Wii U Games 2013

Yeah, the boxart for Nintendo's 2013 lineup sure looks good. Pikmin 3 and Wonderful 101 in particular, look amazing.

Well, the guy who I was going to buy a basic Wii U sold it to someone else yesterday. Oh well.... I'll keep my eyes peeled for any more deals over the next little while.

Hey, that sounds like a great idea. Mmm *dreams away*

Has anyone else noticed that many of the games that are out or are coming soon have AMAZING box art that brings you back to the days where everything wasn't all dark and gritty? I mean, I know that's typical for a Nintendo console, but goddamn if Pikmin 3, NSMBU and Wonderful 101 don't belong framed on a wall together. They do a great job of making the games look fun.

Im really tired of the Dark N Gritty way of Life.

nope

perfect.

Just went through this lineup looking for youtube gameplay on the exclusives. I'm a believer; when MK8 hits I think I'm picking up a WU, pricedrop or not.

Yeah, Wii U box arts are really nice. I'm considering buying Scribblenauts for the boxart alone.

Yeah they're all fantastic. Rayman Legends and Sonic Lost World's boxart are decent as well, though not as good as the ones you listed. Hope 3D World and DK will have a great boxart too.

Just got myself a Wii U Premium as well. It is currently updating...

Anyway, already got NintendoLand and Assassin's Creed 3 so it's enough for this year. :)

Which demos are on the eshop?

Rayman, ZombiU and NSMBU? Anything else?

I think there has to be a Nintendo Direct by the end of next week. Black 3DSXL, W101, Gamecube VC, Account System, and hopefully a price drop.

Nintendo really needs to start putting stuff out there. Really no reason to not be adding more games to the VC on a weekly basis. An F Zero GX HD with online would be a good start.

I hope so.

Yep, fantastic boxarts Nintendo :)

NSMBU doesnt have a demo

Rayman challenge app - it has 3 demo levels and daily and weekly challenges
ZombiU
Sonic racing
NBA 2K13
Fifa 13
Trine 2
The Cave
Tank Tank Tank is f2P
Zin Pen Ball is f2P
It might be more thats what I can think of now

There's no NSMBU demo. Rayman has actually two demos (the other being a sort of fun challenge app). Plenty of indie games have demos. Resident Evil Revelations HD has a demo too.

You will get sucked in, buy the game and play for 300 hours. By that time Donkey Kong/Mario are coming out and you're set.

That's the thing. I don't have the funds for another Wii U game this year, that's where AC3 comes into the picture.

Besides, I got a PS4 and Xbone payed off and got some games for 3DS, Vita and PS3 later in the year as well. Someday, I'll take a look at Monster Hunter but only when I see it on sale next year. :)

In fact, my gaming year is stocked already:

August:
- Ni No Kuni
- Animal Crossing: New Leaf
- AC3

September:
- Grand Theft Auto V

October:
- Pokémon Y

November:
- PS4
- Xbox One
- FIFA 14
- Battlefield 4

December:
- PES 2014

In fact, FIFA 14 is the game that'll take up most of my time. =p

you shouldn't judge a book/game by it's cover.

the box the WiiU came in looked good especially the ZombiU one i got

the word, disappointing comes to mind :(

Finished setting up my Wii U. I'm downloading some free apps and the Zombi U demo currently. Is it normal that I had to "redownload" Netflix and YouTube even though I had never downloaded those apps before?

It was also really convent and easy to copy my 3DS Mii to Wii U.

So far my first impression is very good, besides the OS loading in some cases being a little long. Hopefully it's totally fixed with the second update later on.

The first thing I'm gonna try is AC3 with Off-TV Play. I'll see if I "get it" when trying it out.

So you got a Wii U to play... Assassins Creed 3? I'm truly at a loss for words.

I got a Wii U to have Nintendos new system, and for future Nintendo games. Besides, I'm getting review copies, I'm just waiting for the new Nintendo games. Hopefully you will have found your words by now. ;)

I just so happened to find Assassin's Creed 3 real cheap for Wii U when I walked by a local shop last month - it was like $10, so of course I would play that game, now that I got it.

Everyone forgets the Monster Hunter demo. Try that and you won't ever need silly AC3 or Nintendoland :)

The MH demo was kind of awful. Glad I bought the full game in spite of it. I have it for 3DS and Wii U now and I'm really enjoying it.

The MHU demo was terrible for me. I wanted the game before playing it and after that I didn't. AC3 is actually a good port and plays great in off-tv mode.

I'm actually very impressed so far. I lost connection while walking down the stairs but I seemed to have some kind of connection downstairs. I'll test it out with AC3 off-tv play in a moment.

The web browser is also passable but I have have so many electronics already that I won't use it. But I were impressed with it working as a tv remote haha, kind of handy.

I have only tried the Zombi U demo so far and besides the aiming feeling clunky even with 100% sensitivity all of the GamePad uses were nice, especially scanning areas. Sadly eShop won't let me download the MH3 demo.

I wonder if the TVii feature will ever become available here - what does it even do?

Oh yeah, I got no Wii U friends. Anyone playing AC3 online? I'll get more Nintendo games in the future and hopefully for review.

Zombi U's combat is supposed to be a bit clunky because its a survival horror game. Its not about mowing down zombies, but to escape them and survive another encounter. Some people think the game's weak for it, I personally like the fact that I'm not Rambo in a game for once.

.

The web browser is more than passable. Its amazing (as long as you have a steady wireless signal)

Call your friends, watch youtube videos on the tv. Over here we do it all the time. Better than the tv in my country.

This post was written using the wiiu gamepad, while my girlfriend watches the soccer game on the tv (im also playing earthbound, just got the browser open to check twitter and gaf)

Oh yeah I know the game's premise and concept and all, but alone walking and looking around feels off to me, I don't know what it is. I'm not judging it though, as I haven't tried out the full game.

Well yeah, it's a great browser. All I'm saying is, that I won't use that feature, probably not YouTube as well, as I have it through AirPlay with Apple TV. Again, I'm saying all of it is great, just not something I'll use on a weekly basis. :)

i understand.
Its just that i said the same thing before i got my wiiu.

I have a boxee box and a great motorola tablet. Suddenly the tablet/youtube functions were all taken by the wiiu.

i mean, it dosent help that my tablet has a charger problem right now (whats the deal with tablets and power chargers? my girlfriend has a samsung tablet and the charger`s plug is so weak it breaks almost once a month...)

I don't know what this "Apple" is you speak of
lol
or how it works with youtube, but the WiiU browser lets you play a video in fullscreen on your tv, while you can still browse the web (or the youtube website) searching for your next video to play or other stuff on the tablet.

Also... While i enjoyed AC3 more than some, even while cheap, i would have spent my time (which is more important than my money) playing something like, say, Pikmin3 or Earthbound.

I can totally see the use of the GamePad off-screen and all that for people who don't have an iPad/Apple TV etc. in the house and I'm not criticising the use of it at all guys. All I'm saying is, that it's hard for ME to find a use for it that way, when I got an iPad, iPhone, Apple TV, Mac Mini, MacBook Air etc. connected to the same TV all on the same wireless network in one single room.

Though, I will definitely use it for off-tv play downstairs if it doesn't lag too much. :)

I would surely spend my time on Pikmin 3 as well if I had it, hopefully I can get a review copy.

How come you can't download the demo? And no, you will never find anyone playing AC3 online.
