Defo not, they become an addiction for some people and forces the player to do stupid shit you would never do and have never done before they existed.
It also makes the game become a job instead of enjoying the story and gameplay, eg play through the same game 3 times to get a different 60 second ending.
Nintendo kept gaming pure with not implementing them.
