The only 1st party game coming out globally next year is Zelda...
RIP Wii U, we hardly knew ye.

Just like the 3DS until recently clearly had 0 1st party titles releasing for the rest of the year. The hyperbole has been very strong across the internet these days. Anyways, I have and will continue to grow my backlog this year so w/e.
There will be a full second half for Wii U, I will get Yoshi, Devil's Third, Super Mario Maker, Fatal Frame, Star Fox, Xenoblade X. That's a lot of hours of playing.
But I'm afraid for 2016 (and 2017? I wonder if they manage to announce and launch NX in the same year). It really feels like Wii's 2011. It really feels like they haven't learnt from past mistakes.
Nintendo will have Nintendo Directs about games coming out next year in the future, way before year's end. That's how they roll things, so this "no games in 2016" is ridiculous.

..but when people have been speculating about the Wii U being finished..the last thing they should be doing is making it look that it's true by barely announcing any new games at E3.
If the games exist and they didn't announce them...that's an even more boneheaded move. The platform has had positive buzz for the last few months. For the first time in a while they had momentum going into E3, then even more positivity from the Nintendo World Championships...and then they killed it dead in one Digital Event.
People have said many times that games shouldn't be shown too early. Nintendo did that with Zelda, FExSMT and Star Fox for example and got shit for doing so, saying the games weren't nearly ready enough to be shown. So I can understand Nintendo holding back a little bit. Now of course Nintendo gets shit for doing things this way as well, they can never win.No, that's not how they roll things. At every E3 they showed upcoming games in the next year(s). This E3 was all about "transformation".

Yeah, it's about showing new games to people and they did. It's not the games many of us wanted and I can understand why people are disappointed. But for Wii U, some of the unannounced games clearly aren't ready enough to be shown just yet, but will be in couple of months. I really hope they won't make it like Sony for example, show FFVII remake as a CGI trailer with no sings of gameplay, and there probably won't be any for a year at least. It's bullshit.1. Do you even understand what E3 is?
2. Why did they show 2016 games for 3ds?
2015 is much bettee in terms of quantity compared to 2014 but in regardsmto quality i would be surprised if any of the games top bayonetta, toad and smash of last year. So, I wasnt THAT wrong, eh?

Btw, for EU, in terms of exclusives:
June: Yoshi
August: Devil Third
September: Mario Maker (amiibo bundle too), Skylander esclusive amiibos, Rodea
Autumn: Fatal Frame V, Mario & Sonic at Rio
Q4: Animal Crossing Amiibo festival (amiibo bundle too), Star Fox 0, Mario Tennis Ultra slam
December: Xenoblade X
bold ones will be mine. actually, a good 2015 for my tastes.
Too bad in '16 we are gonna get Illusory Revelation and possibly Zelda U. Neither Pokken was confirmed...
AKA RIP WII U, sorry but I tried to tell you that months ago.

Big Update after E3.
Despite the bad digital event, Wii U isn't as dead as it seems.
Going to add Skylanders, Mario & Sonic and Animal Crossing later.
Nintendo made me buy Super Mario Maker, Star Fox Zero, Rive, Smash Bros. DLC, before E3 I wasn't sold on any of those. And they made me interested in other games like Runbow, Typoman, FAST Racing Neo (and there's gameplay today on Treehouse to further show the game). And of course there's other games that I knew I'd buy anyway like Xenoblade and Yoshi. So they did their job for me.Animal Crossing CashGrab and Mario Ultra Bare Smash (check impressions from e3)? This are the new games showed for Wii U at E3.
E3 is a marketing event. It's all about promotion.

Also, it's not the easiest job to have content on two platforms, last year Wii U got most of the stuff, this year 3DS got most. Unfortunately you can't always have both.
I'm glad that your happy with the Digital Event. Everything that you list there, except for Star Fox was already presented outside the Digital Event. But if you're happy with it, i guess that's that. Wii U lives!
Why the sarcasm? Dude is happy with what he got and will be getting very soon. Why be snarky about it?
E3 is a marketing event. It's all about promotion. It's the event with the biggest audience. It's the perfect place to show new concepts and announce new games (even if they are coming after 2 years).
Because I said this:
And he answered that he liked it.
And I don't have another answer for this, really. It was not me that started this conversation. And I made clear since the beginning that it's not about the 2015 line-up and I will buy and play a lot of Wii U games this year.
I never said I was especially happy with what we got. I was still disappointed by Retro not showing up as I though they would, but other than that it was ok and the actual Digital Event was fun to watch with interesting backround info on games. So I was also not actually disappointed by the event as I still got stuff I cared about.I'm glad that your happy with the Digital Event. Then why are you in a thread about Wii U games specifically coming out in 2015, if you made it clear you aren't even talking about 2015? Go talk about 2016 and beyond in the Digital Event thread or something,
I'm also saying that Nintendo will show more stuff in the future like they always do. E3 isn't the "this is all we got for couple of years to come" -event for Nintendo like many people seem to think. We've had some good reveals before and after E3 many times, and it's not going to change now.

Doesn't SMT x FE come out in Japan this year? Also, I guess I forgot Mario & Sonic 2016 is out next year. :lolAnd SMT x FE.
This was E3, not just some Direct showing off the lineup for the next 3 months. It's incredibly worrying that we got a decent amount of H1 2016 titles announced for 3DS but not a single thing for Wii U. All of this year's H1 titles were announced last E3 (Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Mario Party 10, Splatoon, and for Europe Woolly World) and all of last year's H1 games were announced the E3 before that (DKC: Tropical Freeze and Mario Kart 8).Just like the 3DS until recently clearly had 0 1st party titles releasing for the rest of the year. Are people serious that's a solid list for a dead console
Are people serious that's a solid list for a dead console
SMT will be it's final big game that goes out in a bamg hopefully.
So another Nintendo console without F-Zero, Pilotwings, Wave Race
Yup its one game a month for me from Aug to Dec.
Devils third
Mario Maker
Fatal Frame U
StarFox Zero
Xenoblade
Then 2016 they move on from WiiU im fine with that
I'm legit mad after that showing yesterday. There are obviously some great games on the way this year, but 2016 is going to be a wasteland, apparently.
But with Splatoon, Bayonetta, Hyrule Warriors, Star Fox, Wonderful 101, Lego City, Pikmin, Devil's Third, Xenoblade, Fatal Frame, etc. (outside of all the traditional franchises)So another Nintendo console without F-Zero, Pilotwings, Wave Race
They're doing something for charity... People should cut them some slack about the last part.Exactly. With Splatoon's buzz and the better than expected NWC there was such an amount of good will. Which was practically destroyed in 51 minutes. But let's all be happy and upload singing videos of Mario.
Because the vast majority of those titles are already releasing in Japan this year? SMTxFE is being shown because it's releasing in Japan in 2015. Same deal w/ Fire Emblem Fates. And actually 3DS sales have been tanking recently (not as bad as Wii U yet), so that's honestly the more important boat to save b/c the Wii U won't suddenly compensate enough to make that worth it.1. Do you even understand what E3 is?
2. Why did they show 2016 games for 3ds?
It's weird how Nintendo didn't even mention so many of thse games. Sure, Devil's Third, Fatal Frame and FAST may not be huge games, but they desperately needed more games on the show and these all look interesting.
