Or is what I have now what I have until I have to roll back to NoDo for the official release?

I am tired of itunes and would prefer to move away from it.
Thanks.
for those updated to RTM Mango
I can't seem to do anything with the Twitter contacts. I've tried filtering to only Twitter contacts to link them, but nothing shows up.Robobandit said:You just need to connect it to the zune beta and go into settings>update and it will check for and find the update.
edit -
New 7712 discoveries -
You can link someone's twitter account to their existing contact on your phone.. you just need to tap the @username in a tweet they made, etc. then you'll be taken to a different profile card with all of their tweets.. and from there you can choose "Link" and choose one of your existing contacts.
Once this is done, you'll get "Mention on Twitter" on their profile card.
Next, IE 9 on WP7 can now use google music.

If I filter my news feed I can click on tweets, but still cannot link contacts. Any ideas?

Mat C said:What are people's thoughts on Zune?
Today is my very first experience with Zune in any capacity at all. iTunes has always been suffecient for me. The service itself looks and runs very nice.. it's largely offering me the same functionality as iTunes does for basic music listening etc but wrapped in a much nicer package. Are many of you using Zune as your main media playing format or do you just use it to sync your WP7 handsets and still use iTunes/other services?
Also, how are people finding Zune pass? I have a free 3 month trial with my contract which I'm obviously going to give a go, but I'd rather not get too deep into it before I have to make a decision on whether to pay for the continuing service (and therefore risk losing all the shit I downloaded if I didn't). Is it worth trying out and paying for each month?
better battery life. better signal reading.catmincer said:Does it add/do anything?
Milly79 said:so the 14 day trial Zune Pass, do you get to keep the 10 songs or whatever?
It said I wouldn't be charged. HM, I sure hope I don't have to check and make sure. I just wanted to try it out and not be automatically charged.Robobandit said:Not during the trial, if I recall correctly.
After your two weeks are up and you get billed for your first month, you'll get 10 song credits.
You can download any eligible music from the marketplace and stream it to your phone over 3G or Wifi though. You just don't get to keep any songs until you're a paying customer.
Don't they just pop in? I thought it was a bug.zatara said:I'm not digging how the clock, date, and notifications fade in when you wake up the phone on the 7712 build.

This was happening for me in the earlier Mango beta too. I've got a hunch that it's something to do with the hardware sleep button and/or firmware.user_nat said:When unlocking the phone, the background appears before the text. Only happened since updating today. Normal?
In the US. The UK doesn't get any for-keeps songs.Robobandit said:Not during the trial, if I recall correctly.

I think it's just a bug with the fade, since it's pretty inconsistent - sometimes it fades in at the same rate, or just after, the rest of the screen, but other times it does tend to lag a bit.zatara said:it's happening to me as well, i have a samsung focus.

http://wmpoweruser.com/mangobeta7712video/Major changes include:
- Twitter integration into the Whats New feed, along with notifications for Twitter mentions through the Me tile
- New animations for opening the People/Zune/Pictures/Zune/Marketplace hubs (looks a bit cooler, but is possibly slower)
- Visual Voicemail interface has been tweaked so its easier to use (Pic via Pocketnow)
- Sharing pictures via Twitter/Sharing web browser links via Twitter
- The multitasking interface lets you quickly scroll through your last 5 apps instead of flicking through them one by one. It also doesnt waste a slot with your homescreen, unless you were on your homescreen when you held the back button
Minor changes include:
- LinkedIn support
- The Paste icon doesnt constantly show halfway on the keyboard suggestion bar when theres nothing to paste, like it used to in the original Mango Beta 2. Now it completely hides unless you recently copied something. Much less annoying!
- Copy/Paste sound effect has been added instead of the default keyboard click noise. Now it sounds like a digitized water droplet
- New square Windows booting logo
- The Groups in your People Hub no longer have a tile next to them
- Instead of the typical Play looking button at the bottom of the Music+Videos hub, they changed the icon to two music note symbols. It still plays and shuffles all of your songs like before.
- The Lime color theme is a slightly different color now, which outraged a few people
- The Me button in the Maps app also has a different icon
- Suggesting changes to Bing Map results now seems to work. If a stores info is incorrect, you can tell Bing that the store is closed/correct their phone number/correct their name/etc
- The apps in the Music+Videos hub marquee are now alphabetized
- When typing text and starting a new paragraph, the phone will now auto-capatilize the first letter of the paragraph. Previously in the Mango Beta 2, if you hit enter twice, it wouldnt capitalize it for you

Can someone build an app that makes this experience better? That'd be amazing.brotkasten said:The SkyDrive music thing is really nothing exciting. I just noticed that my music folder showed up in the skydrive, but it just opens the browser and let you select the files and stream them. There's no interface or anything.
Microsoft only needs to implement an HTML5 audio player into SkyDrive. You'd even be able to play the music in the background.Firestorm said:Can someone build an app that makes this experience better? That'd be amazing.

Here's a list of changes in the 7712 build:

Is it 8% for Microsoft overall or specifically for Windows Phone? If it's just WP then that would be a pretty good number all told, right? Not on an absolute basis of course but relative to previous figures.VanMardigan said:The latest Nielsen's shows WP7 at just 8% of the US market. What's more interesting is that HTC is the top selling manufacturer, selling three times as many phones as Samsung. I actually expected HTC to be further ahead of Samsung, considering they're the only ones selling WP7 on Verizon, T-Mobile (DVP isn't sold at stores, is it?) and Sprint, and have two phones on AT&T.
I hope the other OEMs step it up with Mango. Samsung can't just release one phone on one carrier in the US and call it a day. Ditto for LG.
