When will you learn this isnt E3? GDC hype still hasnt beaten MS CES 2012 hype train yet![]()
Didn't follow up on GDC at all, so did I miss anything? Really I just don't know why this thread just keeps blowing up all of the sudden if there is no news :/

Well..

So there really isn't any new info.
I guess this is also what makes GAF so appealing. overload on just about anything.
Nope. This year's GDC is pretty boring so far. EA's "gamechanger" event was about helping poor countries and 5 mins talk about Sim City 5. Maybe the super mario keynote will session will save us <.<

This FUCKING company will never learn...
No news at GDC, when will this fucking company learn....

There's a Super Mario Keynote?
Odd, I kind of feel that the Internet makes it harder to control dissemination of information. Before, information spread at a snail's pace. Now, we get leaks all the time from various companies, even when they sign hefty NDAs. Except for Nintendo.
Learn what? While we would all obviously love to get some news at GDC, we represent the highest tier of enthusiasm for the console. As far as Nintendo is concerned, we're already sold on the system and need to be swayed no further. By revealing info at GDC they would only dilute the impact, as well as breadth of content, of their E3 presentation when the world is watching.
Nothing new at GDC is awesome. It means all the more to reveal at E3, which I'm going to this year.
I just want Retro to reveal their project. Everything else is just icing.
You lucky bastard. I thought E3 was closed to the public.
There's a Super Mario Keynote?
To save everyone some anguish, I went ahead and posted on the Primal Carnage forums asking if they're considering the game for Wii U.
Oh and one more thing, IdeaMan has been confirmed to be legit by now, yes? No offense to IdeaMan, this thread is hard to keep track of, and I only browse for the hilarious photoshops.
Yep. Also, Nintendo just said that it will be live-tweeting the panel at 3:30pm PT.
We can all guess why Nintendo keep 90% of their cards right now for E3. But reveal 10% of the rest (things not buzz-worthy but interesting nevertheless) to a specific audience like us will not ruin their long-built surprise. But well, c'est la vie, it's their approach. Since developers diaries/blogs, letting players have a glimpse of the development process, i want every company to do it, it's so interesting. But in the case of the Wii U, it's obviously difficult to talk about that without revealing too much![]()
I agree with you, BUT THIS FUCKING COMPANY WILL NEVER LEARN

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but NOA are posting live updates from the GDC Mario 3D Land presentation.

Yeah, it's cool to see companies unabashedly carrotstick other companies practically in real time like that.
You know, I actually kind of like GDC's big change this year, even though it led to less "end user" information. This is a developer event, so we shouldn't be getting any game announcements. This should be all about development stuff. The Wii U sdk licensing? That's understandable, because the devs now know how they can code their games. A discussion on how to position 3D elements for a game? Yeah, total sense to help 3DS 3rd party game makers. The specs would be nice to know, surely, and they would help general developers who aren't there. But there are certainly lots of information that doesn't need to be boasted quite at the moment.
Except for any TimeSplitters 4 announcements. That couldn't possibly come any sooner.

Johnny Depp as Mario is one thing. It's based on the movie.
Yeah, it's more logic to handle the GDC that way, as its Event Manager explained in an interview linked earlier. Now we just need some interesting development-on-Wii U-news, even vague one to not reveal unannounced games, innovative mechanics, or the specs.
