By jove ! Who's gonna win this ?

Djokovic proved many times he can play well in Wimbledon, but he suffered a cruel defeat in French Open final against Nadal and has yet to play on grass this year.
Nadal, relegated to number two seed with Wimby's special rankings, is always a danger and won the French (again !), but lost in Halle against the 78th ranked in the world and seems to appreciate less and less the grass game.
Murray, London's crowd's favourite, won last year but struggles to regain his pre-surgery level of play.
Federer, formerly the grass king, is now "old" and has to prove that he can be, once again, in top form during two weeks.
Wawrinka, against all odds, won the first Grand Slam of the year in Melbourne, but his game has been hit or miss since. Plus Wimbledon always has been the worst Slam for him.

Who then ? Gulbis, after his first Slam semi in France ? Dimitrov, after his Queen's win ? Raonic, serving 1000 aces on his way ? Nishikori ? Berdych ? Lopez ? No. Bet on Dustin !

Marion Bartoli defeated Sabine Lisicki in a surprising final last year. The former retired, the latter didn't play really well since, but grass seem to bring the best in her game.
But who are we kidding ? Of course, Serena will be the woman to beat, and of course, the final result will revolve around her hability to stay consistent throughout the two weeks. She doesn't have an easy draw though, so she'll have to be focused.
Sharapova, Radwanska, Kvitova, Ivanovic, Bouchard, Halep will be strong contenders for the title. And Azarenka ? Back from foot injury, it'll be interesting to see her first matches to see how well she recovered.

Now, let's discus... Oh, guys, this just in, we have our own expert's opinion on these two weeks outcome !

Nadal will make his comeback on grass this year! I think getting the 14th slam will provide him motivation to push harder here!

Well whatever happens, it's going to be hard to beat the drama of Murphy ending the 325 year[or however many] British title drought.

I like how the French Open thread was all like: "The champion is clearly going to be Serena, but I guess I should go over the other contenders just in case." And then Serena lost in the first round.

I find this one slightly more humble.

I hope to watch some matches this time around. Would like to see maybe Gulbis do well.

Amazing OT Diamond! Congrats and thanks! :)

I absolutely hate both draws though. Ffs. t_t

Djoko got a packed section of the draw with some great grass players like Stepanek and Tsonga.

Maria and Genie ended up in the same half as I feared, and both will have to face Serena if they want to advance (Genie in the 4R and Maria on the QF). Maria will also face Angie Kerber (another fave of mine) in the 4R. Why tennis god? Why?

Also I hope someone sends Brainless Ballbasher Giorgi and her crazy ass father back to Italy early because I sure as hell dont want Maria to lose to her again. >_>

I know, I know.

I'm looking forward to this years wimbledon though, I think Andy was very lucky to get into his position last year, a lot of the bracket fell in his favour. I doubt he'll win it again this year given current form but hopefully he'll put enough into it to make it dramatic.

Based on Nadal's progression at Wimbledon the past couple years, he will probably get injured mid-match and pull out this year. Next year, he'll pull out before the tournament, and then the year after he'll retire from tennis. Despite this, he will still somehow manage to win the French Open the following year.

Crazy how early Nadal and Federer bowed out last year.

I want to see those two play again in a Wimby final. Just one more time.

Sucks that Raonic is in the same draw as Nadal. Rafa has some heavy hitters in his side too, damn

Bouchard with Serena and I don't see Serena losing early again booo

Wimbledon is unpredictable, just is, although uuusually Serena is less unpredictable here. Not that she hasn't lost early before. Still find it hard to bet against her as a winner. Obviously going to be interesting to see all the new hypes try to live up to French Open effort - Halep, Muguruza, Bouchard.

Serena will beat MaSha in the quarters, then Halep will beat Serena.

If Roger plays like he did earlier in the year (Aus open), he could win. But I don't think it will happen. I'm going to guess it will be Djokovic.

Haha. Nadal plays Rosol again in the second round. I would enjoy seeing Rosol beat Nadal again but it's more likely Nadal will get his revenge.

Nadal was such a poor sport when he played Rosol two years ago. He whined a lot about Rosol and even gave him a nice bump when they were crossing at the net.

I'd like to see Murray win his second, and Bouchard to come through beating both Serena and Maria on the way (I know, never going to happen).

Andy Murray's little sister is MaSha's sacrificial lamb. I bet it will be a centre court affair anyway.

edit: nvm Samantha Murray isn't Andy's sister. I think he does have a sister that plays tennis though

He has a brother who plays doubles I know. Jamie. Won the mixed at Wimbledon one year if I remember right.

Has anyone here ever attended Wimbledon? Is it worth it? I went to the French Open and it was a blast - much more fun than I expected. Would love to make it to Wimbledon one year.

Favorite time of the year :)

Go Fed! For the men's as long as Murray or Nadal do not win, I'll be happy. I do want Federer to squeeze out just one more Wimbledon title. Last year, the first Wednesday had ALL of the top players go out, looking forward to see what surprises we have in store.

As for the women's, all I'm going to say is GO SABINE!!!
