another shot

So it's coming out on Thursday right guys.......guys?

I wonder if WP7 will get any play at CES.

It would be a nice time for Microsoft to announce a non-phone device on the platform launching in the fall with Mango. A spiritual successor to the Zune HD would be awesome.

Please let it happen. I think I'd rather get one of those and an E52 (or updated version) that I can tether to when needed.

That phone looks hot.

I wish I waited for that actually but other than that, I have a Samsung Focus (At&T obviously) and other than At&t's limited capabilities at times I have to say I'm satisfied with the phone and service. It's my first smartphone after all. I just wish the phone had an official Windows Live messenger app that will allow me to speak with my girlfriend that lives across the world. Work on it Microsoft.

CES? You mean E3? CES won't be until January 2012.

I hope WP has a presence during MS' E3 press conference on 6/6. A noteworthy one.

Samsung Focus is messed up, I was going out, so I left it charging while connected to my laptop for nearly 3 hours and when I get back it had the connect to a power source symbol.

Why doesn't this phone charge over the USB while the iPhone works just fine.

That looks really exciting! Also confirm podcast management (yeah), bing audio and bunch of other stuff.

He said there are more on podcast -

I wonder how long before "official" reveal of Mango or Windows Phone OS 7.5 features.

They are saying messenger integration in the people hub now. Its pretty amazing how fast they are moving. iOS 5 better add something new or they will soon be eclipses in functionality.

Apart from multitasking apps, even IE Mobile’s tabs are shown while switching between apps. This will make more sense when more and more powerful HTML5 based web apps replaces native apps in the future.
interesting, a lot like webOS.
side note: will microsoft provide an way for third party developers to integrate other services into the hubs?

I have it on good word that they won't be adding anything new.
you're talking about iOS5? so only the cloud stuff and no improvements to notifications or multitasking?!

Third party developers are able to integrate their apps in a limited way. Music or videos played with a third party app show up in the "recent" section of the music+video hub. They're also listed as "extras" in that hub. I think the integration in the pictures hub is limited to opening stored pictures with a photo app. With Mango, developers can integrate their apps into the Bing search results.

You can upload pictures via the photbucket app through the extras tab, so it can be done ( I'm not sure if it is a MS developed app or not).

so if the Mango SDK is being released this month, when do you guys expect the update?
I don't expect anything. Microsoft said that Mango is scheduled for this Fall and that's enough for me. I just want the updated SDK.

is it confiormed that all first gen phones will get mango?

The CPUs for the updated chassis support HSPA+, so that should be a given.

The thing is it is easy for Microsoft to catch up to iOS and Android right now because they know what to do, but once they are all on the same lines, it is hard for the either one to make the next step which is where it counts.

Is there any way to split up messages? Also, lack of embedded youtube videos is just ridiculous...

I don't get it, the HTC Trophy is being left in the dust?

HTC trolling MS already. Awesome.

It will have a presence at e3.... the question is how much of a presence. I am still holding out hope they announce the new zunehd device there (wp7 sans phone)... branded as a portable xbox and throw a few first party studios at it.

Hey guys quick question. I'm thinking of getting two WP7 phones (one for me and one for my wife).

How easy (effective) is to sync two phones from one PC. I know a phone can autosync with a PC over WIFI, but I'm wondering if I can have two profiles(or something like that) to sync different stuff between the phones (music, podcasts, videos, etc).

I thinking of getting two Samsung Focus phones.

My guess would be to create two different Windows user accounts.

One for you and one for your wife. That way things won't be mixed up.

Finally enjoying my phone.. have had a LG Quantum since January.. pretty much 2-3 times every single day it locked up when receiving messages. Returning it is not easy as it is a corporate phone so its a big hassle. A couple weeks ago I updated the phone via my mac and was hoping it would fix it.. it did not but I also could not see any changes in the OS.

Fast forward to last Thursday night.. I plugged my phone into my Windows 7 laptop this time and it triggered the same update.. so I went though the process. Now 5 days later the phone is running so much better than before and not a single lock up since..

So I am wondering if that mac WP7 software is bunk as far as updating or perhaps mine just failed to really update it.

Anyways.. finally happy with the performance of my phone.. update was worth the wait in my case.

Zune can sync your library with five devices. You can easily switch between them in the software. I've never tried to sync two devices at the same time, but I'll do it later.

Can the five devices contain different things or will it just be synced to the current computer user who signs in?

Good, I just don't want them to sync the same thing to all of them. I'd prefer to not to run different windows accounts either.

It can sync different things. I have a Zune HD and Focus and I don't have them sync the same content.
