It's not that they hate him, they just like the younger princes more. It annoys me. I don't think they get how this Monarchy business works.

I also feel really bad for him. Apparently he's just become the longest-standing British heir and now people are talking about him skipping out.

It's because he's seen as a crazy hippy who sits around talking to his pot-plants all day, and promotes bullshit like Homeopathy. I also suspect that his current wife being not very popular doesn't help much.

There were people entitled Prince of Wales before that. But indeed, as you're suggesting - it was Edward I / Longshanks who made it a matter of English royalty...

He led two campaigns to defeat the Welsh, and spent money that is equivalent to £33m of todays money building castles all around Wales to ensure they couldn't rise against him again.

It was also Edward who first hung, drawn and quartered a nobleman - Dafydd ap Gruffydd (who had proclaimed himself Prince of Wales and Lord of Snowdon)... I believe his bits were sent to some of those castles, as a warning and a symbol of what would happen.

You know, maybe it's just me, but why the hell can't the Prince of England afford hair plugs or at least whiten his teeth?? He's a damn beast while Kate is pretty damn hot. For now, at least.

Williams used to be a good looking lad when he was younger. Then his hair starting to fall out and he looks like a smoker who has aged terribly.

Williams and I share the same birthday. I'm a baby face, and my hair is so thick it's hard to get a comb through. My barber charges me double.

The older generation don't want him to be king because they suspected he was cheating on Diana the entire time, and then he married a divorcee. Under current traditions, he can't be King because of that.

The younger generation just think he is a tosser.

They'll stay married forever if Kate's mother has anything to do with it. From the documentaries I have seen, it almost look like her one ambition in life was to ensure Catherine became the Queen of England. Stalker style.

I thought if you married into the family you won't get to be in a position of power. Like how Prince Charles' wife is a duchess, not a princess.

The "Anglican Communion" which includes the CofE and other Anglican churches in the world came down on the Episcopal Church here in the US because, for a time, if a state observed civil unions the church was allowed to recognize and even bless them in that state and Vermont ordained a openly gay priest in a committed relationship to be a Bishop, Gene Robinson. We're trying to move forward here in America, but because the Episcopal Church is part of the "Anglican Communion" with the CofE and the rest of the Anglican church worldwide we have a majority against us and we have to go with what the majority says.

Count me in the "doesn't really care or see why others care about royal wedding" but hey why not? I might tune in, but I'll probably be too busy watching Fast Five. I'm glad this is finally happening though, so I can stop seeing on the news - "THIS JUST IN, THE ROYAL WEDDING WILL HAVE A CAKE. LETS GO TO SOMEONE FOR ANALYSIS AND DETAIL THAT IS PRETTY STUPID".

it actually seems to be real, as crazy as it sounds. i'm not expecting much, and will actually be shocked if he is there on friday.
