Has anyone noticed there is
no thread about this on ResetERA? They seem to be confining all of the discussion to the general Microsoft Rewards thread, which is like 300+ pages long.
I find that very "interesting", given the news could potentially be viewed as a negative by some. And it's not like they haven't made threads for breaking news regarding the platforms before, especially if it's bad news...
especially if PlayStation is involved. Hell, they'll plaster the front page with like five randoms posting new threads on the same thing and take eons to merge them into a single thread.
This is one of those examples where you can see the platform bias at work from the adminstrator(s) and moderators on that site, and how they do this for optics control. Like, I've seen Ghostcrew (a moderator) make threads before about controversial PS-related stuff (IIRC he may've been one of the ones to push a thread about the BS Black Myth Wukong PS5 moneyhat rumor Paul Tassi & Jez Corden were trying to trick people into believing)....y'all don't have a single thread on the MS Reward Points increase? None? At all? It's been a whole day almost!
As for the increase itself...bound to happen. We know MS were tired on the low margins of Game Pass and a big part of that's come from diehards who claim they love the service, but don't actually pay anything for it. Or, they barely pay anything, using Reward points while abusing VPN tricks to buy & stack Game Pass in cheap foreign regions before converting to USD or whatever. It was all going to eventually stop and it seems like that time is now.
It's the sensible business decision on MS's part, but they weened a lot of faithful to expect it for free or "cheap", so it'll be funny seeing how some of the most vocal pro-Game Pass cheerleaders who were likely barely paying anything for the service, talk about it now that they might have to part with some real cash
