Wii U Games 2013

I lost my two wii motion plus addons, and haven't bought any remote plus's yet due to their price. Thought about buying some of the cheap third party ones online, but I don't want to deal with sketchy motionplus detection.

Buy Skyward Sword Special Edition. Get gold Wiimote Plus. Buy Wii Party U, buy Flingsmash. Basically, buy bundles. Sell bundled game back at your own discretion.

Brand new owner of the Zelda bundle edition (pretty awesome device, and at the price, it feels like a good value), and I have a question about Co-op or local multi-player games on WiiU.

We are having a blast with the Nintendoland Pikman, Luigi Mansion and Mario Chase. What other games do you guys recommend for local multi-player? Mostly focused or acceptable with young children.

Does Pikman 3 have a mode similar to Nintendoland Pikman mode? I do not think it does?

Pikmin (MIN! not MAN!) 3's multiplayer or even singleplayer has nothing in common with Pikmin Adventure in Nintendo Land. PA is a dungeon crawler whereas Pikmin 3's Bingo Battle is more strategy-mayhem. It can be mindless fun or a vicious battle of vile tactics, depending on how you choose to play :) Try it out.

You should probably keep an eye out for Wii Party U. Or look into crazy nonsense with Game & Wario. The latter has a lot of pass-and-play multiplayer stuff but I think that's fine for young kids, too.

Neko`s next Wii U retail game in the Cocoto series, seems to be more of a light-gun carnival arcade game. They can`t seem to decide on a design as before they had a totally different look in Cocoto Alien Brick Breaker for 3DS.

wow seems quite a long running series that I've never heard of, i do assume they're all crap?

For "young children" though? I don't think that's a good choice.
Depends on how old they are. I've seen some parents on twitter playing with their children. But I'd say get 3d world later this year and obviously Mario Kart 8 next year.

Edith: Doesn't that Adventure Time game have some sort of mp?

Anybody else going to get Scribblenauts Unmasked this week? I'll probably get it at the Target sale. Sadly it seems to be snubbed from the OP.

Weird..it used to be there...odd.

Anyway, I'd love to, but I simply cannot justify it. I recently bought Toki Tori 2+, TW101, WWHD, and I'm looking at FIFA14 (PC) by the end of the week.. :(

Wonderful 101's multiplayer is the closest thing to Nintendoland's Pikmin mode. Trust me, you will like it and so will they. Drawing is intuitive and the easy mode missions are easy enough to mash through until they figure out the proper way to play.

I imagine it would be hard to go wrong with Mario 3D World later in the year...and New Super Mario Bros. U is already out. May want to check that out.

Sonic Lost World and Wii Party (both upcoming) also have multiplayer modes.

Actually, pretty much every Nintendo first party console game has local multiplayer nowadays, it's really great if that's what you're looking for.

As for Pikmin 3, the multiplayer is very fun, but not like the Nintendoland game at all. There are co-op missions as well as versus battles. Both require a lot of strategy and thinking. I would bet it is probably the hardest for young children to grasp out of all of the other Nintendo first party stuff right now.

So, this is my last design update, so people with the dark theme can read it too. ;)

Though, the shadows are white and look bad on the black background, but you can't please everyone. :P

There's an "Off-TV" - ribbon now, if available, if we don't know this for a game or it's confirmed that it doesn't have it, it just won't have that ribbon.

You probably could've put it on the Batman banner already. The previous one had Off-TV and it's mostly a default feature for multiplats.

Probably, still wish I could read a confirmation somewhere. :/

One of my most wanted games. :)

Wind Waker HD & Batman are definitive buys for me in October.

Then Sonic, Watch Dogs, Mario 3D and Donkey Kong right after that. :D

This is going to be a nice quarter for Wii U owners, still need to finish some other games.

Rayman, Scribblenauts, Warriors Orochi, Tekken, and Splinter Cell should all be listed under the recommended titles. Especially Rayman, at least.

And Tank Tank Tank

Great OP! I really like the pictures you have for each game, especially the one for Wind Waker HD. The end of October and early November will be absolutely jam packed. Let's see how that goes.

Is there a reason Rayman Legends isn't under the recommended games though? I'd recommend it for sure.

Don't ever touch a 3rd party motion+ with a fifteen foot pole.
The IR pointers on the 3rd party remotes don't update nearly as often as the OEM ones, resulting in a choppier experience. I'd hate to see how they butcher the M+.
Especially in Skyward Sword. That game has issues if you're using the Addon and not the built in one, for fuck's sake.

Speaking of 3rd party peripherals, can you recommend any good wireless nunchuks?

torn between getting Splinter Cell: Blacklist (loved Spies vs Mercs in Double Agent!) and The Wind Waker HD. thoughts and opinions?

Don't get Blacklist if you're excited about multiplayer.

I am loving the campaign and replaying missions to master on the 3 gameplay styles adds decent replay value but the online is either non-existent or severely damaged. I spent half an hour waiting in a lobby on Saturday afternoon to get enough players to start a match, and then I just gave up.

I found an interview with the creative director of Project CARS. It's from last week, but it provides a little bit of insight on the Wii U version, how the gamepad will be used and why there are no images of the Wii U version yet.

Moving onto the Wii U version, what kinds of opportunities does the Wii U provide for racing sims that other systems do not?
"The controller makes all the difference really. The ability to use it as a gyroscopic steering wheel, your track map, your rear-view mirror, your telemetry screen, an input device for changing your pit strategy, menu navigation etc.. that's where you'll be seeing the unique, enhanced experience that the gamepad offers over the standard Microsoft and Sony controllers. Gamers concerned over the digital triggers shouldn't be - you can play Project CARS with keyboard keys that are inherently digital and we do input filtering to mimic the same effect as a pedal or analog trigger.

When will we see screenshots and/or gameplay of versions other than PC? Obviously the development model is different from the PC version, but I recall it being said that the various versions are being developed simultaneously and it would be interesting to see how they compare to each other.
"All our screenshots and videos that you've seen so far have been created by the community and therefore you can trust that what you're seeing is exactly what is in the game and hasn't been doctored in any way. When we show images from the Wii U version we know they'll come under heavy (and justified) scrutiny from the fans next to the PC version so if you can bear with us just a little longer we hope to make it worth the wait."

Discouraging people from buying it is only making it worse.

Who think also Japanese developer not cooperative with Wii U also?

So many games not announced on Wii U .

PES 14, CV:LOS2,Naruto 3 Full Burst,Dark soul 2, Soul Calibur 2HD, MGSV,Resident Evil 6 or any remake from Resident evil, and so many games.

You're forgetting that Resident Evil Revelations just came out a few months ago.

Thanks for sharing. Interesting. I can I see this game doing well on Wii U. Like the guy say in this itw:

[Do you see a market for Project CARS on Wii U, even though there have been comparatively few driving sims on Nintendo systems over the years?

"Absolutely - the Wii U is a cool machine and players haven't really had a Forza or GT equivalent on a Nintendo platform in quite a while so we're set to provide one for all those fans out there that are after something a bit more realistic and mature over the usual fantasy or arcade

A digital HD port of the classic Namco Bandai fighter, Soul Calibur 2, is currently in the works for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Spawn and Heihachi (the guest characters of the PS2 and Xbox versions) will be returning in this iteration, however, Nintendo fans will not be seeing Link, or the game itself make its way to the Wii U.

Project Soul, the developers behind the franchise, recently talked with GamesRadar at Tokyo Game Show, and mentioned that not all hope is lost for Nintendo owners. Although there are currently no plans to bring Soul Calibur 2 HD Online to the Wii U, if there is enough fan demand, Namco very well could make the project so. The dev team suggested fans make their requests for the Wii U port over on Producer Hoshino's Twitter account.

So... how is this coming along?

Splinter Cell's problem with finding people to play with is not so much to do with lack of players, but much more to do with connection issues and the ports Ubi uses for their games. They have even acknowledged that there is a problem on Miiverse. Since launch, many players were on Miiverse saying that they were looking for a game, yet couldn't find any. How does that make sense? Also, inviting Friends to co-op or SvM doesn't seem to work much at all, which again shows it's a connection problem.

There is a 'fix' that works to varying degrees, which entails adding your Wii U's static IP address to your router's DMZ. Before I tried this, I had nobody joining my lobby. Afterwards, I got people immediately.

Sadly, even if you do get in a game, there are still issues like freezing and so on (from what I've read - never experienced them myself).

The time for Ubi to deal with this has passed now I fear. The single player is extremely solid though, so it's a game that's certainly worth checking out.

The most frustrating part about it is that every other online game I have for wiiU is perfectly fine. COD works flawlessly, some lag.
I noticed AC3 servers had some maintenance last week, and all of the matchmaking problems are gone.

Are people still playing AC3 online?

I tried Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed online a couple weeks back...got a lobby of about 5 players, with another joining during a race.

So... how is this coming along?

If japanese developer not supporting Wii U i will support their games only with less than 15$

Like Suda why he didn't release Killer is dead on Wii U or Metal Gear Rising they plan to release it on PC but Wii U not..!!!!
