So what. Blame Nintendo for not having their shit together. They totally stopped making Wii games and abandoned that system a while back. They have had ample time to get something respectable from a graphics standpoint on the new system to show for launch but they have failed in that regard.

Did anone noted that the Land promo is promoting just the already announced 5 activities? what about the missing ones?
will they be addedd after (DLC) or what?

I don't know how long beforehand the promotional Wii items were shipped or used, but if the Wii's release date announcement is to go by, it was about 2 months prior. Judging by that, if we hope for an October release, we would need a ND or equivalent quite soon.

Iwata said that not every game needs an AAA budget and therefore wont get "intense graphics".

So according to your logic, every game needs an AAA budget to get "Teh graphixx"...

They'll have that one event where they announce everything at once like month before release. That's how they operate.
 
How did this thread become a "I can't play a game with any type of art style other then realistic"? or without this lighting? maybe someone should just make tech demo and sell them if that all you care about

I wouldn't be shocked if they are coming to PS4 and Xbox 8 of course but they won't look that good on the PS4 and Xbox 8, especially at launch.

Thought maybe I was the only one who thought that. They look very good don't get me wrong but if those 2 games are some of the best we can expect from the next consoles then color me disappointed.

How do you know that? You don't, and neither do I. You want that to be the case for obvious reasons but who knows. Everything I've read tells me that Watch_Dogs and 1313 at that fidelity will definitely be achievable near launch, I don't see why not. I'm not 100% sure but I have no underlying motive in believing they won't be achievable. The FF Agnis demo I'm more skeptical about, maybe at the end of next gen, year 6 or 7.

No one said "some of the best", that's why I said launch titles will probably look like that, with Square Enix tech demo probably being what games will look like towards the end of next gen.

Hype is important but even more important is that people hype the product at the right time. If the hype dies out before release date, it's worth nothing.

That's why Nintendo starts to release trailers, launch information, etc. just weeks before release nowadays.

Based on pictures, I think the GamePad is like the Wii Remote. It's glossy in the front, matte on the back.

I don't like fingerprints, but I don't like yellow sticks either. I'm currently torn.

Jets are cooled. I am talking Nintendo specifically and no the graphics they are showing for these games are nothing compared to what this system should be able to produce if the specs are real. The fact that they abandoned the Wii to move on to WiiU development I just expected more and they are barely above Kameo graphics, a launch game for the 360. Not that it matters. People will just respond with stupid shit like "Teh graphixx"... when the discussion revolved around gifs. Was I supposed to comment on the gameplay of those gifs?

You think Nintendo needs to sustain a long period of promotion for this thing?

They can afford to wait until 2 months to release and the second they start dropping release dates and launch information the hype kicks into gear instantly.

If anything I think there's a case to suggest doing it this way is better. They're renewing and building the maximum amount of interest and hype for the system at a shorter time scale between the height of the hype and actual release day.

The Wii U launch line-up just feels really rushed, even more so than the 360's and PS3's. It's like they had to get it out this holiday no matter what. The lack of info and games at E3 was revealing. I'm pretty confident their first party will eventually be able to pump out something like the Zelda tech demo, just not for a while. Devs simply haven't had enough time.

Launch games are made with showing the touchscreen in mind, that's the way Nintendo does it since that's WiiU's supposed selling point, and its been like this since forever (DS, 3DS, Wii, GC, GBA) so you cant expect an explosion of graphic awesomeness. You may not agree with their policy and that's perfectly fine. Graphically impressive games will surely come, but that's not Nintendo's main focus when they launch a console. Then you have ports and ports and a coupla original games, not mindblowing stuff indeed but also, not much effort involved I'd say

Also, I plan on going to Smash tournaments with my Wii U. I'm assuming my white one got scratched when I threw it in my bag, but I never really noticed it. My Wii's disc drive got fucked up from 2000 hours of Brawl, so I picked up a black one. After bring it to its first tournament, that thing was noticeably scratched to hell, and had a ton of fingerprints all over it.

Now if you're going to keep your Wii U in one place, maybe black is the way to go. But I don't want to have to give the damn thing a bubble bath every time I bring it with me somewhere, which will probably be pretty often.

White console master race reporting in. NOA, bring that white 3DS XL over if you want my money kthx.
