Hey guys i have a very annoying problem :(
When i boot on my notebook after a hibernation it only has the time to show the "lenovo" logo that shuts down, then i boot on again and this time nothing happens but i've lost the session.
I think that it started the day i installed an update and some programs, i uninstalled those programs but the problem is still here so i think it could be the update but i can't be sure.

I learned that it's not just the hibernation, even the complete shutdown gives me the same problem :(

EDIT:
DP sorry.

Maybe someone in here knows something about this:

Somehow my font in the Edge browser changed and I have no idea why or how to set it back to default.

Does anyone know something about this?

It looks like this now:

I found a similar question to yours:
"I did find the answer to the problem yesterday, however. Apparently there's some connection between installing Office 2016 and the font problem in Edge. Others had the same issue after installing Office 2016. The Arial fonts had become corrupted and once I reinstalled the Arial fonts, the problem was resolved."

How to get to the fonts control panel:

Thx, just tried this, didn't help.

I've had that problem a couple of times previously. Clearing Edge's cache fixed the issue on both occasions.

Tried that also, didn't help.

And I just reinstalled the whole application with some command prompt I found online. Didn't help either.

I give up, back to Chrome untill I do a clean install of the whole system.

Guy having issues with the app store in my brand new surface book. Cannot download any apps including facebook and KVADPhoto+ Pro. Keep getting the error Error code 0x803F7000.

I had no issues with this on my other laptop that was upgraded to Win 10.

I have tried all the following that i found online to no avail:

  1. This problem may arise if the date and time in Windows 10 are incorrect. - NOT THE ISSUE
  2. If the region has been set incorrectly.- NOT THE ISSUE
  3. Problems with Windows store cache. - RESET WINDOWS STORE NO CHANGE
  4. Windows store server overloaded. - NO ISSUE ON THE OTHER LAPTOP
  5. The Windows version you are using is pirated. - HELL NO.

Any ideas guys? and thanks!

Try making a new user account.

After over a month of trying to install windows 10 and failing, the simplest solution worked, disconnect from the net after win 10 finishes downloading and restarts, I really don't understand why this would work, but it did.

Try making a new user account.

Can't do this as the current user account is linked to my microsoft user acct an e-mail and the app store and everything really.

Any other suggestions? Reset (Restore) the computer maybe? Not sure if this would help as it is brand new and I haven't installed anything new except chrome and google drive.

Is your account verified? I fixed an issue with my mom's account where she was signed in, but when attempting to use Groove or just app syncing in general, it wouldn't allow it and gave an ambiguous error. I eventually stumbled upon the verification check, which did nothing but show a blank screen. Turns out there was an update that - after a restart - allowed the verification process to complete, fixing everything else in the process.

You should still be able to make a local account and login in just the store app. I've done it as a last resort for the same reason.

I did verify ):

Tried. No go ):

Is reset the only way? I'm not even sure that will work. this is a brand new untouched computer with nothing installed except Google Chrome and Drive. Time and date settings are all confirmed and synced online.

How is this so hard to fix?!?!!??

In case anyone was having the problem I was having before, I've figured it out.

If Groove Music or Movies & TV immediately fail to download anything on your Windows 10 system, make sure that the paths for the Music and Videos libraries are valid. Since the November update lets you change the storage location through Settings, I found out that switching the location to an SD card made everything work fine. My on-disc path was somehow set to some server path that the apps didn't like.
Also, add in that when I reinstalled on this computer, I didn't like the auto-generated user name it made and that may have caused some conflicts in the user folder.

And now that I have that fixed, I can finally enjoy that 10 days of 10-cent sales going on.

I posted this in another thread, didn't know about this one.

"So today I was playing skyrim, and it crashed,I tried doing everything but it left me with the only option to just power it off, upon restarting I notice my pc was extremely slow, so I open task manager and noticed my disk at 100%, I can't do nothing, it just hangs and freezes, any one gotten this problem or know of any solution?"

Edit: even on safe mode it freezes, and none of my programs open, they load but never open.

Fucking hell, can I stop the Mail program from giving me a notification for EVERY NEW MAIL?! Like, when I boot my PC it will go "ding", "ding", "ding", "ding", "ding", "ding", "ding", "ding", "ding", "ding", "ding", "ding", "ding", "ding", for every new mail since the last time I was on. It's ridiculously annoying. Give me ONE notification that says "15 new emails", please. Possible?

Since upgrading to 1511 with the media Create Tool, there is a windows.old folder again, but I can't delete it or clean it away. An indea how to get rid of the old windows folder?

I'm trying to go back to windows 7 but I can only download it in french, and when I try to reformat my windows 10 it gives me a error and doesn't let me reformat when I desperately need to. I still have my product key that I bought with the computer and I bought a english version.

Thanks microsoft.

If you use the media creation tool to make a bootable usb you can install a fresh version of Windows 10 without entering a product key and it should activate fine once installed since you already have Windows 10 activated on your machine. If not you can enter your Windows 7 product key directly into Windows 10 now, no need to install Windows 7 then upgrade anymore. It was a change they made in threshold 2 I think.

I reformatted back to Windows 8.1... But my 8.1 key doesn't work anymore and I didn't save the generic Windows 10 key that generated with the uograde...

Am I screwed?

After the last big update a few days ago my PC restarts after selecting shutdown. It's so annoying and I don't now what to do. I already turned off Fast Startup in W10 and Bios.

My PC keeps waking up from sleep like a ghost.

If you open up windows event viewer, it will show you what kind of things are causing the wake. Then, you can take it from there. For me, it used to be this clock synchronization but I don't remember exactly what it was called. Googling the name of the event found me some pages that helped me solve the unwanted wake-ups.

Hello all! For whatever reason, today the audio on my MSI laptop began to echo and I can't seem to find a fix for it. I've reinstalled the latest Realtek drivers which didn't seem to have any effect at all. The most common suggestion I've seen for fixing the problem is going into the properties for my speakers and turning off any and all "enhancements" - the problem is no such tab exists for me.

ZSmimmf.jpg

My audio setup is just a simple stereo speaker set plugged into the audio jack. But even with the the speakers not connected and the audio coming out of the laptop itself - the echo persists. I'm completely baffled as to how to fix this, or even what caused it.

Check your microphone settings. Also, try to find the Realtek control panel on your computer (might be branded with MaxxAudio, DTS, Dolby, etc.) and disable all enhancements there.

Is there no way to get rid of the constant update notifications? I just updated and an hour later they're bugging me about another update.

Everything I find online is about stopping the update prompt from 7/8 to 10. I want the update prompts within 10 to stop.

I think I'm going to finally upgrade. Been out of the loop, are there any particular issues I need to be aware of?

Which version of Windows are you coming from? For both of my computers, since one is an Intel HD 4000 and the other an older GPU, even though on Win 7 they were both capable of something like Open GL 4.0, Win 8/10 will categorize them as legacy and default them to Open GL 1.0 capability.

You really only have to worry about this with certain GPUs, though. So it depends on your system. Otherwise, I'm loving most everything about 10.

The only other issue I still have is dual monitor support. Even after reinstalling graphics drivers, if you have a secondary monitor attached and say, your computer goes to sleep or an administrative prompt pops up, it'll forget the second monitor and disconnect. Still haven't found a way to fix this. :/ I wonder if this is related to my legacy GPU situation.

Second this. I've been putting it off. Is it ok now to upgrade? I still see people having troubles in various forums

How do I get the date and time in the corner like in this picture? I've googled every combination of desktop+date and time+wallpaper that I can think of!

Rainmeter?

Am I screwed?

Just realized I never gave an update in case anyone else has this issue; even though my 8.1 install would not activate with my original 8.1 key, when I upgraded back to 10 it reactivated...

I noticed the MCT only presents Windows 10 and Windows 10 N as choices now. There's no options for Pro or Single Language any longer. Are these universal isos that adapt to your machine or activation key?

I just had a weird issue, I restarted my PC for the latest update and it seems to have installed Windows 10 Pro fresh, even though I've been on W10 since it came out. It took forever to install it with the % screen and then it had that splash screen that says things like "we've added new features to windows", "Let's start" etc.

All my file associations have gone back to default Windows applications and now I've clicked Check for Updates and it's found quite a few updates for Windows 10 Version 1511. Looking up that shows it's the big November update, so maybe it's all fine.

Kind of strange for it to ruin my file assocations though, it also borked a few things on my Start Menu, like removing the Downloads folder.

My upgrade broke Bluetooth on my PC. Old drivers don't work and gigabyte hasn't produced new drivers. I guess I'll have to get a Bluetooth dongle now.

So much for a free upgrade. Meh.

Tried to factory reset my new windows 10 toshiba c55d-c5251d. Now it's saying "no bootable device--insert boot disk" anyone have any idea what's the problem? I've tried everything

This might sound dumb, but that happened to me once when I had a USB key plugged into my computer. Did this problem pop up in the middle of the recovery process or something?

Hey guys, quick question from a Windows 10 noob.

I currently have Win10 Home, is it possible for me to disable automatic updates and have the system notify me instead.

I know with Win10 Pro you are able to use gpedit to change that setting, but unfortunately I am not able to do so with the Home version.

Any tips?

What a real pain this latest big update is for tablet devices, it needs 20GB of space and my device is a 32GB model, I still need to find more space after uninstalling my games and all the scrap files I can find and delete! so I gave in and giving the tablet a full clear & reinstall.

So annoying though, 20GB is too big in one chunk it should have been cut up into different installs.
