I decide to sleep for six hours and come back to find this?

What the hell? Did any of you get to bed last night?

The next speculation thread needs to be a mix: half speculation, half E3 anticipation thread.
I'm looking at you Ace *YoshiFace*

two things.

1. Skyward Sword is really not doing that great globally
2. Some of the GDC Wii U titles are pretty hot

Well, it's a speculation thread. So I can get away with it :)

But hey, at least the temperature isn't cold!

Star Tropics
Super Mario Sunshine 2
?

All other games will bow at Pikmin 3 and its epic-ness.
Seriously. A long development cycle from Nintendo on a sequel to the greatest game off of forever

Skyward Sword had a long development cycle, too, and nonetheless there are people who don't like the game.

I'M NONE OF THEM REALLY GUISE!

Pikmin is not Zelda.
Zelda is awesome and people do or don't like it.

Pikmin is Pikmin. Nothing comes close to those beautiful little bastards.
Pikmin in HD . . . and touchable.............!

I do expect Pikmin to launch on 3ds at or around the same time and the two will have some kind of online sharing of some kind, I actually expect a few Ninty titles to do this. Dual screen goodness on the NiN

Zelda is a special case, though. We haven't had a Pikmin game for 10 years and the franchise only has two entries as off now. This could end up the GOTY that no one cares about, because of ACIII,ME3,BI and GTAV.

I love the potential launch *lists*, but lets be realistic here, Nintendo isn't going to let too many games launch simultaneously that would cannibalize the sales of one another. 3-4 1st party games with 9-12 3rd party in launch window max I would say. Then a gangbuster list of releases right before Christmas lol

If lots of them are ready, this may possibly perhaps could conceivably point to a launch before November.. maybe. Wouldn't break my heart.

I didn't think loZ:SS lived up to the hype. I could still waggle the wiimote and be relatively effective against enemies. The sword fighting mechanics were ok but I didn't find them that engaging. I didn't enjoy going back to the same three locations, this was too bland and didnt offer much excitement. It really just felt like going through the motions. I think zelda is a series that will benefit a lot from this oncoming generation, it might be able to kick some life in to it.

October launch i can feel it.

@burst

New Released Zelda's never ever ever ever live up to fan hype. That only happens after the fact and they become perfect :P

It'd be one hell of a teatable to upend. I don't see them taking Zelda in that direction. The favorite form me as far as a huge world was concerned was Wind Waker, in that almost every square on the map had at least one platform/submarine/reef/cavern/mini-game/etc to conquer. If Twilight Princess had been given more side-destinations along the paths of Hyrule, I would've loved it much, much more.
Truth be told, I found the formula in Wind Waker a little too obvious; every square on the map had *precisely one* interesting location on it. You weren't really exploring, you were simply visiting things in a methodical fashion.

I loved the intent, and I'd eat up a more organic approach to the same basic structure.

Edit: In fact, I'd love a Zelda that *came with* a map - maybe a good old fashioned cloth map in CE versions - but left it up to you to visit the sparsely-defined locations from it. Think something like http://www.ultimainfo.net/Maps/Maps/U7Map.jpg , for instance. The world is presented to you freely and immediately, but exploring the nooks and crannies in it is all you.

Haha, there were no clues there. It's just cool to see how things have improved since E3. The controller does spark some creative ideas when teams have the time and budget to play around. I think it'll have a good launch lineup (better than 3DS for starters). Though it's still too early to really tell what'll hit launch vs launch window

But how many times 360 is it? IT'S THE ONLY METRIC WE CAN COMPREHEND!

(looking forward to E3 just that little bit more. I've had enough of hardware discussions, it's long overdue to bring on the games)

Can't we all just be on the hype train in spirit? lol. Let's just call that pic finished now shall we and let it die a peaceful death..
into the sun

I will try to make it a bit more like your current one (with ghost of nintendo president looking on) and basically stack people high, and have it be 4 carts or so... I'll either make it 1280 width or 1920, so it can be a strip background, I really think you should of just let Nibel keep doing his thing.

It also is kind of funny that it keeps getting bigger and more ridiculous as E3 gets closer. If you want me to limit something just send me a pm, also anyone else who wants on the train who isn't on Nibel's train should PM me. However if I can talk you into it Mistle, I'd hope Nibel will continue with his edits because he is much more active than me. (I really only post when I'm at work)

So this John Harker just disappeared into thin air after giving some vague details about Wii U at GDC?

Damn Nintendo ninjas.

He's in a deep underground base being interrogated by Miyamoto.
