One 1280x720 scene and two 854x480 scenes is 85% as many pixels as 1080p. But in that kind of situation were each screen is displaying a complex scene resolution isn't likely to be the main problem. As you say geometry, lighting ect will be a bigger issue. Its just a case of the developer splitting the systems resources 3 ways, or maybe 40/30/30 (since the TV is bigger and needs more detail) and it'll work. When a developer is working with an engine designed to run on one screen on 360 and they try to get that running in full quality (resolution lower on the controllers but everything else the same quality) on three screens on WIIU its not surprising that it wouldn't quite manage that.
I'd also be hopeful that an optimised engine could help significantly. Not just optimised for WiiU hardware but also optimised for multiple screens.

Yeah, I don't think anyone's settled on a name. It's just that we're all from this Nintendo Wii U thread, and that's what the people here tend to know the most about, so it makes sense it would have the Nintendo name in it. I wouldn't be against having a more "console agnostic" name or anything, not that my voice particularly matters in this endeavor. People are just spit-balling in here, and that's what they came up with so far. Anyway, if folks want to be creative and make a site, who am I to discourage them?
You could also just start a blog on blogspot and link the domain (nintendoworldnews) to the blog. Should be easier that way. You can then, for the time being, develop a proper page in the background while using the blog. The blog also allows for more than one person to contribute. You just need to invite people like on Google Docs.

My aunt & uncle run a Mom & Pop store, "The Gamecube Hut", and sold 80k WiiU within minutes of opening.
Anyone have any idea about this? I'm wondering if some ambitious Wii U developers might attempt to run their game in an "overclock mode" when the user is paying with the tablet by itself. I'd think the lesser resolution coud free up enough resources to boost the image quality.

As we know darksiders II has moved its release date into August this year and there can be speculation that its about a possible Wii U release in that time also.
What would be interesting is if someone could find out when IBM plans to deliver the first chips for Wii U (when they start massproduction)
IIRC with the Wii it was 2 months prior the WW release of the console.
So someone have any relation with an IBM employee??

I don't think that should really be seen as any indication of the Wii U launch date, I mean Ninja Gaiden III is already out and will also come to Wii U.

The relation between Nintendo and THQ is not that bad, if not to say its probably really good.
Take for excample Eric Barker, Studio Marketing Manager at THQ he was before Wii Marketing Specialist bei Nintendo of America.
Maybe he has talked with his "old friends" at Nintendo and they figured out "Hey lets put our release of game and Hardware together!!"
I know thats all speculation, but isnt that thread about that??

Sure, I just personally don't see Wii U releasing before November, but really who knows at this point, right?
so basically your saying the if the Wii U lacks the one thing that has all but killed off or i should say disinterested people from local multiplayer AND doesn't have local multiplayer (which it will; i don't know why your saying it won't nothing has been confirmed that it won't use more than one Upad; even then, it'll still be able to use 4 Wiimotes and a Upad) that it's totally screwed.

Next week will be interesting, I think we will hear more about Nintendo Online, new 3DS games announced and a vague Wii U info to generate hype.
There's no news, and no rumours with decent sources. That's why the thread has gone haywire.
You know the point of the website would be to put all Wii U news in one place that is accessible, unbiased and sensible in its reporting, right? So it would maybe make it easier for you...

And count me in as wanting to help. I'd love to do a weekly or monthly column about gaming media douchebaggery, please. Being able to call-out specific instances over time and building a library of these things would be a worthwhile endeavour. I'd probably try to strike a Colbert/Stewart-like tone - serious, but with plenty of "immature" dick and fart jokes included.

By vague Wii U news I mean game announcements with Logos only, no screens or trailers.

You're right, it would devolve quite quickly, but at least it would be a lot of fun
. Just remember that there likely won't be any new information for now anyway, at least none reliable, and if there was anything of note you would see people talking about it, there would most likely be a separate thread as well. And yeah, only 6 weeks now, time certainly has gone quickly...
