Wii U Games 2013

I noticed a glitch on the Eshop where if you go to the demo page of a game and don't let the top pic banner load before clicking download demo, you get an error and sent to the main Eshop page.

How come you can't download the demo? And no, you will never find anyone playing AC3 online.

mnmn, AC3 is the cheapest retail game on the eshop....

And not even this make the online a little more populated?

Btw, how´s the multiplayer on it? Only played AC1 until today (and didnt enjoyed very much...)

YAHAAA!!! IIIII DID IT(?)! *cough* weegee mario party *cough*

I'm a proud Wii U owner, look at my spoils!

Wii U Basic $200
Nintendoland $5
Batman Arkham City Armoured Edition $7
Call of Duty Black Ops II $5
Assassin's Creed III $7

So with tax it came to a bit over $250.

I ROCKED price matches with Futureshop (couldn't do the extra discount for the console, only FS had it for $250 so that would've been $5 off if I got it there, got it at The Source instead!).

The prices at FS were:

NL $60
Batman $40
COD $60
AC3 $40

So in the end, I saved over HALF of what it all would've cost had I bought them as such (as the Wii U Basic is $300 normally).

So it would've been $565 for all! :O :O :O

THE PERFECT self welcome to your first own home gift, wow. :D

Edit: To explain to the US and overseas folks, Walmart Canada has the games for $10 each (and Wii U Basic for $200), and price matching at Futureshop or Bestbuy allows you to get an extra amount off for 10% of the amount taken off, so $60 down to $10 is $50 off, so add 10% is an additional $5 off. :) ).

Not so, visit Miiverse, you'll see people asking for games.

You kind of proved my point there haha

So...NNID?

Not yet, I'm waiting until Wednesday since that's when my internet provider will come and install it, and Wii U needs to update right away (unless I got one with the update already installed?). Plus moving day is on Tuesday, all the new stuff is already there.

congrats on the console.

The Wii U is actually my entertainment centerpiece at my new apartment and I love it. Nintendoland and Batman should certainly keep you busy too. I actually enjoyed batman quite a bit despite not liking the first one at all.

You guys have it so easy for your gaming needs lol grats!

Just turned on my U for the first time in months with the release of Pikmin. Firstly: LOVE Pikmin! I played 1&2 but was worried my tastes/gaming would've moved on. My first words on starting to play were literally "wow" that first scene in the snow! The game is beautiful.

Got to echo the comments about the browser too. I've been taking Pikmin to bed as I can't put it down and I was watching streaming sites through it with a pair of headphones while she watched some reality crap. Anyone got any good sites that work on Wii U for TV/Movies. Doesn't help that iplayer doesn't work and there's no app that I can see.

So I was just playing MH (off tv) and my gamepad started to stutter to the point to be unplayable, anyone experienced something similar?, any way to fix it?, did this thing die already? D:

Sounds like something it does when you start getting out of reach.

W101 has been confirmed to support Off-TV play, may add this info to the OP.

I think any game published by Nintendo is going to have that feature just because that was Nintendo's selling point of the whole console. :c - I never use Off TV play just because the screen sucks compared to my big beautiful TV lol.

Thanks for this list! It's very well put together. Personally, I am very excited to get Splinter Cell: Blacklist, on the 20th.

Doesnt explain why it started to stutter after working fine for 3 weeks D:

Gamepad is not even 2 meters away from the console.

Anyways I havent turned the thing on since yesterday, will try again when I get home.

I do remember having some similiar issues in the past while in reach. They resolved on their own and now it works flawlessly.

Hey guys, if you are on the fence about Art Academy it's a lot of fun. Only $4 USD, too! I'm no artist but it isn't hard to just goof around and let your imagination take over!

Word.
I was very suprised to see that price, a no brainer this way.
Later on there will be separate lessons, but if you just want to goof around there are no limits.

Gonna quote again from other thread since I don't want to make a new one for it.

Can anyone help me with a Wii U trouble.

So after some long time without using the Wii U. I have take it to my bro's house and used the HDMI input cable to connect it to the tv.

I tried to apply resolution changes, but the Wii U says it is unable too.
For the record it has been able to work on this TV before (Its a Toshiba) So I don't know why it doesn't work.

When I first powered it up, the Wii U already was on 1080p, but after receiving no signal, I played around with the resolutions a bit. It did change to non-HDMI, but it doesn't seem able to change back.

Any ideas?

It's good that they kept it $4 here. It's more of an impulse purchase that way compared to let's say $10. I'm not that great at drawing, but I might get it at some point.

Just to confirm, the enhanced drawings (with color, all bells and whistles) cannot be posted everywhere on Miiverse (or in PMs, etc), correct? They're confined to only the Art Academy community?

The very interesting thing about W101 supporting off-screen play is how it does it: by using picture-in-picture to preserve the dual screen sequences.

It's the first Wii U game to attempt that (I think?), and it proves you can pull off a graphically intense, high-framerate game doing so. That would seem to open the door to a lot more dual screen gameplay uses that can fall back on PnP when playing exclusively off-screen.

I haven't checked! I can't imagine that Nintendo, love them though I do, would not half-ass it in some crucial way. So if that seems like an important feature an app like this SHOULD have, there's probably a good chance it doesn't.

I'll check and report back!

Edit:

Miiverse is exactly as it always was. You can create works in the app and THEN post them to the Miiverse community, and that's about it.

^ Boo. I suppose it kind of makes sense since these incredibly elaborate drawings would probably inundate a lot of communities, burying any actual discussion. From that standpoint keeping these confined to an area might make sense.

But it also feels like a bit of a missed opportunity.

Can you at least send these to friends in PMs? Assuming you can't do that either...

real jealous seeing all you guys in canada and europe picking it up for 200 or less. the second a deal that good comes to america i'll jump.

Tekken Tag 2 Wii U edition is $20 new at GameStop and looks like it is $20 at other places as well. Great deal. It has funny Nintendo costumes for all the characters, off TV play, and some version exclusive completely broken party modes with dubstep remixed Nintendo themes. They put in a good effort making a special version for the Wii U. It's a good pickup if you haven't played it yet and like Tekken.

ppl who bought the wiiU for some reason decide not to buy any 3rd party games, its one of the things i hate about alot of nintendo fans this day and age, always demanding 3rd party games, but never buying them

NNID is ThaGuy if you didn't notice.

Whatever happened to Deus Ex? I thought it was supposed to come out in June or something, did it get cancelled? Amazon doesn't have a release date at all for it anymore.

Delayed so that the game can come out on PS3 and 360 at the same time.

Which frankly doesn't make any sense (assuming the game was done or close to done on Wii U).

It made more sense with Rayman since it was a new game. Deus Ex is a two year old game at this point. And releasing the PS360 version later would have better justified the alleged higher pricetag for the Wii U version.

What the hell were/are they thinking????

Maybe they wanted to wait for a higher Wii U install base.

If it was delayed for a Christmas release I could understand but knowing the Wii U sales, the difference in install base between June and September will not make a big difference. I think it has more to do with marketing resources.

It's that lovely microsoft simultaneous release policy at work again.
