Sooo... what is the 2014 thread gonna look like? Is there a single damn 3rd party game announced yet? Anything? Child of Light? Is that it? The next Skylanders and Just Dance can probably be assumed along with MAYBE CoD. What else?? Some scattered shovel ware?

Just got my Zelda bundle Wii U. Looks like i'm aboard the ship boys! Time to jump into some W101!
If Nintendo were smart they'd hit up Namco and get DARK SOULS 2 on Wii U. That's the biggest third party game of 2014 and it's skipping Wii U for whatever reason.
Yet you can bet it won't hit Wii U.I don't think DS2 is confirmed for any of the next gen consoles.
Is Netflix down for anyone else right now? Ive never had a problem with it before, but it's not connecting tonight.

working fine for me.
It's working fine on my PC, but I've tried everything I can to get it woeking on the Wii U again and nothing works. Deactivated my account, nothing, deleted the save data, nothing, deleted and redownloaded the app, nothing.
Googling "ui-108" wasn't helpful either.
When I start it, the screen flashes around the time where you usually have to select regular Netflix, or Netflix for kids, but then it resumes the loading screen for a couple of minutes until it gives me the error message.
yikes, if redownloading didn't help then i don't know what to tell you. have you checked miiverse to see if anyone is having similar issues?

Do you think it would be getting the PS4/bone version over the PS360?
I do agree with the point that it most certainly won't come to the Wii U though, it just doesn't match up with the traditional Nintendo audience.
Yeah as I said above some aspects of it actually DO potentially match up with the Nintendo audience. It actually does. Unless you're under the impression that the "traditional Nintendo audience" only accepts bright colors and all-ages games.

I should have phrased myself better perhaps, it doesn't match up with the all ages/family audience Nintendo seems to be targeting primarily.
I'm not trying to stereotype Nintendo fans or anything, I'm a huge Nintendo and Souls fan myself; 2014 is going to kill me with both Smash 4 and DS2 coming out.
Shouldn't the first post mention Wii Sports Club for November 7th? That's a pretty noteworthy release. Or is the OP going with disc releases only for whatever reason?

Here it is: Wii U eShop GamesYea this is primarily a retail thread. We have an eShop focused thread for all the other stuff.
I'm nit quite sure what you're asking, if I think there will be PS4/xbone version also?
If so I'm not ruling out the possibility but at this point there's nothing that would make me think so.

while debating whether I should sell this thing for PS4 money in a month I realized I still have $40 in my eshop that I need to use before I do that. dunno if I want to put in $10 and get WW HD or $20 and get TW101, but really more towards Zelda as the controls in TW101 demo were offputting to say the least
Yet, this "traditional Nintendo audience" is getting X...
Woah there's a wii sports eshop on the way?? It's going to make good use of the game pad right?

It's launching with HD versions of Tennis and Bowling, with the additions of MotionPlus & online being the focus. I think the gamepad currently is only used to create pre-loadable Miiverse doodle messages to deliver in game ("great strike!," "nice volley," and things like that). It's unknown if Baseball and Golf will use GamePad elements shown in earlier tech demos, but Tennis & Bowling won't be focusing on the pad at all (and how could they, really?).
The addition of MotionPlus should be pretty great for Tennis (Bowling already used it for WiiSports Resort). The online allows you to join clubs -- the video let you join your home state to compete against other states and countries -- and the competition that results from that could end up compelling as well. Bowling and Tennis will be $10 each starting on November 7th. I think there's a free trial too and a downloadable rental option.
How many constituents do you figure? 70k in Japan and 120k in North America? That's a small audience for Nintendo.
Why?Just got my Wii u WW edition. Dat buyer remorse /:

You shouldn't regret it. There's a load of fantastic titles on their way and there's a bunch of fantastic titles already out. Unless your buyer's remorse is unrelated to games...
In 2014 it will be a no brainer to buy a Wii u for me, it just I I finished two games only (WW and nsmbu) and I already feel I played the majority of the Wii u top offerings.
That's underestimating it a bit now, isn't it? Yeah, X won't do Mario numbers but I can see it doing fairly good for itself. It seems a lot of Nintendo fans are aware of X. Or maybe you're right and the low install for Wii U will impact sales, or perhaps hardly any Nintendo fans know or even care about X in the grande scheme of things and games Monolith Soft develop for Nintendo will always be seen as niche, "third-party" RPGs by Mario and Zelda diehards and the general gaming public. It's a sad little fucking world.

The Wonderful 101 dude. You ain't played the Wii-U's top offerings until you've played that game.
I've been seriously considering getting W101 today. Am a big fan of platinum games, but I've heard a lot of reports about the troubling controls of the game. I've heard the same complaints about kid icarus controls for 3ds but it wasn't game breaker, but I don't know how bad w101 controls are.
Bought NSMBU (and of course have WW HD) but after I finished both I still don't find the games library that big yet. Still thinking about buying w101 but I have heard so many mixed opinions on it. I think I'll get pikmin 3 even though I never played a pikmin game before. I already disliked nsmbu (even though I loved nsmb Wii) and am not too sure about what to buy next.
TW101 has a demo on the WiiU, trying it out and see if you like it
Out of all the games on WiiU now and coming out by the end of the year there is nothing else you want?
Most of the early games can be found for cheap now
