Does Windows 8 have a feature to share your Ethernet internet as a wifi network?
Is there anyway to get a clock on a tile? Just noticed there is no easy way to tell the time without going back to the desktop.
Weird that it is not on the calander tile
Is upgrading to windows 8 worth it if you won't have a touch screen? I'm looking into laptop upgrades and just figured the surface pro won't meet all of my preferences, so I'm kind of at square one again.
Check out the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13, it's a 13" laptop running Windows 8 (not RT thankfully) and it transforms into a tablet (touchscreen built into the display)
needs more discrete graphics option.
There are several clock app. Some are free. I used Clock work great. I am not sure what is with Microsoft and their love for hiding those information. They did the same with Windows Phone where you have to swipe to see connection bar and battery. (At least the clock is static on Windows Phone).
I don't know if you're serious, but an IHD 4000 is more than enough for everything except hardcore gaming.
It'll probably run games like League of Legends and Minecraft well (native res at 30 FPS for League), but for something that flips inside out it doesn't need anything more. It'd be bulky as fuck or require good ventilation.
I believe you can already do this in Windows 7 so I would assume Windows 8 can too (can't confirm, I run a desktop)
Edit: Also, is there any way to get Skype for Windows 8? I've been trying to find it forever.
Messaging app stopped working for me. Won't sign in.
Stopped working for me too. I can sign, but get a message saying that they can't send any messages right now, and every message i try to send returns an error.
A touchscreen on a larger gaming laptop is something I could see happening, but not like this. This thing flips around and turns into a tablet, I don't see that working or even being logical to have on a larger gaming laptop. I mean, why would you play BF3 on a touchscreen anyway?will it bf3. i honestly don't mind like a 6lbs laptop if it gave me touchscreen and a discrete gpu.
Should be in the Windows Store
http://apps.microsoft.com/webpdp/en-us/app/skype/5e19cc61-8994-4797-bdc7-c21263f6282b
Open the link in IE and it should give you the option to 'View in Windows Store'.

oh. i thought i was the only one.
I think it's because I'm running the Release Preview. Oh well, I was waiting until I got paid to get Win 8 Pro, I can hold out a few days.

no i mean i just like the option of having touchscreen as well.
thanks found a good one, I would love to share what it was but I have no freaking idea how to check my "purchase" history
Do you have to run Win8 apps in full screen? No window mode?

Win8 isn't for you. you can't multitask properly.
So I really want to make a tile that is a link to Facebook or Amazon, but it opens it up in IE, not Chrome. How do I get a link tile to open up in Chrome? I made Chrome my default browser for everything, but then it broke all my tile links. I had to set IE as the default browser for URL: HyperText Transfer Protocol to restore the tiles.
I read on another site you can just type this in
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" http://facebook.com
and it will open up in the nondefault browser. Apparently it doesn't work in Windows 7 and definitely doesn't work in 8.

But I want it
I was about to say "wut"? and then I noticed who are you responding to!!
I have the path I stated as a tile to open up Chrome and it works fine. When I go to the path your stating I go as far as the Chrome folder then my folders change. All I have is User Data after that.I don't know about Windows 8, but that isn't the path to the Chrome executable in Windows 7.
On my PC, the actual path is:
"C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe"
Change <username> to your actual user name, and put http://facebook.com at the end. It will open Facebook in Chrome.
yes it will.Xbox music will not play in the background? That seems odd.

I have tried everything I can think of here. Uninstall, reinstall, manually update the drivers, choose the driver from a list, nothing has been a resolution. I suppose I simply say the Xbox 360 headset is incompatible with Windows 8. Hopefully Microsoft will release updated drivers. My wireless Xbox headset is transmitting garbled audio through the earpiece. Anyone know of a fix? I can't seem to find any information via my Google-fu.
That was released last weekIt's nice to see someone from the gaming side who want it.
And yeah, Metro apps are full screen only but they can be snapped. For example, you can browse with IE and snap Xbox Music to the right or left for the ultimate GAF porn experience.
And I received this update via windows update:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2756872
Take a look at the change list:
Increased power efficiency to extend battery life
Performance improvements in Windows 8 applications and Start screen
Improved audio and video playback in many scenarios
Improved application and driver compatibility with Windows 8
Sinofsky team are working hard it seems.
It stops playing if I switch to another window.yes it will.
That is absolutely not normal behavior. I've played WoW with Xbox Music playing in the background for many hours. It stops playing if I switch to another window.
So how do I go about using two metro tiles at a time. I tried moving netflix to my second screen but when I try to use chrome on the first screen, it closes out netflix?
P.s. I know it's not a killer feature but the auto-correct and spell check performance of IE10 is pretty top-notch.

You can run in a snap mode, Halfbrick showed off the snap mode easter egg-ish parts of Jetpack Joyride and Fruit Ninja here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fF3reaeu9-Q
Mine's weak as. All it does is correct things like shouldve > should've. Tried typing stuff like Bakrey and BAkery (this happens a lot) and it doesn't do anything.
