Hey GAF, my girlfriend has a bit of a problem - I don't think this it's neccessarily Windows 10 related, but I didn't want to open a new thread, and couldn't find any other general PC troubleshooting one.
So she got a new Laptop (
this one) and the WiFi acts up. It's connected to our home WiFi (full bars) and surfing and downloading work flawless, but the thing just can't upload
anything. Text-only emails from Thunderbird work, but as soon as there's the smallest attachment they stop at 96%. Can't upload pics to abload etc., can't attach pics to facebook messages (or smoothly scroll down the news feed), speedtests crap out at the uploading part - all browsers show the same. Other devices (including her old laptop) are connected to the same WiFi, and work flawlessly. It worked once these last two days, when I was literally holding the laptop up next to the router, but that doesn't work anymore either.
When I use my cell as mobile hotspot everything works fine, so I'm kinda guessing router problem, but I couldn't find anything there (it's a nice FritzBox, dualband, and always chooses disruption-free channels, so I guess that can't be the problem). As I said, every other device has no problems.
I researched and the WiFi card seems to be a bit crap (Qualcomm Atheros QCA61X4), but why would it work with my cell if it was busted? Drivers are up to date.
I checked everything my Google-Fu let me check (really not a computer guy), and I guess we'll just send it back if we can't solve the problem today. Windows sees no problems with the connection or the card. I repaired and updated Windows, tried safe mode, updated drivers, meddled with the energy options for the laptop and the card, I really don't know anymore.
Also, the ipconfig/all. I have no idea what any of this means (sorry for it all being in German, will translate if you need me to).
Would be much appreciated if someone could look over this and take a guess. Thank you!
