umm or you can just buy the console. You don't NEED everything else.
so wiiU:
- buy console
- buy wiimotes (X4)?
- buy pads (X2-4)
- buy memory card of some ilk
I can't wait for the tally of parts to have their console experience. The fact that there's a pad for 3rd party games... is NOT a positive thing.
!!!
Man, just ditch the touchscreen controller and make *this* the default one. Ditch motion control and gimmicks, please!

Welp I guess this about wraps up any possibility for (widely adopted) Wiimote'chuck shooter support, back to the dark ages of fumbling with inferior sticks.
You guys do realise this is the same button layout as the wii u tablet controller without the screen right?
Controller looks awesome, I need it in my hands. Maybe I will buy this at launch even though the New Mario game looks dissapointing so far.
Then why does this even exist?

Symmetrical design is so much better than two analogues at different positions.
Howver the buttons do look to be in a wierd position.
Thank God.
Why would they? Can't think of a controller that isn't in some shape or form inspired by other controllers.I wonder if MS is going to take issue with this...
Dual Shock 3 is comfortable to me.
Classic Controller Pro is comfortable to me.
Xbox 360 controller is comfortable to me.
This looks like it will be comfortable to me, the swapped button/analog stick layout should not be an issue IMO.

Why can you buy multiple controllers on any console? Multiplayer.
there's a difference between inspired, and almost identical lol.Why would they? Can't think of a controller that isn't in some shape or form inspired by other controllers.
Part of good R&D is knowing when your idea isn't that great. I hope Nintendo floors us at E3 with what the Wii U is capable of, but so far, it's more confusing to people than it is inspiring.Yes, throw out millions in R&D....
Not at all, most likely.
Granted, I could be wrong, but if anything the Wii U Pro Controller confirms that the Wiimote probably won't be used for anything but legacy controls. Similar to how the Wii had support for Gamecube controllers.
It'll be there, but devs probably won't use them. The Wii U Pro Controller looks to be the official secondary controller for the system.
Mmmm, please let this work for PC!
(Obviously Nintendo wouldn't do that, but if it connects with USB or Bluetooth then I hope modders could get it working)
Stuff like this just makes it feel like everyone wants the same exact controller. Plus they'll have people coming off of DS and 3DS anyway, and little quirks like that give some individuality. I'm sure the colored prompts the 360 has versus uncolored here would make a difference.Might as well have kept the same button layout as the 360 controller so people don't get confused during QTEs.

Logic fails when people look for problems.
The most important thing I want to know is how comfortable the sticks are. Nintendo has stuck with that terrible grey hard plastic for a long time and it looks like this might be changed?
People crapping their pants over the button placement should keep calm and remember that at some point during the design and manufacture of this controller, someone probably held it in their hands to see if it was comfortable.
The layout makes perfect sense, expect the next Xbox pad to use it as well.
The only failure is creating an extra pad because you can't get more than one of your primary pad to work on the console.
I don't like Nintendo's philosophy with controllers on the Wii U so far. Just throwing all this shit at a wall and see what sticks. Try to please everyone, end up pleasing no one. They should've stuck with the Wiimote.
It isn't that different from the CC pro though, it just copied the superior ergonomics of the 360 controller.there's a difference between inspired, and almost identical lol.
