Good job bringing MORE attention to a joke your wife didn't like. That corny joke would've gone by like a fart in the wind. Now that joke and your hoe ass slap overshadowed your first Oscar win. Had to stand up there like a lil hoe crying and apologizing for your dumbass actions. Great job Will Smill. Fresh Bitch of Bel Air.

Meh, cant say for certain it was staged but its interesting this happens right after a couple of weeks talk about how no one watches the Oscars anymore, and what can they do to bring viewers back.

Also a slap can be almost as bad as a punch, and Will is a big dude yet Chris barely flinched.

If someone insulted your wife, comedian or not, how would you all handle it?

That's the one thing I haven't seen brought up.
Something like

“She may or may not be able to grow that hair back. But you’ll still be a cunt”

Otherwise I would just do

Perpetually Offended
What are you even implying here, that it's okay to assault someone when you're offended?

If someone is making my wife feel more uncomfortable than she already was having alopecia, I'd either go up to the guy and tell him to stop... If he didn't, I'd slap him.

Slap.

Not beat him to the ground. Not kill him. Slap.

I'm not going to let ANYONE insult my wife. If SHE was laughing, that's one thing and I'd continue sitting down. I might not laugh but if she laughs, then so be it. But if I see clear hurt in her face... I'm NOT going to be quiet and let him keep on going without having a word with him. At the very least.

But Russell Crowe, Colin Farrell, Denzel and other celebrities have resorted to worse over smaller things and they weren't met with this kind of pearl clutching that's going on here.

Jada has a hair loss condition. It’s a bad joke.
Nah. Joke's a joke, and Chris Rock is the fucking king. Will should have calmed his emotional ass down and found a tampon somewhere to cram up his butt hurt boy cunt.

Anyone who gets mad enough to swing at someone over such a harmless joke is a fucking cuck and an emotional twat.

And yes, I'm married, fiercely defensive of my wife, I'm a dad, and I don't mind some dumb fist swinging when it's necessary and I've imbibed the necessary beverages, but swinging over a joke like that means you're a little bitch, full stop. I'm aware of Jada's condition, doesn't make a difference.

For what it's worth I generally like your posts and appreciate your candor, but I hard disagree with you on this one. You're still rad though lol.

If this wasnt staged then i feel for both Chris and Will. Chris for obviously doing a standup routine, and he wouldnt expect that reaction, and for Will as he has been going through a rough time seemingly, and it all came to a head and exploded like this. He must of been in a bit of a dark place to do this in front of the world and his peers.

Still i think it could of been staged. Chris was just doing a standup routine that standup comedians do, so he wouldnt come out looking bad, and for Will well except SJW' that will want him put to death for this, most normal people will be like 'Damn Will is da man!'.
Both will be fine going forward while the Oscars get a lot of much needed talk for the next few weeks, resulting in probably a much bigger viewing audience for next year.

Will Smith got himself into an "entanglement" again. Seriously though, if you take offense in a situation like that the most graceful thing to do is to get up take your wife and leave but I guess that trophy is far more important.

Love it or hate it, standup is predicated on the fact that there are no sacred cows, these guys are in the show biz they should've learned that by now.

Edit: If you think about it, Will Smith just slapped the First Amendment.

I just noticed that it looks like Chris stomps down his left foot as Will approaches. A signal, perhaps? There's a fair chance, at least to me, that this was staged.
Doubtful, Chris isn't that good of an actor and he was clearly flustered trying to get himself back on track after the incident.

This is a perfect example of why you shouldn’t react impulsively. If he just waited a little bit to see if he won he would’ve had the perfect opportunity to say something during his acceptance speech. That could’ve been classy as hell.

Man the screaming is even bitchier than the slapping.
The more I watch it the more it makes sense.

Will laughed it off was like yeah. It’s cool. Jada had this look of oh I can’t believe he went there. Towards Chris rock. Camera cuts away I bet Jada was turning to Will. Saw him laughing he saw her face and she must have had a you gonna let him talk to me that way? Then Will fearing the cuckening part 2 reloaded. Went up. He didn’t want to hit Chris. But he did. Then he walks back. Look at his subtle. Tears in his eyes. Will is under Jada’s control. I bet she cucks and humiliates him for a control/revenge thing So of course will has to give it the big mouth after he hits Chris who plays it off like a champ. If they have footage of it I bet it will show Jada giving Will the whole “you gonna let him insult me like that” or just a look like you are in so much shit after this kind of vibes.

Defending your wife is different. But going from laughing at the joke because you know. It’s a joke to seeing your wife give you this look and you know what it entails to performing an over the top reaction.

He could have as others said just dropped Chris a subtle fuck you in his acceptance speech or sometime after.

This isn’t an anti women post. This is a something is up between Will and Jada.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
There was nothing fake about that thump. Rock grew up getting the shit kicked out of him though, figures that he knows how to take a hit.

Let's be honest, Will gave him an open handed slap.

If Will wanted to, he could have decked the fuck out of Rock with a proper punch.

Bro that was a solid full power slap that connected. That could knock someone out. And getting knocked out + banging the back of the head from the fall kills people all the time.

I’m not saying I think Rock’s life was in danger but it’s a bigger deal than just a slap. Will’s lucky he just let it go.

The Oscars is a show about actors making shows.

When Will talks about his "calling", does that include performing life-saving surgery (recall an Arnold Schwarzenegger interview in which he described visiting the hospital for routine day surgery, but, as he described it, complications arose and he nearly died on the table...his doctors saved him), or being part of a team of firefighters entering burning buildings to actually save lives? And the guy is going to invoke Denzel Washington's name for what reason, as his enabler? Christ. Well-played Hollywood, well-played...

Will, Jada, and all the rest are actors, making bank from memorizing a few lines and playing dress-up. Heck, in some situations, depending on the movie genre, they're just providing voice talent foregoing cosplay all together.

I'm leaning towards this "event" being entirely staged to boost ratings post-pandemic. Did the outcome achieve mainstream media views/click goals? Decide for yourselves.

The amount of people who think it's staged is hilarious.

I just don't get why it would be staged. I guess if you look at it like "there's no such thing as bad publicity".
But if it was staged then the plan was for Will to negatively alter his reputation and public image and the actual awards to get burried under the news of this whole thing all in the hopes that next year tons of people who don't watch the Oscar will tune in to 3 hours of preachy celebs giving awards to each other with commercial breaks every 5 minutes just in the hopes that another celeb gets slapped?

All of Hollywood's hypocritical virtue signaling laid bare by a single slap as the braindead audience keeps clapping to the offender getting his award. Violence is okay so long as it is committed by the rich and famous, but god forbid a lowly pleb dares to formulate a mean tweet.

No matter how you look at it, that slap is an expression of Hollywood's sick and broken mentality:
  1. If staged, it would only demonstrate how low these popularity seekers are willing to go in order to stay relevant. Making headlines at all costs taking precedent over artistic merit.
  2. If real, it would yet be another indication of how mentally shattered these people really are. No matter how hard you're trying to sell the illusion, money just can't buy happiness.
Just look at Smith's family, it is a disgusting mess. And this is the lifestyle that people are striving for? These are the people that seek to educate others and that we should cheer for? All I see are broken puppets entangled in the poisonous strings of their own narcissistic careers.
All the wealth in the world, yet such little wisdom to go around.

I'm voting staged. This is the most buzz the Oscars have gotten in well over a decade. Will Smith is a Hollywood professional. Dude has been famous for nearly 40 years. He knows how the game is played. He's not gonna hop up on stage and assault someone because he's angry over a joke.

Plus, Will Smith's entire family are attention whores, and Chris Rock hasn't been a relevant stand-up in 20 years. Today everyone is talking about them and the Oscars.
