So, I was thinking of going with a Lupin the Third theme for the next thread.
:D

Nope, nope, nope.. Nintendo is "teh kiddie" and its prepubescent audience won't get that reference.

We need something with Barney or Dora or Teletubbies in it.

(on second thought: for E3, we need a Wii U gif with him jumping out the window - to symbolize our escape from the insanity-inducing wait)

Oh...oh oh oh I know what I want. I want the next Zelda to play from First Person perspective! Like Skyrim! That shit is so immersive. Oh wait, but you don't like first person? That's cool, the other screen will be in the traditional view :P

A delayed game is eventually good.
A bad game is bad forever.
And a kidnapped employee is free resource!

I hate this saying. This gen, more so than any before, has demonstrated that it can be just as often false as it is true.

A delayed game, if delayed enough, can eventually lose focus and vision, be weighed down by a pile of unnecessary shit, and eventually be released as a bad game. Worse than what could have been. A delayed game is often a sign of mismanagement.

One of the moments Miyamoto got the most respect from me was when he had the balls to admit this:

“When you have a development period of five years, it’s often the case that around two of those years wind up being completely wasted effort. With this game, though, I think all the work that everyone put into this project gets fully seen in the final product,” he said.

The Zelda creator admitted the latest Zelda suffered from a little franchise fatigue during development.

“It’s occasionally the case during game development that the project doesn’t proceed along as planned or doesn’t turn out as fun as expected when you make it. This Zelda had some of those problems,” he admitted.

Well, at least, you are working in your field of interest, you live from your passion. You can't say much for more than 90% of people on earth.

i'm a developer (not game but still a developer XD) and i love my job, but trust me it really really sucks working on a project that you don't like... it really tears your soul apart...
and it's even worse when you see you project manager taking stupid decision and you are the one who has to bring them to life...

lol XD
i love Castle of Cagliostro but i'm not too sure how that would fit with this thread...

Because it's the third Speculation topic and it's just fun.

Just a reminder, EA Game Changers Event in about 4.9 hours: http://www.ea.com/1/gamechangers

Riccitiello really praised Wii U at E3 2011, so it's gonna be interesting to see if they have something for the system to present here.

Should have its own thread.

That's for the heads up. This should definitely have its own thread. I doubt they'll talk wii U though. The biggest story there will probably be MoH.

Yeah it must be frustrating :( In these cases the best thing is that the project doesn't last long before jumping to another more interesting one

well, cya guys for hopefully more GDC news :)

A couple months ago, someone dug up an old article that interview both Miyazaki and Miyamoto together. It was pretty fascinating. They mentioned the idea of creating a video game together but, iirc, Miyazaki stated that his mind really couldn't operate within the realm of video games. Both seemed very mindful of each other's roles as Japanese cultural icons though.

Considering what Ni No Kuni looks like...Oh god a Zelda game cel-shaded to look like a Miyazaki movie *homersimpsondrool.gif*

Take a picture like this, replace the faces, give it a new title, replace the money with Wii U, replace the text and voilà, you got the connection.

Also it's a great movie. Enough "justification" ?

i think you guys interpreted my comment more harsh then what i meant <.<

i just thought that "chooooochooo"
that i agree is a much less inspired title
, as other posters suggested, might be a much easier inside-joke to understand for the average not-miyazaki-fan gaffer :P

ma esattamente quanti italiani infestano questo thread? <.<

Ok, guys, you can have only one:

Partial specs for the Wii U

OR

a single random screenshot (with no explanation) of EAD's Wii U game

?????

(I don't have either of course)

When does EA's Game Changers event start? 6pm?

Actually, now that I read the description of the speakers, it might have little to do with game development directly and more to do with using video games as a vehicle for social awareness...or something like that

i'll take the specs!

i have the feeling that we could end up seeing a full trailer of EAD's Wii U game much sooner then we could end up seeing the actual console specs... nintendo never talks about those things usually...
