out an indie developer to make a new Ultima game, but keep it within the general bounds of Ultima 5. After that was when it got complex, and item management took place above running around playing a role. They should target it for a Keyboard/Mouse interface and a touchscreen. I would kill to see something like that. Set it between 4 and 7. It doesn't even have to star "The Avatar". You could even play it as Britannian peasant who strives to bring back the the code of the Avatar by following the example that the long missing Avatar had once upheld.

It should be overhead on a grid, and everything should just be a flat representation. Take out the complexities. Put the complexities in the story and for the characters.

$1,000,000 budget. No more. No voice acting. A designer, a writer, a small number of programmers, and one or two artists. A year to design and implement.
