Wii U Games 2013

Euro Wii U boxes have different spines anyway.

The box art being fake is no surprise but I definitely want that golden box!! I missed out on the golden GCN box so I need to rectify this!

What about the UPCs?

Still, Smash Bros. this year? Whoever typed up that load of manure should've at least tried to make it the tiniest bit believable by leaving THAT off the list.

Sakurai lied to us. He actually grew a third arm to replace his ailing right arm and has tripled his productivity.

O_O

When was that put on there? Maybe it was there for a while...

But damn, first Game & Wario and now Lego 3DS, I may have been onto something. :D

Pikmin 3 and 101 have codes, so no way those were leaked anywhere, so if those are right, then yep, it's legit, but it might not matter since those are after E3 anyway. :P

yup as soon as they hit club nintendo we should be able to tell about those two I just tested them and they are not up yet

Does this list not just comprise games we already knew were coming, albeit with rather implausible release dates (e.g. Smash Bros coming out after less than two years' development, everything packed in the autumn)? Where's the megaton I seem to be missing?

The image was supposedly uploaded after the most recent Nintendo Direct:

By that time, the product codes of Game&Wario and Lego 3DS were already known.

I still think it could be real. Otherwise someone had really some fun retrieving all those game codes and UPCs.

Thing that irritates me is how Wii Fit U is highlighted like Pokemon and other big games. That means we'll see WAY too much of it during E3, especially the new "fit meter".

I guess those are just recent changes/additions. Like the the 3DS port of DKCR was renamed to DKCR 3D, or Wii Fit U was delayed until the arrival of the holidays.

if you missed it, apparently this sheet leaked a few months ago and a few parts of it are coming true or whatever. Pikmin 3 launch date was predicted alongside some box codes apparently. the megaton is that this is a huge list of fall titles.

those would likely not be known to NOA at this point.

Who knows? There should be a fairly large team at Namco working on it. And I believe Sakurai mentioned their first step basically entailed getting the Brawl engine up on Wii U. They could be taking shortcuts. Also, they may be saving the Subspace Emissary single player mode for the 3DS version. I'd be fine with that as long as the net code on the Wii U version is actually functional this time round.

I can see Smash being out before 3D Mario, and I think I'd actually prefer it that way. Let the Galaxy team have as much time as they need.

So now keeping track via GameFly, we have FIVE games from Ubisoft at minimum between now and the end of the year:

Watch_Dogs
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Rayman Legends
Smurfs 2

Hopefully we get more at E3, surely there's more, like Rainbow 6: Patriots which was HEAVILY rumored for Wii U along with Watch_Dogs.

We could also get another Rabbids game since the TV series is finally debuting this year.

But Ubisoft should have a free team do Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and/or Far Cry 3, those are sorely missing.

Isn't a new Sonic game supposed to come out this year? Anyone think it'd hit Wii U?

Without a doubt. I'm PRAYING it's exclusive, DOUBLE praying it's SA3. GC got SA1 and 2 as exclusives post-Dreamcast and introduced Sonic to Nintendo fans in a HUGE way, and Sonic has ALWAYS sold most on Nintendo platforms with ASRT selling most on Wii U as a LAUNCH TITLE, give us the long awaited sequel 100% tailored to the Nintendo console with the fanbase that loves that Hedgehog.

I would rebuy Future Soldier on Wii U if it meant drop in/out co-op without needing to have people on your friends list. That game is one of my favorites of this generation.

Still an exclusive is rarely a good idea for us as it limits the userbase to one console. It'd make sense if it takes advantages of the gamepad, however.

I'm actually kind of surprised Sega didn't throw together a Sonic Generations port for the Wii U launch.

sonic racing gets the "get the IP on the console rightaway" job done. i doubt the sales of generations would warrant the cost to port it at this point.

Rumors today mentioned Rainbow Six being made for next gen. Including Wii u in that category is still a toss up. But this is one of my most wanted games and will gladly buy a wii u version if possible.

hell yeah, full tactics mode using the screen! that would be awesome since navigating your team can sometimes be a bitch...go there, not there stupid stick!!!

And if the online is actually stable. I loved playing it but every fourth game the matches would lose connection.

But consider the dev costs vs potential profits, if you make a game for one platform and it's the one which would sell the most anyway, that would be very beneficial. A single console game is much cheaper than a game for four platforms (like Wii U/PS3/360/PC, raise it even higher for PS4/720).

And again for what, most of the sales to be on Wii U anyway? The Wii fanbase will clearly move to Wii U and it already started to.

Dimps could make a spin-off companion with similar gameplay on 3DS for another big boost in sales, or even just make a 100% unique game like the REAL successor to the Advance and Rush series, Gens 3DS and Colors DS were based on the main console games, not original to the handhelds.

looking at the game list for Wii U's first year, it looks above and beyond Wii's first year specifically 3rd party games where the quality seems top notch

now all nintendo needs to do is release their first party games more frequently while keeping that quality

It would be a good idea for Nintendo to coerce Sega into an exclusive Sonic game. I don't know how it work with Sonic Team and Nintendo, but I actually think Nintendo should co-develop and co-publish with them. A Sonic exclusive with Nintendo's seal of quality could do wonders.

Didn't Sonic Transformed sell the best on Wii U even when it was a launch title? That pretty much confirms full Sonic support, and Sonic has always sold best on Nintendo, I wonder if their is some truth to that "Sonic Dimensions" that Sega denied.

It would be awesome that maybe one of the calibrations Nintendo confirmed back at the Nintendo Direct in January was a Mario X Sonic game (that's not an Olympic/sport game) but an actual adventure/action/platforming game.

Just imagine a Nintendo EAD Sonic game.

Of course there are benefits for the console manufacturers and developers when getting exclusive games. I was mostly speaking on a consumer's POV.

I've been waiting for this since the 16 bit era, and EAD could pull it off. It is the game that EVERYONE wants. It is the game that would make everyone buy a WiiU. If there was ever a megaton, it would be the Nintendo EAD Mario x Sonic platformer.

It just OOZES money, and I seriously don't understand why it hasn't happened yet.

No Idea, it makes too much sense.

Obviously this doesn't change too much, and obviously this doesn't mean GTAV is releasing on Wii U, but if this is true than we have a better chance of a Wii U version of GTAV.

http://nintendoenthusiast.com/16405...being-tested-on-wii-u-dev-kits-for-some-time/

I’ve been holding on to this for a week now, debating whether to even mention it. The one thing I don’t want to do is give people false hope to hold on to. So, I posted it up on our forums today as a test and they thought I should be posting it up on the site. So here it goes.

After speaking with my retailer source last week about the Wii U Basic Set Nintendo Land bundle that Nintendo is discussing for Q4 2013, I then sent back another email asking about GTA V for Wii U. Rumors had already been swirling back and forth about it on the internet, so I had been hoping to get some clarity.

Unfortunately, I don’t have clarity. All I know now is that “GTA V was being tested on the kits for some time.” However, my retailer friend says that having a game up-and-running on the Wii U dev kits is not the same thing as having actual plans to release the game, as already seen with Crysis 3 being completed last summer and subsequently killed. However, the contrast was made that there is more likelihood of GTA V being released than there was for Crysis 3. So, does this leave us with more of a chance that GTA V will be released for Wii U? My gut tells me yes, this does provide a bit more of a possibility. If Grand Theft Auto V U does indeed exist I don’t think we’ll have to wait much longer to find out. An announcement should be happening soon if at all.

What does strike me as funny is how developers will spend the time and money to create a Wii U build of a game like Crysis 3 or GTA V but then potentially not release it. It seems like an odd business move to me. Perhaps the distribution and marketing costs are what scare them off from a final push to retail.

And lastly, this retailer had told me a while back about Watch_Dogs, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Assassin’s Creed: Blacklist, and Rainbow Six: Patriots all up-and-running on Wii U. Watch_Dogs, Deus Ex, and Blacklist all ended up with announcements. But, we haven’t heard anything about Rainbow Six yet. Is that another project that was knocked off or is there an announcement still to come?

This is really the easiest kind of rumor to spin that GTA V "might" be coming to Wii U.

With that said if there is any one single game that Nintendo would pour money all over to get, it's definitely this one, so I'm always on and off between expecting it to happen and not expecting it.

I think Rockstar likes Nintendo enough to give them a chance with GTAV Wii U, they gave the Wii Bully, Manhunt 2, and Table Tennis and they are all pretty big games.
