I'd just like to ask if this is the large fall update that was promised at the end of September/ early October? I don't think it is, but I am not sure. I did think that the fall update would include the Miiverse expansion.
Yup. One step forward.........in the wrong direction.Nintendo gonna Nintendo.
It will be, just you wait and see. This will be Nintendo thinking they're amazing and leading the industry.I'd just like to ask if this is the large fall update that was promised at the end of September/ early October? Probably one of the worst new features they could have possibly added. Nobody asked for this.

Actually I recall plenty of people asked for this.
The chorus of disappointment in this thread kind of says otherwise.
Plenty of people asking to play Wii games using the gamepad. Using the gamepad as a minature TV to play Wii games through? Not so much.
Whatever,, Im done with all the Wii Games.
Also havent turned my Wii U on since February....
Are you sure? Try holding down the B button before you turn the Wii U on. It should launch Wii Mode without asking you to click with the Wii Remote, and it should automatically launch with the Gamepad streaming.(Un)Fun Fact:
Wii Mode will not boot unless the Wii U is connected to a TV. I didn't know this before, but it's really sad and dumb. I was hoping to navigate the Wii Menu with my Classic Controller and play some Wii games on my Gamepad since I don't have a TV in my dorm, but that no can happen.

So games that look bad on the HD tvs like skyward sword how do they look on the gamepad? Im incredibly lazy to go find batteries for my wiimote.

Same here. No TV. We're the people who this feature makes the most sense for.....so hopefully it gets fixed.

Confirming that this is great with Wii Fit. Watch tv, put the gamepad beneath, select workouts with the wii remote. Makes a world of difference for the ones that don't require full focus on the screen.
This is good. But somehow it feels like you where invited to an orgy just for giving hugs .
I tried, and it still asks me to select the Wii Menu on the screen. I blindly clicked around with the CC and found the button, but I was then told that I was unable to launch the Wii Menu.

If you change the mode to non-HDMI in the settings, it will launch without needing a tv. I just did it and am now playing re4.
So... now BC is a game changer?
Pretty dang good, actually.
Thats pretty sweet. Too bad you cant play them comfortably. They look really good.
At least the ones I tried.
- Mario Kart Wii (a few races)
- Mario Galaxy and Brawl.
If I'm ever traveling, you can bet my nerdy ass is gonna bring my Wii U along and take advantage of this. I was just playing Metroid Prime 3 and RE4 with Wii controls in my bed. I don't care how silly I'll look, cuz that's awesome.i get playing wii games on it being great, but not with another controller.
it goes from a wii handheld, to playing a wii on a super small tv...
This picture is so sad. The gamepad controls are right there, lol...AGITΩ;84171581 said:awesome, now I can play Smash 64 on the small screen!
