There is no gameplay in that trailer.

If you're talking about what was shown at the developers conference, I would say it looks very good for a game developed in a short time on underpower dev kits.

BurntPork said:
That's exactly my point and why it's funny that there were people saying that the trailer was behind current-gen graphics.
People said the screenshot of the game looked like shit. (And they do). Not the trailer.

There is no gameplay in that trailer what so ever, the demos we saw at E3 were very early builds and are highly likely to improve, the final game will be far better and will act as an initial keystone for the WiiU's graphics capabilities.
At this time, no-one can make any kind of assumption on how powerful the machine is beyond the official details we have received.

Get it? We know NOTHING on the WiiU's GPU and CPU yet. Stop making ill-founded judgements on thrown together demos and amateur speculation.

Why you people can't just wait I have no idea. Leave it a couple of months, come back, then discuss. By then we will have something substantial to talk about.

Maybe it wasn't here (I go to several different forums), but I've seen a couple of haters make a stupid mistake like that. It's sad.

dude calm down. everybody already knows this thing is doomed. deal with it and move on like the rest of us.

Enlighten me please, if there is no gameplay, how would you have known that the graphics were not on par with what we have on our current consoles ?

You're a zany.

This trailer shows gameplay, and no, the visuals aren't as good as this gen. It's fine for an early look at the gameplay, but that's it.

Edit: ...watching this video makes me cringe. That method of control looks awful.

Ahem, we were replying to comedy bomb and we don't know why you intervened. And why you're holding such a speech. We did not do any asumption about the WiiU specs, got it ? You're easy to wind up and you miss the point. In other words, you can call your attitude angriness masturbation. Cause you do it alone.

Killer Freaks is Ubisoft getting a headstart on the shovelware. It'll probably be one of the ugliest games on Wii U. Even the target shots are mediocre.

Well yeah, just going by what I saw on here. Though personally I found the Console-Warrior guys really funny. Especially when they said the footage of a bunch of WiiU Ports looked much worse than the PS360 version and it turns out it was 360 footage for the game reel.

You certainly do like to talk out of your ass a lot. There are no target shots. There are a few screenshots, and a few bits of art (which would not qualify as "target shots").

BurntPork said:

No, sorry if it was unclear, I was agreeing with you - I'm annoyed at people that look at the gameplay footage of Killer Freaks and make preconceived ideas about the WiiU's performance. I just quoted you for truth, that is all.

Erm, sorry? Wind up? I was just making a point for those who are making early judgements on the console. Nothing more. And remind me next time I 'intervene' that this thread isn't open to everyone for discussion. Just to clear up here, I'm not criticising either you or BurntPork for what you've said - it's the people you're discussing it with that think the WiiU's performance can be assessed from early build demos.

*EDIT*

And just to clarify, what does that last comment even mean? I'm struggling to make sense of it... Attitude angriness masturbation because I do it alone? What?

Didn't Ubi also say that the game is in extremely early stages of development? I actually hope it turns out fine, I like the whole cheesy monster flick scenario they got going.

Yeah, I'm with you here. Ubisoft acknowledge that this game is in a very early state, and here's hoping it improves for launch, if that's the window they're going for. I really like the concept and ideas, I just hope they give it enough substance to match.

Yeah. Like I mentioned earlier it looks good for a game developed in a short amount of time on underpowered dev kits.

Ubermatik, you seem like a nice guy but why quoting BurntPork and saying nonesense ? comedy_bomb is an average troll we were toying with. And you came with your comment that made little sense. I kinda tought you were a troll too. Sorry.

My last sentence ? I was putting words on your attitude. You seemed like a guy willing to insult and teach people while failing to make a point. It's annoying and it's even more annoying when you do it without any purpose.

Meh. I don't trust Ubisoft when it comes to Nintendo platforms, and they probably have a B-team working on it with a low budget.

Alright, whatever. Quoting BurntPork was probably a mistake, because I was kind of backing his point up, in reply to comedy_bomb. I'm sort of with you two on this one, but I probably came across as generally aggressive and argumentative.
All in all, my point here was to remind people like comedy_bomb that we can't really make a decent perception of the console's power come launch.
If it's any consolation, I'll admit I was a bit rash, but don't get me wrong; I had a purpose and a point to make, just int he context it may have become a little lost.

Your faith in nintendo is unjustified. my "trolling" is a fairly solid observation. The Wii is on life support, as is the 3DS. yet you expect them to come out swinging with the wii u? surely one of us is crazy. nintendo never delivers when it comes to tech or graphics.

Troll status confirmed. They've only done that one generation. And Wii did what it needed to even if it did hit a wall.

Doomed, going the way of Sega, bankruptcy, selling crack on the street, etc.

I don't recall the n64, gamecube, DS, wii or 3Ds doing much compared to the competition.

All good Uber. I am no angel myself, far from it.

You're fantastic, you're begging for it. OK, let's assume I am crazy and I am just manipulating you so you go on digging your own grave. Who will stay in here the longer, you or me ?

(hint : I'll leave before you)

Oh brother, this is just pathetic.

Haha....

Doesn't even deserve a reply, but I will none the less.

The Gamecube was almost on par with the XBOX and a bit mroe advance than the PS2. The only thing holding the N64 back was cart size. The 3DS is a huge leap over the DS, that is if you think going from PS1 graphics to PS2.5 graphics is a large leap.

N64 was more powerful than the PS1, though granted the Playstation allowed for higher quality textures/audio.
The Gamecube was superior to the PS2.
The Wii is the only odd one out so far.

As for the hand-helds, Nintendo hve said in the pat that their portable gaming design is focused on enjoyable experiences and new ways to play on the go, not performance.

almost on par..... held back by cart size... sounds like nintendo to me. DS is nothing compared to PSP and 3ds is nothing compared to vita.

Hello. I haven't been following this thread so far so this may be old but I may have some juicy tidbits that I haven't seen reported on the Wii-U.

My Wii took a crap on me and I was on the phone with a Nintendo rep about getting it repaired. I was talking with her about my options with one of my main concerns being making sure I get my Wii Shop purchases. She said if I bought a new console I wouldn't be able to transfer them but if I went through their repair process that even if I didn't get my original Wii back they would be able to transfer them for me. I then said that I was interested in the Wii-U and that if I decided to wait for that if I would be able to transfer my Wii Shop purchases to that. She said she would have to check and then came back and said yes. I didn't dig very deep as I decided to just pay them to repair my Wii so I don't know if this is just VC games or other Wii shop games or apps or if anything is excluded.

TLDR: It seems that we will be able to transfer our Wii Shop purchases to the Wii-U.

Still defeats your argument though... neither machine was the least powerful in their generation.

Imagine it this gen - if the PS4 was the back runner, Nintendo in the middle and Microsoft up front, but only just - a la Gamecube era. People would go mad.

The PS2 was half as powerful as the XBox, so what does that make of it?

I can't believe we have someone trying to say that the PS2 is more powerful than the Gamecube in 2011. What's next? Are you going to call Wii weaker than PS2 as well?

That happens to be the mindset of quite a few people that didn't really care about what Nintendo was doing at the time.

Honestly, I kinda like the guy.

Back on track : Blergmeister's comment is a solid argument in favor of a possibility to migrate the content of your on-board memory on Wii to your WiiU. This is an ok news but I am willing to know if we can proceed without having to send the Wii to Nintendo.

Will the two consoles be able to communicate via bluetooth or Wi-Fi ? Will there be a menu for a wireless upload of the Wii data onto the WiiU ?
