So can you control WIi software with the gamepad? and wiimote only games?
It makes your gamepad a tiny tv with a built in sensor bar.

N64 games look pretty good on the gamepad. They also switch to 4:3 automatically, which I don't think Wii VC games did before(?)
This is what I need to know! My TV won't let me switch HDMI to 4:3 manually!
This is what I get when I login:
No. The Gamepad will display Wii games now, but that's it. You still have to use a Wii remote, or like with VC games, a classic controller plugged into a Wii remote. So can you control WIi software with the gamepad? and wiimote only games?
Whenever you touch a button on the gamepad:

Can someone please check this?

It might be just me but the eShop seems a lot more fleshed out and faster too.
Yes, VC is running at 4:3.
I'm guessing the NEXT firmware update will give gamepad functionality too Wii software.
Ah well, it's a start.
I'm thinking that the game-pad acts as a Classic Controller and any game that doesn't support the Classic Controller will need a Wii-mote.

Yes.
Getting back to the main screen is also quite a bit faster.

That's the one.
Yeah gonna play Wii game's on pad instead of TV =P
Earphone jack works when playing Wii games on the Gamepad. BOMBS DROPPED.
So damn close to being a cool update.
That's dumb... So skyward sword and galaxy 1 and 2 still needs a wii-mote...

Did you accept the new terms associated with the Nintendo Network Id via your Wii U console when you updated your firmware? I was prompted to accept the terms when my console rebooted.
I'm thinking that the game-pad acts as a Classic Controller and any game that doesn't support the Classic Controller will need a Wii-mote. The only negative I see here is that the Wii-mote can't be mapped to the game-pad because of this but this is still pretty fucking cool.
Yes, although I think the biggest thing about the update will be revealed tomorrow.
Is this a joke post? Why would SS suddenly not need a wiimote and motion+?!
