Don't forget the other gems.
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, for example, is one of the best platformers ever made. It easily trumps SM3DW and most other Mario games.
I finished the game and still go back to it regularly. It's just that good.

I think I've kinda done a complete 180 on New Super Mario Bros U's art style. At first, I thought it was basically just the same generic shlock that Nintendo had dumped in the last three games in the series. Now, I've come to appreciate the subtle touches, and realize that it actually looks waaaay better. I kind of love the way it looks. I'm actually excited to see more of it in Mario Maker.

I bet you, if that game had a sweeping score, many wouldn't even mind the visuals that much. It's just that the grandfathered in dullness of the previous titles' visuals plus the ultra dull music in the NSMB games creates this perfect storm. Same reason I think people would like Yoshi's New Island better if it had a score on the level of the original YI. Music/audio influences people sooo much and they hardly ever realize it.

I know if I only had to own one WiiU game, it'd be Tropical Freeze.
If I had to recommend a few others itd be: Punchout!! and Sin & Punishment 2, both for Wii via eShop. Those three are worth the console.

Don't forget Legend of Kay Anniversary. It's a pretty good title worth looking into if you missed the PS2 original.

Can't you just use the classic controller in NSMB Wii? I'm pretty sure that's what I did...

The coin challenge mechanics are brilliant. A shame they didn't implement actual online leaderboards with it, and screwed that mode with using StreetPass only.

Rodea the Sky Soldier comes out the 12th of November (on Europe at least).

I want Fast Racing Neo so bad, but the way they've been handling things I just don't see how it's out before the year ends.
That cash-grab that is Animal Crossing amiibo plaza festival game or whatever... and that's it. Fast Racing Neo... man that game looks better and more exciting than anything else that is left to release this year on Wii U. I'm worried we still don't have a confirmed release date for that game other than the vague "Holiday 2015"

I don't think that it is. It costs $60 and comes with two amiibos and 3 cards (certainly those items aren't worth $60).

My first instinct after listening to that brief clip was, "I'm not expecting great things from this..." but I suppose it's really premature to assume that it won't be good. Still, it seems that this is the first project for both the developer and the voice actor(s?). I wonder if this is bound to become the next The Conduit, or worse, the next Sadness.
That said, if I were making something I was passionate about and releasing it for public sale, I know that I would make sure it's of a certain quality before doing so. I'll try to keep the same open mind that I would want people to keep for me. For your sake and for others' who are a fan of survival horror, I hope it's good.
