I'm not sure Ninjas care that much about Wifi USB dongles. Unless of course they're USB Wifi dongles shaped like throwing stars and made from dragon scales.

Anyways, decent find and good to know for those who may not have access to a wireless network at launch.

Quoting incase your post is deleted and that is actually the form-factor of the USB dongle.

I guess I'm in the group that if some of these companies are releasing something they shouldn't then let them deal with error. E3 will be here before we know it anyway.

We could always just go back to Photoshopping everything, it worked out well for DR.
You know what, you're right. Fuck it. We'll see how this goes:

Make sure you also download all the stuff and check the headers while you're at it.

I remember the "x3-x4 over Xbox performance improvement" part but not the USB-Ethernet one.

You sure it's not something specific to this release? (dated/generated April 16 - not a month old)

it's not "3-4x over Xbox performance"

it's 3-4x better performance than before, now on par with Xbox and in same cases even better.

which kind of leads to a CPU that might be simliar but more modern.

I was watching the e3 06 Wii Sports Tennis demo this morning. They need t have an onstage demo like that this year. Watching Nintendo's Executives jump around on stage was awesome. Iwata jumping up and down with his head in his hands after a bad shot was pretty cool to see. He is one of us!

The "x performance improvement" wasn't the point - I was trying to make a different point regarding the ethernet adapter.

Neat.

They need something that instantly sells the Wii U concept like Wii Sports Tennis did for the Wii. Granted, that's a lot harder for a tablet controller than for a remote shaped motion controller.

no offense... just wanted to clarify just in case people would quote you on Wii being 3-4x xbox 360 :)

by the way: the topic just got interesting again! thanks disorientator & wsippel for digging up this information!

Pretty much. If they didn't want that info out among us forum-dwellers, they would have seen to it that the info was never found. Especially knowing how voracious we are in pursuing this kind of info.

Sorry, I'm just in mockup fever again! It isn't complete yet (!) and feels rushed, but I got plans for today, so this is it for now :)

My feeling is they won't have that title, for the reason you say. It was clear last year the concept is more of a 'what can we do with this set-up' rather than a system and a controller being built round a single game.

I think the selling-points of the controller will be spread across several titles, including hopefully examples of more than 1 controller in use, and to get round one game not being the selling-point for the system they will bundle the Wii U NSMB with the system as the gateway-drug to the features of it. As a bundle that will be the killer-app for the mainstream.

Things like Pikmin and others will then expand on those features, as well as introduce other ones. It's a strategy that has its own upsides compared to the Wii, as in it won't be seen as a Wii Sports machine.

It's a good idea, but too much blank space! The middle of the Triforce just looks off.

Yeah, that's my problem as well; might redo it when I have the time

But would you guys be open to the idea that Nintendo releases HD... who am I kidding, of course you are you dirty whores

Brother I got nothing against you, but can someone explain to me why do I have to edit my post to hide/delete any source/company info, but you can even post the direct link to the source?

You don't have to hide anything. People here are trying to act like we're talking about top secret material here. Come on now...

And in the middle "negative space" triangle is the one game that renders those three games relevant plot-wise. :P

In seriousness, not a bad mock-up. If Nintendo pursued such a product, that would be a logical basis for the design.

Bundling with NSMB would be incredible for sales.
I think a U Play title featuring Chase Mii, Battle Mii and other minigames based around the tablet's features is more likely, because it would sell the unique gameplay possibilities of the DRC. It wouldn't have the instant mass appeal of Wii Sports, so I suppose Mario is a possibility. That would be quite a value proposition!

Even the stupid codename was "top secret" enough for Nintendo to completely rework the SDSG website and tighten security just a few hours after it was discovered.

I can definitely see a Wii U Play title, and if they've got more than 1 controller working (which I damn well hope they have) that will be how they solve the pricing problem again.

My spider-sense does say NSMB Mii or whatever it will end up being called is going to be bundled though, and that's why we're seeing two 2D Marios in the same year and why they have (probably) recycled the Wii version for the groundwork. It's a quick project designed for launch.

It's also a perfect way to introduce nice little features of how the tablet can work, such as going down pipes into underground levels on the tablet. Whilst also having the clout of a 'proper' game (yes I hate that term). After the 3DS I think Nintendo know the importance of getting a launch right, and a bundled Mario is also a nice throwback to their Golden Age.

At every Nintendo conferences/showrooms/presentations since a few months, i fear that they will reveal something that i've kept to reveal here :(

Well, at least i've already relayed them to someone who will be able to say "hey he told me that" on the thread :p

there's only one way to make sure that won't happen: spill all details now!
(and then get mad and frustrated if the whole presentation is just about some already announced 3DS games)

Is the bolded worth anything?
Your swizzled differently.

Probably. The USB-Ethernet adapter is just an off-the-shelf PC part, anyway.

We don't know how Nintendo sees these things, but we know that they're incredibly paranoid and secretive, so we should simply assume that the info isn't meant to be in the open. I already explained that several small middleware providers "forget" to remove console stuff from the public release notes all the time. That usually doesn't happen with bigger companies like Havok or Autodesk. Go ahead and download the latest UDK and CryEngine and see if you can find any mention of the Wii U in the documentation or the headers.

For this you need to be a licensed Wii U developer, then the documentation will be available in the development websites of these engines.

No. The problem is that we lose some sources because people start spreading them around. I know its their fault, but its annoying for us as well.

OK and sorry if I brought this up.

It's just that replies from certain people seem to contain irony in some degree, if you know what I mean.

I like where this thread is going today! Enough is enough! Anyone who has details spill 'em and let's see where we stand. Nintendo's secrecy has tortured us for far too long already, and with E3 drawing ever near, some bona fide news is bound to hit. Then, once the dust settles I can go back to playing Xenoblade with peace of mind. :D
